Lovelife433: Those loan app are very terrible. How can a loan app borrow you 20k to pay 45k in less than 2 month? This is why some people find it difficult to pay back.
Sorry but it means the person saw he was going to pay 45k back in 2 months. Realised he won't be able to pay it but took the loan anyway.
sleekflow: Can you shed more light on this tipper business please? And the kinda truck exactly. Thanks.
It's those tippers that deliver sand. I don't now the name of he make I never bothered to find out.
That stuff brings alot of money but when the wahala start and it will........
It was like blood money that year. Every single day just sit back and get alert. W would be in rhe club or joint and he'll shout e don enter. That's alert.
2mch: Just to prove to everyone that the guy is a liar and a divorce or pre-nup does not mean deportation. You have the chance to regularize or change status or leave if you cant afford the fees. They will never deport you over a divorce. A divorce is not a crime.
Leave that story. If they remove you from dependent visa you'll get max 60 days to arrange yourself or get deported.
You think changing status is easy? I've seen many people jostling for any job with sponsorship just to stay following a dispute with the partner who notifies home office that they no longer sponsor them. The speed with which home office will send you notification.
Then lawyer fees na joke. I personally know someone who was a court and didn't see his own son till the boy was 5 years old . That's when court granted him the opportunity.
abduleez1: This movie, My Father's Shadow was transformative for me. You know I'm one of the few people here who usually isn't a believer of naija content or as you would say "New Nollywood" and avoid it mostly. But this film got me believing we have the talent to achieve our dreams for the industry, no matter how lofty.
I remember staunchly being against foreign entities being the brains behind our storytelling but man after this movie.... I don't hold such views anymore cos this was perfection. A perfect blend of Nigerian talent mixed with foreign help, support or funding.
That's why I was happy when I saw Nigerian actors in that upcoming Children of Blood and Bone movie. Like you said, we got tons of rich history to explore that we haven't gotten the bravery to mine for yet. Hopefully this will be the beginning of great things.
But for me, I think the problem is probably the audience. Just like I've been hammering on for the past few years. The audience usually dictates how the market is shaped. So far Nigerian audiences always turned up for these run-of-the-mill stories, our producers will always stick to the safe bet.
Look at this film My Father's Shadow....it didn't break much record at the box office. I'm doubtful much of the audience even knew about the film. And I've seen a few people saying the cinemas in Lagos here was almost empty while they watched the film. Ironically the film was gaining good audience abroad in places it screened and good reviews but we here mostly shunned it. Hopefully this award wins will open people's eyes.
The way I see it other media companies will be looking for these type of stories and adapting it more hopefully due to this film's success. I see the BBC playing an active role in shaping that cos I'm seeing more movement from them.
I watched that With Difficulty Comes Ease with that your Uzoamaka Power being the star. Nice film. A film I'd easily give a 7.5/10. It was a relatable story and looked at a serious societal norm tackling a topic about familial relationship, religious norms and our morality in a country like Nigeria as well as the travails of an average woman when her husband dies and at the mercy of the husband's family. Great watch.

Bookmarked. I usually avoid nigerian movies / series except when the noise is loud and the story is different ala gang of lagos, that netflix kidnap movie and shanty town. I'll see this one too based on recommendations here.
Now back to nigerian movie watchers , we basically like simplicity or comic relief. If it's not a simple story of max pain to success or pure comedy ( bordering on low iq behaviour ) majority of Nigerians won't watch. They cannot accept or bother to use brian power to understand serious concepts on a large scale.
ikeno: Actually it's not that she was married in real sense, just got pregnant for the guy and they began cohabitating
Same difference she don born for person, dey live with am you still run am.
Lol. Some of you sef. I can never ever be with anyone who still doesn't my ex my ex. I don't want to even hear you sent birthday wishes. No communication at all.
I won't listen to any explanation if you do otherwise.
Yes. Na so my own be. If you can't handle it waka go front.
MT: The same plane I flew from London to Nigeria without any entertainment service. The screen no dey work and they asked us to be using our phone to watch that they would connect us to their entertainment service. No where to charge the phone and few of the seats were ripped off.
At that moment, I said never again.
I even wrote to the customer service and nothing happened.
We lack maintenance culture and the foreign airlines will always be competitive.i Air Peace is a dying airline, no need to paper over the cracks.
You Have experienced them. If not for the cost difference and direct flight forget.
No in-flight entertainment, no charging port. Delayed for over 5 hrs. I had to be explaining to train conductor why I'm on a later train because I bought my ticket for a particular time.
First time I've flown airpeace. I'll give them one more try as naija based. If they delay flight again I won't even talk. I just know never again.
madridguy: Is she too big for her dad to discipline or what? No man will be happy beating her adult daughter in that manner. She should listen to her dad and be a good girl.
Physical discipline, yes. She's too old for that after all she could partake in a show rated 18.
However you have to wonder what an adult woman would do that would make her father panel beat her like this.
MartinCorridon: That's what annoys me the most. The reason Blacks are ALWAYS at the bottom.
German and Japan were crushed during the World War 2.
They rose to the very top again. Because the people didn't run.
ONLY Blacks feel Japa is a solution.
Few have brains like that Yoruba Dr from Johns Hopkins who chose to come back and do things.
They usually just come and complain.
I am currently in Europe and all I can think of is how to return and implement what I learnt there.
When I stayed here for more than a month, I understood the perspective of racists. How can you respect Blacks who hardly contribute anything to humanity ? And it's not a Nigerian problem... Many Africans are like this. We are just unique because we abuse our country the most.
Well Germany and Japan rose back to the top because the government decided to rise again and carried the people along. You cannot have intellectualy bereft people lead you anywhere.
Singapore did the same thing. Government policy and economic planning within a time frame can change this country faster than you'll believe.
About complaints here's the fact what else can they do. In the country you're in when you complain people listen, here you're opposition or an enemy and if you aren't careful security agents will vanish you.
Implementing your plans is a great idea but remember you're in a country that someone can wake up and destroy your entire networth just because he wants it for himself. They revoke your land or pass a new law that ruins your business and no court will hear your case for the next 5 years.
See brother I feel your insight but as long the government doesn't answer to you, nothing you can do but rant and rave. After all they'll just bring rice to your polling unit and collect all the votes ( that's if they'll even bother). They can as well just print result and say it is so.
Maybe you've been gone long but nigeria is a long way from wherever you think it is.
