Mirba: It is normal for the babies poop to change color at a certain age. It will vary in color untill it has the right one ;-) As for the pracetamol its only to relieve pain and fever like somebody else said already. Thanks mama the pcm was prescribed and I used it for the stipulated time. |

rvpbae: He doesn't need all that. Pcm is ok to soothe immunisation pains and relieve fever. Even gripe water and infacol isn't exactly necessary, hence should only be given if baby has colic. Some people dont even give at all.
With my first son, he had colic and used infacol with helped alot. When I was expecting my daughter, I bought infacol too, she is 6months plus now and the bottle is still here unopened. Just wasted almost 3k for nothing.
So just breastfeed well and his poop will go back to normal Thanks mama for the response. |

trevolady: I think the greenish colour is due to the medication, I understand paracetamol should be given if the child has fever.Pls get infacol(has no side effect) in place of gripe water.Medication should be given to babies if only recommended by a doctor/Paediatrician. Thanks dear for the response, I administered paracetamol because he received his six weeks immunization as for the other drugs I was totally against it but my mum and DH overpowered me saying it was administered to me and nothing happened to me. I guess I would stop the drugs. |

Mummy4life1: Hello Mummies,
Please, what can I use to cure the rashes on my two weeks old baby.
Please, don't read and pass. Abeg! Mama leave it and don't apply anything it will go on it's own. It happened to my son when he was 7 days old I used baby tribotan but it was not working and I was advised to leave it when I went for circumcision, and truly it disappeared. What you need to do is to make sure baby is on cotton material and don't cover him too much if you must use wrapper or flannel so that he won't feel too hot. Hope this helps. |

BS So my EDD was 6th March according to LMP and all the scans I carried out, I prayed to God to deliver on or before 6th March because I was already tired, but God had other plans for me, at 38 weeks I began walking long distances and climbing stairs to induce labour but DS was just busy enjoying his mansion in my belly, on my EDD which doubles as my ante natal my doctor checked me but no show as I was not having even Braxton Hicks so he told me to relax and check in the following week if labour fails to come I should come in for induction but he told me to engage in s*x and n*pple stimulation that it will trigger labour, that was how DH enter work oh but the following being 13th still no sign of labour as at then I was 41 weeks and doctor told me to come in on the 16th for induction since their policy is to induce someone at 41 weeks 3 days if labour tarries. 16th was on a Monday and on the 15th being Sunday I went to church prayed and asked God for a last minute miracle because I didn't want to go through the induction route, that Sunday I started having serious diarrhea and menstrual like cramps called my sister she said it was a sign hopefully before Monday labour will set in, By Monday morning it was still same way I took my bags and DH and I set out for the hospital, got to the labour ward Ward and told them how I felt I was checked and was told I was just 1cm dilated and having weak contraction so I will be induced by 12am of 17th and told DH to go donate blood in case it ends up as CS which he did and I was given a bed space. Around 5pm a midwife told me to come in for another VE by 8:45pm if no progress then the inducement will be administered by then the contraction was becoming stronger but irregular, the doctors had an emergency CS which delayed my VE till around 11pm and when I was checked I was 4cm dilated, the doctor told me he would come check me by 4 am to know how far I have progressed because based on my progress I will deliver by 6 or 7am at this point I was in great pains wondering if this was how I will continue for the next 7 to 8hrs I started crying and DH and my sis consoled me, hubby was not allowed into the labour Ward but elder sis was there with me rubbing my waist at every contraction and fanning me tell me not to shout but do the breathing exercise, I threw up severally and I didn't know if I was in heaven or on Earth,I couldn't lie down, I couldn't stand, around some minutes to 3 am I was 8cm dilated and I started feeling the urge to push but I was told not to till I felt like pooing I told my sis and the nurses came to check and was like madam this is your baby's head and I was told to push with the next contraction I did but baby was half way when contraction disappeared and baby nose was blocked so I was told they needed to give me a cut to bring baby out because he could not breath and I was cut, that was the most painful part of my delivery process but I had to do it and my son was out at 3:25 am screaming. I shouted thank you Jesus I was stitched though baby was takes to neonatal due to the presence of meconium in my water. DS is growing daily looks bigger than a two weeks old daddy is happy mummy is fully healed and family members are rejoicing. Vigilante is real. Thanks to this family for being there through out this journey may God give everyone here easy and peasy delivery as God answered me he will answer you, my active labour and delivery lasted just 4hours. MumDiamond: Lol... Teamie, same as me. Although, I’m 39 weeks and a few days gone. EDD is still weekend, but no sign at all. Now, every morning, My mother-in-law comes to my room to use anointing oil to pray and massage baby. I go just dey laugh. Baby wey dey fear this hot weather, e just kukuma dey chill inside the mansion wey e dey.
But I think you should go to the hospital, my doctor gave me an appointment next week for induction if baby tarries past EDD. Teamie it's no longer funny, everybody is just asking have I given birth, I can no longer make call or receive call without being bombarded with have you given birth? My mother inlaw every morning ask me how am I feeling any contraction yet? My appointment with doctor is on Friday if the labour tarries till then, we will think about induction although I don't want to be induced. |

As at my last appointment on Wednesday 26th Feb, I was scheduled to remove the cerclage on Tuesday 3rd March.
On Saturday morning, I woke up noticing that I had started losing my mucus plug so I got mildly excited that it was happening. I made vegetable soup and okro soup for the house, even unripe plantain porridge for myself lol.
Pre-labour contractions began on/off at about 2pm, and at 9pm we arrived at the hospital.....at least so they can remove the cerclage.
About 9.30pm, I was quickly moved into the theatre room and they started looking for cerclage but no way...it had grown into my skin and was not easily seen. So the doc decided to wait for labour to progress so she can push it downwards with labour pressure.
I was moved back to my room to continue labour. Contractions came back to back and I asked for epidural but the Specialist was not around and will not be coming in till the morning.
I was in A LOT of pain. I laid down, stood up, went to the restroom, vomited my breakfast lol. All these...they didn't want to keep checking how far gone so they don't trigger anything.
However, a few mins to 2am when they could see the amount of pain I was in, they checked and I was at 8cm. They quickly moved me back to the theatre to remove the cerclage.
That's when the main labour kicked off! No pain med oooooo....just a drip to keep me hydrated! I was shouting, sweating, getting tired. The doc had removed the cerclage at this point and just encouraged me to push whenever the contractions came.
It felt like a looooooong time of pushing but at about 2.15am, she came through by Gods grace.
They put her on my chest for me to see while the doc continued with the removal of placenta and his suture of the mild cut he had given me, still with no meds! Another episode of bare screaming.
Baby has been sleeping a lot. Apart from the suture pain, I'm fine by Gods grace and I give glory to God for the entire episode.
Best wishes to all the Mums incoming, may it be far easier for you. Amen
BS submitted for 1st March, 2020. Congrats mama welcome lo |

Mzleemah: B.S All praise and adoration to Almighty Allah for making the pregnancy journey a stress free one for me. At my 35weeks appointment baby was measuring 4 weeks behind according to fundal measurement doctor told me to go for a biophysical scan to know how baby is doing and bring it the following week (36weeks appointment). Scan showed baby was doing well but fundal height still behind, I was asked to see the consultant and he said I should go for another biophysical scan in 2 weeks time if the fetus growth is not significant I will be induced to avoid IUGR. 2 weeks came and the scan show increase in size but fundal weight was like 9 weeks apart that was how the doctor said he does not want to take chances. I was admitted and the catheter was inserted around 9.00pm contraction started 2 hrs later and was coming 5 mins apart but it was bearable I slept off by past 3 a.m. The doctor came to check me by 8:00 am and I was already 5 cm dilated he broke my water and set drip with oxytocin by 8.50 am and the drama began almost immediately. Contractions came with full force but I was breathing in and out instead of shouting later I resolved to biting the mattress. The matron kept checking and increasing the flow of the drip, I told her not to increase again. After some hour I felt the urge to poo and I told her to come check me she told me to push with the next contraction, I did and my baby head came out the should wss stucked and contraction didn't come she now said this baby will need resurrection the next minute like this another contraction came and I pushed him out and he cried out loud the matron said thank God no need for resurrection. The placenta was delivered and I had a minor tear which was suture. Baby weighed 2.4kg. I wish all the remaining mama stress free delivery. Team March I still remain your loyal cappo. Wow congrats cappo nice BS |
