When Chelsea were 2 goals down to Everton yesterday, 16 Jan. Abrahimovic sent this to Mourinho: "Hey José, I really thought u were the cause...u can't imagine d scores. sorry guy..we gonna sort things out" Minutes later when it became 2:2, he resent: "pls ignore my initial message. was an error. bye!" |
Before the Chelsea manager, José Mourinho was sacked on Thursday last week, the Chelsea team has been widely described as "Champions moving like scorpion". As if the players were not playing well, their results were nothing to write home about. Consequently, the manager was made the scapegoat with little or no blame to the players. Then, any team playing against Chelsea always came with target of receiving a "promo". Chelsea were indeed (ironically) dishing out "promo" to whoever that cares for it. Suddenly, the hunter became a victim of circumstance leading to the sack of the "special one". Some analysts condemn the sack, but in my book, it's ideal to save the situation. When a teacher is having rift with his students, understanding is always negatively affected. José, no doubt, remains a nice guy and an indispensable "Oracle" in football matters, but for the sake of the "students, their understanding and their results" it's a welcome development. |

The long awaited Ministerial list was announced submitted yesterday to the president of the senate, Sen. Bukola Saraki. Although he stated that the sealed envelope will not be opened until next week tuesday when the senate will have sitting, but almost all the national and local daily newspapers have had assess to the content of the envelope. Be that as it may, the worrying situation arising from the list is the conspicuous absent of any Imo state man/woman. Imo is the only APC state in the South East and is expected to have preferential federal presence. Now that the list is coming in batches like the university admission list, please Mr. President, we the people of Imo cannot afford to miss "admission" this academic year. Would you ipso facto, advice us to wait for next batch or pick supplementary form to facilitate our chances of admission? |
It was all fun after an interview exercise where a man in his late 60s, who applied for the post of a Truck Driver accused the interviewers of asking stupid question. The man, after a writing interview came out with a woebegone face, insisting that his age was not considered before asking him question of who he doesn't know. When asked why he wants to leave before the oral section, he enthused, "imagine, XxY = 49.... What is Y? Who be Y or do they mean Mr. CY?" |
I have heard alot about fake recruitment adverts online but I never believed that someone who calls herself a sister can actually deceive her so-called brother. It happened that I came across an Office Admin job vacancy with Jiji.com website. I could not access any email or link where I can forward my CV, instead I saw a contact. I felt arrived when I called the line and a lady picked up, telling me she is from my state. She sent an email for me to send in my CV which I did. Since then she has been busy sending me interview IV and mounting pressure on me to attend even when I told her that I travelled to east. At a point I became worried over her excessive calls but thought she was just trying to help a "brother". I left Imo state on Tuesday night just to attend the interview on Wednesday morning at Mushin, meanwhile I live at Lekki - you can imagine the distance. On getting to the proposed interview hall, lo and behold, it was a GNLD story. Ashamkonye Obioma quietly left the hall with a woebegone face. |
There is no gain saying the fact that the ongoing national economic meltdown is having a multidimentional effect in all nooks and crannies of the society. And no doubt, if not tackled properly will, apart from other things, have much negative effect on the growth and development of the educational sector. This was the experience of so many students/graduates of tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Meanwhile, in a chat with some graduates of Imo State Polytechnic Umuawgo, IMT Enugu, Abia Polytechnic, etc who shared their ordeal on how non-academic staff distort money from them during final year academic clearance while claiming of not being paid of over 4-6 months salary. I therefore join other graduates to advice the non-academic staff, lecturers, others to establish legal way of pressing the authorities to meet their demands instead of rubbing Peter to pay Paul. Also appeal to the government to save the soul of these poor graduates. By Ashamkonye Obioma. |
It appears everything about the dispensation of president Buhari is turning against the South East geopolitical zone. It has appeared however that the practice of federal character system is optional to Nigeria leaders. But I can remember vividly that the former president Jonathan administration accommodated people from different zones, ish some argue that Jonathan's administration was not the best, nevertheless, the analysis depends on the point of assessment. Supprisingly, so far, PMB has made about 9 to 10 appointments without an Igbo man making the list. Does it mean that no Igbo man is worthy of working for/with the president or that PMB has no trust in the igbos? Recently, APC leaders were reported advising the Igbo leaders to convince the current DSP, Sen. Ekweremmadu to resign, only then'll the position of the SGF be zoned to them. Such mathematical permutation of "-1 = 1" loose one and get one is anti democracy, repugnant to natural justice, equity and good conscience. By me, Ashamkonye Obioma F. |
The story of Peter and his total obedience to Jesus Christ in the Holy scripture is a popular one. No doubt, many read it for reading sake without drawing any meaning. The Bible records how Peter approached Jesus concerning their fruitless efforts in catching fishes. The Bible says, Peter did not doubt Jesus despite having tried severally and caught nothing. Obedience is the secret. Peter Obeyed Jesus and the result of his obedience was too marvellous. Remember, it was the same Peter, the same style, in the same River where he had tried and failed, and the same net. But because there was Jesus entwined with the faith and Obedience of Peter the result changed. Have you gone a particular street, submitted so many job applications without success, Jesus Christ is speaking to you now, DO IT ONCE MORE and receive a miraculous call. Whatever you have lost confident in, only one more time and you will testify the glory of God. Jesus Christ Loves You! |
Common Sense: Day by day people face situations that would require them asking questions. There's nothing bad for one to ask question in the face of confusion. Although some disgruntled persons believe that it's risky to ask question, so also it's very dangerous not to ask. Regardless of the fact that confusion has been mixed up with conviction, making curious minds unable to seperate the chaff from the grain, no mind rests until it finds an answer. Apart from other basic steps in searching for an answer to a particular question, which involve: first; knowing what to achieve with ur answer. Second; knowing where to get a desired answer, and most importantly, arranging ur question properly for clear understanding. How you put question determines the answer you will get. Ask right and get it right....My name is Ashamkonye, Francis Obioma and I just want to make Common Sense. |
Most youths today have become so obsessed with certificate acquisition without necessarily putting into consideration the lie of the land especially as it concerns the increasing rate of unemployment entwined with the nation's over population. Nigeria is blessed with oil and other natural resources, no doubt its management has been an issue of great regret. Unlike before, the number of First-Class graduates produced by our tertiary institutions has been on the increase, yet, with no commensurate professionalism. One then wonders how some of these sanctimonious mere certificate holders managed to pave their ways. Admiteddly, the Nigeria of today has gone crazy with "sound" certificate thereby putting much interest in container instead of the content. By and large, acquiring both skill and certificate to be able break the jinx of unemployment is always rewarding... My name is Ashamkonye, Francis Obioma and I just want to make a Common Sense. |

Interview period has been one of the tempting periods most people have experienced. The difficult part of it is that, in most occasions interviewees are asked questions they never expected. This is a case of a young man who applied for a waiter position in one of the leading hotels in Victorial Island, Lagos state. On the day of oral interview, the M/D of the hotel who happens to be a white was present to monitor the interview process. As soon as this young man was called upon, it appears the M/D who had remained silent was tapped to speak. Meanwhile, the interviewee dressed in a white long sleeve T shirt upon black jean. Without further ardour, the white man enthused "young man, why are you flying your shirt? Please may you raise your T shirt up?" Immediately the young man raised up his T shirt, the white man shouted "Oh, shit! Is that white or brown singlet you are putting on?" |
