Myself as a case study...

In 2007 when I gained admission into #fountainuniveristy, being a private school we were restricted from all manner of things to the extent of not allowing us to cook or buy food outside. It was so tough that we had to buy a plate of food for #150. From the little allowance papa gave me, I need to plan on how to survive.

At times we soak indomie and even soak biscuits.

I started thinking of what could give me additional income and recharge card business came to my mind because I was once a sales boy before my admission...but where would I get the money to start.

We all know this kind of business is risky so as its highly profitable (you just need to weigh your option and take calculated risk).

My current allowance then was #5,000 from which I will use at least #300 for feeding and transport everyday. (How did I survive?)

My approach was to become an independent marketer for a card dealer and became a sales agent in my hostel and campus.

From this business I do have a minimum profit of #15,000 (then, there was no virtual airtime.)

It was an additional advantage when we were moved to the permanent site. With influence of the hostel managers, I opened a minimart inside the hostel. I was able to provide solution to most of the problems faced by the students like getting food to eat within because then I served them with all sorts of provisions like hot bread, snacks, stationeries, beverages and so on.

I started by using my wardrobe as store before I beged the Manager to allow me use one of the available stores to keep my goods which was granted.

All my purchases were based on credit fercilities and I tried as much as I could to maintain a good credit score.

The same spirit followed me to service (NYSC) where doing my service year, I started employing people into my business and I started paying my rent and became more responsible.

All these didn't affect my studies because while other are sleeping at nights, I was reading. While they were resting , I was sleeping.
