The minimum interest payable on savings deposited in banks across the country will be at least 10 percent per annum of the monetary policy rate.

In an August 31 letter to deposit money banks signed by Bello Hassan, director of banking supervision, the Central Bank of Nigeria said the new minimum interest will be effective September 1, 2020.
With MPR at 12.5 percent, this new directive means that the interest rate on savings deposit will go from 3.9 percent to 1.25 percent.
Hassan,in the letter, said the directive is in line with recent market developments

“The Central Bank of Nigeria has noted with satisfaction the recent declining trend in market rates in the banking sector, following the implementation of policies aimed among others at, stimulating credit flow to the real sector,” the letter read.
“In line with the recent market developments, the bank has reviewed the minimum interest payable on savings deposits as provided in its guide to charges by banks, other financial and non-bank financial institutions issued in December 2019.
“Consequently, all deposit money banks are hereby informed that effective September 1, 2020, interest on local currency savings deposits shall be negotiable subject to a minimum of 10 percent per annum of monetary policy rate.”

What's the whole essence of their conference, will it stop them from being errand boys and slaves to politicians? Will their clueless and stupid conference make an average Nigerian get justice for free? Judges and lawyers are part of the major problems in naija, they have been pocketed and they are all sold to the god of money. Wasted and rubbish conference.

After the meeting of the NWC of the APC which will be held at the instance of the President tomorrow, it would be decided that:
1. Ize Iyamu's victory at the Edo governorship primary should be formally upholded by Gideom led APC since Obaseki has gone forever.
2. Oshomhole suspension will be formally reverse and will be restored back as the National Chairman so as to further brighten the chance of APC victory in the general election. Remember that only him can lead the APC campaign against the the formidable forces of Obaseki led PDP as the immediate past governor and the presume godfather in the State
3. Akeredolu will be given the option of First Refusal of the APC governorship ticket in Ondo State.
With this development, it will later resolve to Win Win for the both sides of the coun. I foresee a stronger and united APC in the coming days

I hope you don't get shocked
