Pls help me tnk God ooo.... I gave birth yesterday on the 22nd of NOV.. clock in2 d hospital 8:30.... Was induced by 9pm bcs i was due by a day... N i gave birth 10:32pm to my prince charming looking very handsome tru Vagina delivery n with many tears thou, baby was 3.1kg at 35weeks... Didnt do scan b4 goin in2 labour so i guess e is 3.5kg at 40weeks (chai!!! D stitching no b here lol)

All sabi mamas, please help. I went to the market yesterday, I had craving for yam pepper soup. But the woman whose shop I went to refused to sell pepper soup spices for me. She said it is not good for pregnant women. That was my first time of hearing it, I ended not making it cos she scared the hell out of me.

Something else, I almost passed out at the market. I felt dizzy and started sweating heavily, then I blacked out. It was the market women who helped me. Removed my wig, eased my clothes and fanned me till I became conscious. Someone mentioned that it might be short of blood. If it is, can I take blood tonic or capsule? I’m thinking of going to the hospital tomorrow morning as well. I don’t know if this is normal

Pls try and see your doctor and always make sure you are hydrated carry your water with you, when I feel dizzy what I do is get somewhere to seat and drink chilled water, and like a mama said above avoid tight fitting clothing.
As for the pepper soup my mum warned me not to take it no matter how I crave it so I have zeroed my mind on that till after delivery. Take care of yourself and be safe teamie.

Wow... really?....I really do hope the vomiting stops soon cos it's now becoming too force full and I can't help it...also my bump isnt really that obvious yet at 16 weeks...most mornings I wake up with a semi flat belly..it's usually when I eat or feel bloated my stomach increases kinda but the next morning it's back to semi flat...before I got pregnant,some of my pregnant friends were even showing at 3 mnths....I'm a size 12 I believe

Like a mama earlier said bump size does not determine how healthy a baby is, myself at 25 weeks my bump is not even that big, though am a ftm too, when some of my preggy mates are already wearing maternity gowns, I still rock some of my everyday wears.

Good afternoon, has anyone taken Arthemed anti malaria drug before in early pregnancy. I'm 9weeks pregnant and down with malaria, the doctors gave me Arthemed, paracetamol and Amoxycilin tablet for me.

I used it when I was 6 weeks pregg my doctor prescribed it and it was ok for me, since its your doctor that gave you I suggest you go ahead with it. Happy bumping mama.

These doctors work hand in hand pharmaceutical reps trying to sell new drugs. You're right to ask first, read the leaflet well before taking and if you don't like it, ask to have it changed at your next appointment.

are we using the same hospital? This is exactly what was given to me plus Amino guard. Its said to have 24nutrients, I intend to ask my gynaecologists why he added Amino guard to it cos both drugs cost almost 6k.

Mama amino guard was not added to mine.

Have you ever heard of the FDA? Briefly, it's a federal government agency of the United States, that is saddled with the responsibility of impacting/regulating public health through the supervision and control of such things as drugs, vaccines, cosmetics, dietary supplements, even sperm donation. Suffice to say, it is like the NAFDAC of the entire world. Countries who are smart enough, produce significant portions of the food and medical products that the USFDA approve for Americans to consume and use in their everyday lives.

Now, the FDA through their laudable research, came up with a specific standard for dietary supplements that a pregnant woman should exercise, to safely develop a fetus...especially in cases where there might be nutrientional gaps, cos you never know. They ask you to look for any prenatal vitamin that includes:

400micrograms (mcg) of folic acid.

400 IU of vitamin D.

200 to 300 milligrams (mg) of calcium.

70 mg of vitamin C.

3 mg of thiamine.

2 mg of riboflavin.

20 mg of niacin.

6 mcg of vitamin B12.

10 mg of vitamin E.

15 mg of zinc.

17 mg of iron.

150 micrograms of iodine

In all my time in Nigeria, the only readily available prenatal I know that follows this standard to the letter and adds more in some of its versions, is Pregnacare. Sadly, a lot of patients think it's expensive. So what better way would you suggest the problem be alleviated and still targeting a similar outcome, than to recommend substitutes that closely follow the standard? Sadder still is the fact that most people these days (even Naija docs succumb too) will just pick three to four, out of them all -- maybe folic acid, calcium, iron....and be happy with their decision...even though we are a meatpie generation and don't eat as appropriately as our forefathers who didn't use supplements.

So so so....Pregna Multi is neither new, nor is it bad. I used to know it and it sure will do. I know it contains all the required nutrients, but some are a few milligrams off the standard. You can compare the constituents written on the pack with the list above or any list of the standard dietary supplements for pregnancy you know, to get the assurance you need.

Good day belleful mamas, I went for antenatal today and I was given a drug different from what I usually take, I complained to the pharmacist she told me the drug she gave me was my doctor's prescription, so I want to ask if anyone have used this drug before?

Shopping? It's not too early to start shopping before you will have to waddle to the market infact Zaynie is your best plug for your baby needs just give her the list of things you want and she will give you the best at affordable price.
We are team blue though I wished for a girl but I am very Happy anyways. Update on gender if you know already.
