Not all roads can be dualized. Let's also consider the financial situation of the state. We haven't dualized trunk B roads in the state, like Awka-Ekwulobia and others, talk more of this rural road. The most important thing is for them to build solid roads. When the need for expansion arises years down the line, it will be done. Even in most developed countries, not all roads are dualized.
Brother I vehemently disagree with you… Anambra is expanding in full force, if is not expanding they will not consider constructing that road…
Remember how aroma was before Obiano rebuilt it that every picture of Anambra is finer because it bears bridge. He should do the same… if that road was properly constructed people will automatically remain at that rural area therefore they will not be heavy concentration at the city.

All the roads we are crying to be dualized how many has been done? None!!! only promises why not avert a future one? Most of our leaders and people supporting them lack vision. Wake up Anambra is developing all round forget rural areas make every where a town build the roads like town. Awka is moving down to Amansea you are calling it rural…

Look at the joke of a bridge built on a fine river will it cost fortunes to raise it up? So It will cost fortunes to dualise a road that both sides are free, also cost fortunes to make atleast an “n” curved bridge for the river freely flow? Also it will cost fortunes to put a nice rail on the bridge… just hear your self

With mediocrity we can’t have a city not with these Golgotha roads but with wide dualized paved roads with light poles , covered drains and traffic lights

.

Thank you for sharing … the road is not wide and yet not dualized… while both sides are free … a village will not remain a village forever… why don’t you build it as if is town… in that way migration from cities are automatic and in the future there will not be any call of dualization of the roads…

So that is the bridge of the amansea river … why can’t that bridge be reasonably higher? Look at the poor one sided rail on the poor bridge…Rivers should be allowed to flow free and the bridges above it should be high incase the river increase as well as encouraging fishing directly under the bridge. Kindly go and check the one Obiano built at the riverine area.. please I want higher standards for my state not mediocrity every where….truly not satisfactory

This nice … but here is my observation… currently if you show Anambra you brag about the bridge in Awka, Airport, ICC etc these are huge infrastructure that have improved Anambra.. thank you willie Obiano … so therefore Soludo should be poised to do more…
He should focus on infrastructures … Obiano constructed not less than 9bridges which are huge infrastructures both in town and villages.
Soludo should not make so much noise about the few he wants to build.
I thought based on what his predecessors has done more bridges and round abouts and center pieces should be manifested and work towards it.

About this fun city… is okay…but the object is just vague, regardless is good…

More huge roundabouts more street lights and paved streets make road developments iconic

I stopped replying when it dawned on me that the negligence of Nnewi is deliberate.

Soludo is from Nnewi region and as a matter of fact should prioritize the development of the city as done by his predecessors to their regions (AWKA/ONITCHA), but here we are with useless flimsy excuses from his E warriors.

So you know, the entire NNEWI is an eyesore. And that's the fact
Is high time ANSG listens to the development call in Nnewi… we are all Anambra people period.
Also I can remember when Obiano wanted to do something in nnewi starting from the the abandoned proposed mall and the roads there … but it caused so much chaos then… the nnewi people with so much ego agreed to build it themselves … so there shouldn’t be any encroachment to their land for expansion of roads.

I pray nnewi people should abandon dispute and embrace development.. behaving like they know better is a bane on them and restricting development.

Soludo please listen to Nnewi…

Ebonyi state get limestones free for construction unlike Anambra, which is the most expensive material in construction, Ebonyi generator massive IGR from limestone more than the market you mentioned, Ebonyi citizens might not be rich like Anambra citizens but their state government make money from formal sector, almost all the construction going on in Southeast, some part of Southsouth and Benue get the limestones from Ebonyi state, many construction companies have their quarry sites in Ebonyi like Julius Berger, Setraco, RCC, Niger Cat, Umuoghara Quarry Cluster, "Umuoghara Quarry Site , China Oriental Mining Nigeria Limited, Okposi Umuoghara/Echiaba Quarry Pit, MASTER ROCK QUARRY, Alaoji Construction, Seaman quarry site and so many others, Ebonyi state government make huge IGR from that, go and price one truck of limestones, a road project that will cost Anambra #10 million, will cost Ebonyi #2million, mind you cost of labor is cheap in Ebonyi when compare to Anambra, Anambra oil and gas sector is still developing, our oil derivation is still very low when compare to major oil producing states

Anamabra got #4.2 billion in last year oil derivation check other states
Thank you good to know…

One year after taking over the management of Onitsha River Port, the concessionaires of the port, Universal Elysium Consortium Limited, reached an important milestone with formal receipt of the its first barges at the facility recently.

The epoch-making event happened on the August 16, 2023.

In a statement, the Managing Director of Universal Elysium Consortium Limited,

Dr. George Nwangwu, was quoted as stating that the barges were fully handled by the crew of Onitsha River Port.
The barges, which arrived Onitsha Port was a consignment of tiles from Ajaokuta to Onitsha.

It was expected that the arrival of the first barges would herald a weekly occurrence, going forward as there would now be a movement of 600 tons of tiles to Onitsha every week and 600 tons of clay back to Ajaokuta.
He expressed happiness on reaching the important milestone.

According to him, the activity helped take more than 70 trucks off the busy roads, adding that this was only possible and achievable because of the higher water level in the River Niger during the rainy season.

This, he noted, only happens for six months in a year due to the low water levels in the Rive Niger during the dry season.
He, however, pleaded with the federal government to dredge the river channel so that goods would be able to move through the river channel all-year-round as this would have immense benefits to the country.

He paid tribute to the operations team at the port which consists of the supervisors, dockers, crane operators, and forklift operators who really put in immense effort to ensure the operation was seamless and successful.

According to the Onitsha River Port chief executive, the goal of the company is to continue to strive to make the point that ort great despite all the challenges.
Thanks so much for sharing this news… you are the best.

To be honest this isn’t the first time onitsha receives barges…. So not clapping for that concessionaire.
Also I thought the concessionaire is to dredge the rivers? Why asking both FG and ANSG … honestly there so much uncertainties about the concession agreement and that thief Emefiele conducted..

Soludo should please look into it… so that concessionaire doesn’t eat from both mouth and do nothing..
If that port is working optimally our revenue will improve.

Soludo is really trying his best despite the paucity of funds. I pity the guy because he is trying to bring civility and orderliness to make Anambra a liveable place against the hitherto culture of impunity where the previous Anambra governors allowed its cities to develop like village concrete jungles.

Just take a look at Awka which became a state capital with Asaba on the same day, and compare them! The difference is that the governors in Delta paid attention to the proper development of the city with good access roads, while the governors in Awka allowed it to "organically" develop without any interference or concern about paying any attention to the provision of space for access roads and social amenities. In the same way, Onitsha was allowed to "organically" develop from the 1990s and beyond without properly mapping out access roads, parking spaces, and other social amenities. Making it the most "developed" city in Nigeria by way of modern residential flats, but the least habitable!

Thus, Soludo is solving this fundamental problem of the TOTAL PLANLESSNESS of Anambra cities since the 1990s and beyond from its ROOT! Soludo should be praised for his guts to take the tough decisions needed to rebuild Anambra cities and to demolish houses that encroached on the key major roads. It is NOT EASY.

To show that Soludo understands the problem, he proposed the building of a brand-new modern capital city in Awka North area where there is still ample virgin land and people have not built like mad people on the roads itself. Let us give Soludo some time to implement his vision. I believe he would finally achieve a liveable Anambra state for us. If he continues with the difficult but necessary determination to do things the right way.
I have a question to ask… if paucity of funds is Anambra greatest challenge please what about Ebonyi state? Didnt the Governor construct many good roads and bridges? Are we so poor we can’t construct good roads and bridges with covered drain and lights? Isn’t our Revenue way bigger than theirs?

Can’t you see that this is not about money is about the zeal to do them.

Now we have oil and gas added to our revenue inclusive of the markets already there .. why do we keep crying over nothing ?

Also we have a river port that still not ready… Soludo should call out that indolent ghost concessionaire because his primary duty is improve the economy and marketability of the state.

Do not be deceived on the paucity of funds as claimed. Soludo awarded 14km of Roads at Okpoko at the cost of N9b i.e N650m per km. Even the almighty Julius Berger will be interested at that rate, but no, we are using an unknown company at that huge cost.

I have nothing against direct labour, but it should be limited at hinterlands of the state. We need seasoned contractors to make the state livable.

BTW, Otti is using Arab Contractors and Craneburgh in most of his contracts in Abia

Soludo should concession Roads to reputable contractors, and let them toll the roads on completion and we will pay to use instead of paying the equivalent at police check points.
.

Soludo is crafty and obvious even the solution park is outrageously costly… I just wonder… he is purely squandering. He is not showing any 3D graphics of the solution park … you will be disappointed with the outcome of a project gulping 2.4billion
Alex Otti is making waves because everyone is seeing the good works he is doing in a short time, he went on tackling the bad roads leading to all markets in Abia state to boost the economy.
When Dave Umahi was working everyone saw it and was happy..

The same with willie Obiano who did so well, now Soludo is littering excuses every where … about rain… is rain not falling in Aba..there is more rain fail in Aba than Anambra.

Soludo economic part way for Anambra is still not clear

Wow.. Afghanistan.. good riddance… this tells you the best resources a state or a country should have is not mineral resources but Human Resources with intelligence and innovation etc.. Anambra has so many rivers but to dredge the onitsha port the useless concessionaire is preaching about dredging this tells you the will and zeal is not there .. he could have started dredging immediately.

Secondly roads built by Souldo even though is in the rural areas are very thin but it should be wide so that migration to those areas can be automatic.. this reduces concentration on the major towns.

I am tired of Golgotha roads in this time and age. Many our roads needs dualization …now it is a hard task because of the dense population in those areas.. so why not from now build wide roads that will not require future dualisation making it wide enough for the future…our leaders simply lack Vision. Repeating same mistakes over and over.

Well I am not against Rural Roads… accessibility is key to all round development … in this 21st century is commendable he constructed a rural Road.

Now I have seen the rural road … why is it not wide … is still very narrow… rural roads are connected to the nearest towns… so is an extension of towns. If the rural villages gets overpopulated how can they expand the roads?
This size of roads are allowed where the places are already populated before construction …

What’s wrong in doing things right?.. why do we like narrow Golgotha roads even when both sides are free? In this age and time.. is this the bold step of mega city development… foolishness

CBN STAFF GAMES KICKS OFF IN ANAMBRA

Today, Monday the 17th day of July 2023 marked the beginning of the Central Bank of Nigeria Staff football competition, with Anambra hosting some of the zonal derby at the Awka Township Stadium.

The Port Harcourt and Owerri branch of the CBN had a fierce contest to the admiration of spectators. The hosting of the opening games of the CBN football competition in Anambra in spite of the projected stories of insecurity is a strong indication that the Government has not only reclaimed the terrain, but emboldened the people to go about their normal activities on any day without fear of intimidation by criminal elements.

1. The Orient Refineries Project
2. The Anambra Light Rail Network
3. The Anambra Independent Power Plant and Natural gas network
I totally agree they are very important as they will give Anambra state a big boost on revenue.

But truth be said Anambra state government has no control over the orient refinery and independent power plant as they are province of the FG, perhaps Soludo will only serve as facilitators in that regard.

Another project that will also give a big boost to Anambra state is the River port, after the successful concessioning nothing has been shown. Soludo should reach out to the concessionaire and find what is delaying the reality of the project and it’s usage and update Ndi Anambra because we are in limbo in that regard.

The Anambra state light rail Network is spectacular Soludo mentioned it only once but no word since then…

Everything is step by step: You will recall that Soludo met an empty account when he assumed office after the incompetent drunkard sunken our state into debt.

Obiano never addressed most of the important projects that needed serious attention.

1. Eke Awka was not touched.
2.Nnewi was completely abandoned
3. That Anam-Mmiatta road...a major economic road was abandoned.
4. Onicha was abandoned

Imagine if Obiano had the same passion and dedication Peter Obi had by now Anambra would be such a lovely place to visit. But we had a weakling who wasted 8yrs and the only thing he achieved was to liquidate Peter Obi's savings to hurriedly build an airport and ICC. Without Obi's savings Obiano would have ended up achieving nothing!

The few projects Obiano built was mostly sited in his region, and this shows how nepotistic he was. During Obi we had no issues of nepotism but Obiano introduced it and almost divided Anambra. But as you can see Soludo is reintroducing that Anambra oneness spirit of onye aghana nwanne: most of the projects Soludo just commissioned are not in his senatorial zone, they are mostly situated in Anambra north and central.

Therefore, i say let's be patient and give the man some time. A lot of studies were carried out before these roads were awarded. Soludo is a man that works with a plan. You shouldn't just start building roads out of sentiments. You must pay attention to roads that will stimulate economic activities.

For instance, he is trying to partner Kogi in building that road that will make traveling to Abuja by road from Anambra 3hours. That's a very important roads.

Eke Awka , which we expect Obiano to clean up was abandoned and now Soludo had to deal with it. Obiano was a big mistake!
It is quite foolish of you to say this rubbish…. You came to write without inquiries… our oil wells was carted to kogi state simply because Peter Obi didn’t construct roads to the oil rig as they pass through kogi…this is because it is totally undeveloped with no tarred road. under Obiano he tarred the first road in that area in the history of Anambra state and you are hating … he developed Anambra and you are beefing …why are you complaining aren’t those Anambra people? The had to build flyovers to access the Anambra rivers no one wanted to construct and is cut of from Anambra that place is now tarred and passable… the kogis are claiming our lands and waters if you don’t know and you are spewing rubbish …our saving grace is that he is from there… you are hating on your follow Anambra people. He fought a good fight to make Anambra oil producing and yet that is foolish of you to see and understand.

Same with Ogbaru another oil rig no access the built it… you are diving your own…
I know how Awka under Peter Obi I was schooling then in Unizik and I know how he transformed it…. Better that it was … let Soludo continue where he stopped let soludo build more flyovers in the capital

The same Obiano fought tooth and Nail to make soludo governor you all are comparing him with same Soludo so many factions that fought Obiano that time..
Another fool said ICC is a white elephant project… I wonder how uncivilized our people talk without reasoning even Gombe has theirs and many northern state has theirs so that huge meetings events and so on for your state can but foolishness hate and ignorance is a problem.

This how they said no need for Airport that delta , imo has so no need even when are two big illustrious sons are there…. When soludo said he wants to borrrow we started shouting he is a squanderer we have a long way to go… yet he hasn’t done anything wrong …

Obi this …… Obiano that….. we have had good governors lately and we should be proud from Ngige to Peter Obi to Obiano…. Also no administration is perfect …. During Peter Obi we had GEJ, we had Oil boom, but you will ask what big infrastructure did that give us under Peter Obi? Agulu lake hotel Peter Obi started but didn’t finish it…. It was during Obiano who remodeled it to give it a befitting four star hotel and finished it and handed it over to be managed … Peter Obi started Shop rite in Onitsha he didn’t finish it…. Obiano finished it … even our oil and gas was-held on contention to this day… thanks for Obiano’s intervention…let me let you know if you want to be enlisted as oil producing honestly you must lobby with millions to get a Nod from FG not to talk of “Anambra state” Obiano built bridges that will connect all our Oil producing communities and agrarian communities… that are cut of which caused contention of our most running oil wells to Kogi … Also Agriculture … we know Josan farms, coshcharis rice mills etc Obiano touched all cardinals of his four point agenda … Also I remembered how Aroma the then center of Awka was …. With a narrow ugly roundabout ….. however Peter Obi still did many things and best is in Education… however now there isn’t any oil boom we can still boast of key infrastructures Airport, Oil and gas, ICC , better housing estates etc and more akuluouno investments… we witnessed more street lights , better roundabout like DMGS roundabout as well as a stadium.

These comparisons is unhealthy… we need to be hopeful and encourage the present government….

Finally for someone to say that Anambra doesn’t need an Airport is so foolish to say so…. even when our illustrious sons are chiefs operating in that field is height of foolishness… they should go and see what Air peace has invested in Lagos and Abuja even idle northern states have airports and ICC and someone will open moth to say rubbish…
Oil and gas is bringing returns that will add to our revenue as well as the international Airport …

Please let stop comparisons ….

When I do talk about the fight Obiano put up to enlist Anambra state as oil producing state we thought it was a joke… I am glad that in these days of scarce finances Anambra is reaping the fruit from oil production….. thank you Obiano…..

I still task Soludo to make sure the aviation fuel dump Obiano planned for the airport is fulfilled there should be continuity.

So far so good I am impressed with soludo Good job..
