Nzewodo: The OCDA GM, A Standard of Discipline, Integrity, and Service Since his appointment as the General Manager of the Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), Hon. Franklin Nkem Nzewodo has distinguished himself through dedication, professionalism, and uncommon commitment to public service. His impressive knowledge of the job, strong work ethic, and high level of discipline have not only redefined the operations of the OCDA but have also yielded tangible results in terms of revenue generation. By diligently plugging revenue leakages and enforcing compliance with due process, Hon. Nkem Nzewodo has significantly increased OCDA's internally generated revenue. His outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, as the Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS) recently honored him as the Best-Performing Head in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in revenue generation - a testament to his effective, efficient and examplary leadership. Not one to chase wealth or indulge in political flamboyance, Nzewodo is known for his modesty, contentment, and principled lifestyle. A devoted husband, father and Servant in God's vineyard, he remains grounded and focused on his responsibilities. He understands the vision of his principal, His Excellency Sen. (Dr.) Hope Uzodinma, and executes his duties in strict adherence to the Constitution and extant laws of Imo State. Unsurprisingly, his loyalty, discipline, and results-driven approach have earned him the deserved trust and continued support of His Excellency. What more does a servant want? Unfortunately, success often attracts envy. It is disheartening to witness a few disgruntled individuals continued to feel unsettled by Nzewodo’s outstanding achievements, resort to spreading baseless falsehoods in a bid to smear his reputation. It appears laughable! Well, no one can stop people from paying for newspaper pages, at least to enable journalists make more profits. However, the public should not be swayed by unsubstantiated narratives driven by bitterness and sheer frustration. The OCDA GM remains focused on his mission - delivering quality public service with human feelings and contributing meaningfully to the development of Imo State. His legacy speaks! |

His Excellency Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has congratulated Senator John Azuta-Mbata on his election as the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, along with the Secretary General, Chief Emeka Sibudu, and other executive members. Notably, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu; a renowned politician and the President of the Ugwumba Leadership Center emphasizes that serving others requires tremendous effort. He however hopes the present leadership ably led by Senator John Azuta-Mbata with his level of exposure and wealth of experience in Nigeria politics will enhance the leadership's ability to serve Ndigbo effectively. Ugwumba emphasized the importance of unity among Igbo leaders, urging them to put aside their political differences and support the new leadership. He also cautioned politicians against exploiting Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide for their own selfish interests, instead advocating for a collective focus on promoting the well-being and advancement of the Igbo people.

FOA reports from Owerri... ....called on Emeka Ihedioha to emulate Nwosu for the sake Imo Following recent display of unwarranted political desperation by members of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, which has badly portraited the state, the Imo Transprerency Group (ITG); a team of visionary young stars has joined various groups and opinion moulders from far and near to describe Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, the Action Alliance (AA) Governorship candidate of Imo who upon his disqualification by the Supreme Court on the ground of double nomination from APC and AA gladly accepted the Apex court decision even when everyone knows the matter was wrongly decided. In the same spirit of respect to constituted authorities and love for the state, the ITG called on Mr Emeka Ihedioha, the Supreme Court ousted Governor to emulate Nwosu instead of continuation in tarnishing the public imagine of both the state and Nigerian judiciary, and at the same time, endangering the lives and properties of Imo people. According to the group's spokesperson; "Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is a gentleman and a team player worthy of celebration and emulation. In Imo state, the fierce political war has been fought and won, and the hurly bully is over, noting that hens have come home to roost, yet the only victory known to man is the triumph of collectivism, not individualism. Interestingly, this fine gentleman politician received a high dose of political missiles and blackmails not because of any inkling that they don't love him, nor see the good in him but simply because of the assumed toga worn him by his traducers. "They called him names but all they could count as his sin was that he was married to the daughter of the then incumbent governor, alleging that he had no personality or identity outside that" "As a result, many arrows were thrown at him to dislodge him as if anything could be a better option other than him. He proved himself courageous in the face of fierce intimidation and remained focused in the face of distractions. Ugwumba Uche Nwosu demonstrated uncommon attitude of calmness and non temperamental stead. It is difficult to see any individual who could have performed better in that situation he found himself but rather he became resolutely calm and loving. No doubt Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has disarming charming calmness, a strong quality for public leadership. The political war went on in Imo state unabated and the narratives began to change. Many people at the end of the day narrowed their thoughts to a single issue. A deep look at the recent political events in the state had shown that Ugwumba Uche Nwosu was the only one who demonstrated an uncommon quality as a team player. He has demonstrated calmness and focus, respect and understanding to the judiciary which was used to put a stop to his lofty dreams of governing Imo state. He believed in the rule of law and the judiciary as the last hope of the common man. He never challenged the court out of line, neither did he push for anything that will bring the honorable court to disrepute. Despite using the court and instruments of law to wrong him and shortchange him, he still accepted every judgment and urged his team, the strongest Political structure that exists in Imo State as at today to support anyone who will emerge victorious at the end of the supreme court case. He promised to work with whoever that the supreme court will confirm as duly elected Governor in the spirit of "For The Sake Of Imo" agenda. In the end, the candidate of the APC, Senator Hope Uzodinma was declared rightful winner and Ugwumba stood on his promise to support amidst criticism and unhealthy media attack being sponsored by Ihedioha's team. Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is indeed an amiable young man, full of intelligence, humble to a fault, 100% team player, a man who give adequate respect to his elders and the nations institutions, and above all, his trust in God is 100%. Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as a man full of wisdom and understanding, didn't see his Governorship ambition as a do or die affair hence it doesn't worth the blood of any single Imolite. This is the reason he decided to give peace a chance by accepting the Supreme court Judgement that disqualified him as the guber candidate of last year's election. Even though he had the right and good opportunity to push forward for a review which could possibly reverse the Judgment to his favour. Ugwumba is a man that has respect for Imolites, the judiciary and the Nigerian nation, and that made him tender his support to any of our sons that would be favoured by the supreme court final Judgement in regards to IMO Governorship election petition. In view of this, we are hereby advicing Hon Emeka Ihedioha to follow the footsteps of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu and allow peace to reign for the benefits of all Imolites." |
FOA reports from Owerri As the electoral malpractices recorded in the 3 L.G.As of Mbaise Nation in favour of Chief Emeka Ihedioha during the 2019 Imo Guber Election have brought a big shame to Ndi-Imo, INEC and Nigeria at large, a group known as Agent For Democratic Change (ADC) has warned Chief Ihedioha to refrain from making carricature of the state among the international communities. The group noted: "It is no longer a news to anyone that Chief Emeka Ihedioha manipulated the 2019 Imo guber election results of the Mbaise Nation in his favour, which paved way for him to be declared the winner of the 2019 Imo State Guber Election. But did he last as the number one citizen of Imo State? No! He left unceremoniously... Emeka Ihedioha who has been asking for the review/reversal of the Supreme court judgement which removed him from office on the 14th of January, 2020, is building a castle in the air, for those who go to equity must go with clean hands. Emeka Ihedioha, no doubt, is at the first place guilty of what he is seeking for, hence the MBAISE NATION'S ELECTORAL BOMB that illegally favoured him through the help of Prof. Francis Ezeonu and Prof. Francis Otunta - who disregarded both the rule of law and the electoral act of 2010 of Nigeria (as Amended) and declared Ihedioha winner. What a shame! Emeka Ihedioha's desperation to rule Imo State at all cost has exposed his wickedness, and lack of respect to the rule of law by challenging the Apex Court and at thesame time making mockery of Nigeria's judiciary in the eyes of the world. Did Emeka Ihedioha meet the requirements of the 2/3 spread of the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State? The answer remains a capital NO! But, how then does he feel when he prays to both God and the Supreme Court for a reversal of a soundly delivered judgement that thus favoured Sen. Hope Uzodinma whence he was the initiator of the ELECTORAL FRAUD in question? Is this disrespectful and despicable issue not going to cause him a bigger problem afterwards? Time shall tell anyways... We therefore advice Chief Ihedioha to watch his back and think twice at this particular time and halt in his actions against the Supreme decision of the Supreme Court on the 2019 Imo State Guber election, before it is too late. To be-fore-warned is to be-fore-armed. Enough is enough! |
Francis Obioma Ashamkonye Owerri .... promises to assist them in tertiary institution The APC House of Assembly member representing Nwangele State Constituency in Imo state House of Assembly, Sir Amarachi Chyna Iwuanyanwu (Mr. Capacity) yesterday, Thursday paid the Joint Admission Matriculation Examination Board (JAMB) examination fee of no fewer than 100 students from the 11 INEC component wards in Nwangele LGA. SEARCHLIGHT ON RT. HON. COLLINS CHIJI, THE SPEAKER IMO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY _Toronto Certificate saga and the dance of the chameleon ..._ ...more revelations and inconsistencies in his claims Recently the print media, Big Truth Newspaper, and other national newspapers carried the headline news of Toronto certificate allegedly by the number three citizen of the state, the speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Collins CHIJI. Eagle Eyed Reporters swung into action to conduct more detailed investigation into the allegation of fake certificate saga. *Granted, the minimum academic qualification required for election into State House of Assembly is WASCE or SSCE* but if anyone goes ahead to make more claims, if it is found to be false, the person is liable because it means lying under oath, an act of perjury. "What exactly did RT. Hon. Collins CHIJI do?.... Does it mean that he did not attend secondary school?...... or that he did not earn Doctorate Degree as he claims?" Eagle Eyed Reporters perused his documents that are in the public domain and observed inconsistencies. Following his filling of Form CF001 for Isiala Mbano State Constituency, an INEC document ahead of the 2019 elections, RT. Hon Collins CHIJI stated his date of birth as 27th October, 1957 while the scanned copy of his voter's card reads 27th October 1959. *Why should such discrepancy be?* The Eziama-Osuama Isiala Mbano born legislator said that he attended Comprehensive Secondary School Aba and obtained his WASC in 1977, after his primary school education. He claimed that he travelled to Italy where he studied at Universita Degli Studio Di Reggio Calabria, where he obtained Higher National Diploma (HND) in ceramics in 1981. Following the common practice across Europe, HND can be awarded by a university to a student who completed course work but could not do project work. And in order to do further programs for postgraduate programme, the student is expected to further through Degree programs, obtaining Bachelor's degree or doingPost Graduate Diploma and then proceed to Master Degree before Ph.D. There is no report that Mr Collins CHIJI had any other qualifications after his HND before the purported Doctorate Degree. In addition, the inscription on documents is wrong as follows: 1. Doctorate Degree not "Doctrate" as is contained in his document, can a university make such grammatical error? 2. The inscription of "Doctrate" in his document presented as letter to convey the award of degree has a *font character which is inconsistent with the body of the letter, suggesting that that there was forgery...* 3. The letter conveying the Doctorate Degree was not signed by the appropriate authorities It is therefore very obvious that the claim of Doctorate Degree is false and a lie under oath. NYSC EXEMPTION OR DISCHARGE CERTIFICATE Following the procedure of the NYSC, and for the fact that Mr Collins Chiji Claims to have graduated from his HND program in 1981, he was bound by law to present himself to do one year compulsory NYSC program without waiver. And as such, the following inconsistencies were found: 1. He failed to present himself to participate in NYSC compulsory service as was required by law. 2. The rule states that once someone graduates within the age range, less than 30 years, as was the case of Mr CHIJI who graduated at 24 years, even if he spent more years and enters over 50 years of age, he was bound to return to do compulsory NYSC Program without waiver. No exemption for such people is permitted. One will only be exempted if the person graduated from first degree when the person has passed 30 years of age or that the person served in military or police service. 3. The reality is that Mr Collins CHIJI failed to make himself available for NYSC and in 1993, when he was 36 years, ostensibly due to political demands, he went and forged NYSC exemption certificate. 4. This is true because the exemption certificate no. 055494 does not seem to exist. 6. As a result of the forgery of NYSC exemption certificate, Mr Collins Chiji has avoided going to answer to the summon by NYSC where he is expected to explain how he received his exemption certificate. 7. The purported exemption certificate differs from standard exemption certificate pattern of NYSC. They used handwritten inscription to append "On grounds of Age". 8. It is a fact that the inscription differs from NYSC format whereas NYSC is known to do computer printout of the certificate and separate the reason for exemption. 9. Since he has been summoned by NYSC, he has been unable to present himself and honour the summon, to clarify the source of his certificate of exemption and how he obtained the so called exemption certificate when it was statutory that he must submit himself for compulsory service having obtained his first degree, HND, at 24 years of age. 10. From the foregoing, it is very obvious that RT. Hon. CHIJI Collins has questionable documents as his claims are inconsistent with realities. 11. In the spirit of due process and the rule of law, any act of lying under oath is perjury and it's criminal. So Mr Collins CHIJI should submit himself for thorough scrutiny as the school he claimed to have obtained his _"Doctrate"_ degree from needs to certify that he is correct and also NYSC should also do the needful ...he should answer NYSC summon. 12. Toronto certificate cannot be in charge of the most educationally sensitive people of Nigeria, the Eastern Heartland. Francis Obioma Ashamkonye Owerri Scholars define maintenance culture as a habit of protecting or preserving something or the process of keeping something in good condition for future or immediate use. Lack of maintenance culture among political leaders, which has negatively affected our infrastructural development has not only drawn us backward but will cost of great deal of time and resources to move in the same speed and acceleration with other neighboring states. The fact that the Rebuild Imo government of Chief Emeka Ihedioha inherited both functional and uncompleted projects from the Rescue Mission administration of Dist. Senator Rochas Okorocha is undoubtedly correct and ideal in any administrative transition. But what seems unpatriotic and repugnant to natural growth is when people support the body language attitude of the present Governor to overlook Government properties giving that completing them would amount to dividing his glory with former Governor whom he has variously accused of littering the state with unfinished projects. Imo state cannot be different from other states where political leaders see government as a continuum and not an opportunity to fight opposition, which will eventually set the state steps backwards. In Imo state today under the watch of His Excellency RT Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, one can rightly say that the attention of the RebuildImo government is focused on Sen. Rochas Okorocha and all opposition of the present government, and the attaining consequences of this unwarranted political war can be clearly seen on government properties suffering abysmal abandonment at various locations. Even though the present government has arbitrary provided various seemingly adequate reasons to defend their negligence to the dilapidating government properties, the lame reasons didn't go down well on the mind of the masses who insisted Chief Ihedioha's growing rift with political opponents doesn't warrant drawing the state backward. Among those projects abandoned to weeds and criminal operators are Justice Oputa Court, Free Mother and Child Hospital, General Hospitals, well equipped ICT centres in all the local government areas, Okigwe and Orlu sports Stadia, Orji flyover, Storey building classroom blocks in all 305 political wards, roads, employments, the beautiful state-of-the-art Akachi prayer centre, Freedom Square water fall, etc. While most of the aforementioned projects are currently demolished in parts by youths allegedly sent by the present government in an attempt to erase Okorocha from the minds of Imo people, Imolites find it difficult to believe Chief Ihedioha who has come to claim oblivious of those demolitions having watched him done nothing to arrest the culprits or repair the projects. Politics aside, no rational Imolites will attempt to justify Chief Ihedioha's approach, instead agree with me that he is totally bereft of maintenance culture to make Imo better than he met it. |
Francis Obioma Ashamkonye: 30/09/2019 As the outcome of Imo state governorship election petition tribunal judgement continues to attract hue and cry within and out the state and following the resolve of the Action Alliance (AA) party together with its governorship candidate, Chief Uche Nwosu to appeal the judgement, a non-political group has called on the judiciary sector not to betray people's confidence in it as the hope of the common man. In their statement, the group known as Agents For Democratic Change while admonishing the judiciary to live up to their expectation equally reminded them of the effect of strangulating justice in the nation's democratic sustainability and growth: "Like the holy sanctuary, the common man in Nigeria believes the judiciary to be a place to seek freedom from the oppressed. Over the years, the efficiency and effectiveness of this all important organ has by extension strengthened the rule of law where people no longer take laws into their hands, instead rely on the judiciary to restore fairness. Conversely, where the judiciary can no longer uphold justice, equity and fairness, the sovereignty of the judiciary becomes worrisome and doubtful. By and large, the case of Imo state governorship election has come as a test on the integrity and proficiency of the judiciary, and the whole world are keenly interested in seeing justice delivered without compromise - the case of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu verses Gov. Ihedioha as the case-study. The miscarriage of justice by the Imo state governorship Election petition tribunal is such that came as a surprise to Imolites who are acquainted with the Constitution of the feederal Republic of Nigeria, who also faulted the judgement as the court couldn't quash the illegal declaration of Emeka Ihedioha as governor for not satisfying the requirement of the law by scoring 2/3 vote spread a candidate should score, before declaring him the winner. The judgement if not redressed would amount to betrayal, negligence of our constitution; and Imo people will not be pleased if Ugwumba Uche Nwosu fails to exhaust all judicial avenues by Appealing the judgement towards ensuring that justice is served in the matter and that the clear dictates of our Constitution remains sacrosanct. It is therefore obvious to note that the Tribunal erred but our belief remains that Justice will prevail in no distant time. Democracy is anchored on the principles of justice and where it is frustrated, it becomes a threat to collective confidence of a people" ®AGENTSFORDEMOCRATICCHANGE |
Francis Obioma Ashamkonye PRESS STATEMENT SUBJECT: IT IS NOT YET UHURU FOR THOSE WHO RODE TO POWER THROUGH ILLEGAL ROUTES Earlier today, the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal delivered an unpopular and unacceptable judgement on a petition brought before it by our governorship candidate, His Excellency Ugwumba Uche Nwosu. While we retain our confidence in the judiciary and their ability to dispense justice, we have reasons to believe that the judges who served on the Imo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal were either misled or were distracted from paying adequate attention to the overwhelming evidences presented to her, by our lawyers, and the irrefutable testimonies of our witnesses, hence, the error ridden verdict they passed earlier today. Significantly, the panel failed to address the real contentions in our petition, but chose to hinge its conclusions on curious technicalities like; the non-presentation of the certificates of our statistician, who was the PW22. The panel was wrong to have concluded that this witness is not an expert in mathematics and statistics, as he possesses the relevant qualifications and teaches statistics at a well regarded higher institution in the country. It is regrets that the panel merely glossed over the issue of constitutionality as it affects the 2/3 spread, which neither the 1st or 2nd respondent was able to disprove. Also, on the issue of of non-deployment of card readers, over-voting and Voters Register especially, in the three Mbaise lgas, the panel curiosly discountenanced the pile of undeniable evidences presented before her. His Excellency shall hearken to the demand of majority of Imo people by defending the mandate they gave him freely during the last elections. He has therefore, instructed his lawyers, to immediately file a notice of appeal at the Owerri Division of the Court of Appeal. His Excellency remains grateful to the millions of Imolites at home and in the diaspora, who have remained unwavering in their support to him. He assures all Imolites, especially, the youths, artisans, our mothers, the clergy, professionals and all classes of his unrelenting loyalty, service and patriotism to the cause of the common. His Excellency thanks in a special way; the leadership and membership of our great Party; the Action Alliance, at national and State levels, leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress at both State and national levels, our hardworking legal team and indeed, the members of the Ugwumba Uche Nwosu Campaign Organization as he urges them to remain resolute, for the light is sure, at the end of the tunnel. Signed, Onwuasoanya FCC Jones Director, Media and Publicity Ugwumba Uche Nwosu Campaign Organization 21st September, 2019.

Francis Obioma Ashamkonye reporting The Action Alliance had not won even a councillorship seat anywhere in the country since its formation sometime in 2005 till recently when His Excellency Ugwumba Uche Nwosu picked the Party up from the dustbins and injected some life into it. The Party which was battling for survival and would have most likely been deregistered after the 2019 elections, sprung to life became the third most popular Party in Nigeria after the APC and the PDP. The story of how this sudden turnaround in fortunes is directly tied to the massive popularity of its governorship candidate in Imo State, His Excellency Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, and the national appeal of its founder, and funder, Distinguished Senator Owelle Rochas Okorocha. The Party is believed to have won the governorship election in Imo State, won the Imo North Senatorial District election, won four federal house of Representatives seats and about 21 House of Assembly seats, in Imo State. However, the Independent National Electoral Commission is accused of having connived with the People's Democratic Party to rob the AA of its well earned mandates in several Constituencies, but the most heartbreaking of these electoral heists is the governorship election which is believed to have been won by His Excellency, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, with a comfortable margin. However, some INEC officials connived with the PDP and other undemocratic elements to steal this mandate. As it is that every crime leaves a trace, the perpetrators of this mindless electoral heist left not just traces but clear landmarks that shouting 'frausd'. It is therefore easy to understand why the beneficiary of that fraud could be desperate to distract attention from a deep investigation into the fraud, but is rather focusing attention and most likely, huge public resources into trying to raid the camp of his biggest nightmare in this election, and possibly discourage as many foot soldiers of the Youth Revolution as possible. Ihedioha's lawyers are said to have advised him that his loss at the tribunal is unavoidable, considering the well spelt out arguments and the watertight evidences adduced by the AA governorship candidate, His Excellency Ugwumba Uche Nwosu. It is believed that if the tribunal makes the mistake of refusing to declare Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as the winner of that governorship election, then, a run-off is imminent. Governor Ihedioha would understandably be ready to break the banks to ensure that neither of the two options happens. As most Nigerian politicians would do, Ihedioha is possibly walking around with bags of money looking for a way to buy himself more time in power. The current crisis rocking the AA in Imo State and even nationally shows glaringly the hands of an Ihedioha in it. While some people have openly accused the Imo governor of doling out billions from the over 55 billion Naira he inherited from his predecessor, to ensure that the Action Alliance is put in disarray, it is understandable that a man who has spent all his post-university days playing politics and flirting with power, would do anything, including closing down the accounts of the State or even shedding blood, to ensure that his first experience of holding executive powers is not cut short. However, he might not be able to help himself on this. Ihedioha's strategists are said to have advised that investing on defending their illegal declaration as governor would amount to a waste of time and resources, as no panel of judges with the most basic knowledge of the Nigerian Constitution would uphold such illegality. Having failed at attempts to query the nomination of His Excellency Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as the AA governorship candidates, through the sponsorship of some moles like Leonard Okolienta and Myke Ikoku, the troubled thieves of the umbrella Confraternity have seemingly resorted to buying off buyable commodities within the AA leadership to cast a legal doubt on the eligibility of His Excellency Ugwumba Uche Nwosu to stand as a candidate for governorship, given some Constitutional grounds. First, they got the deputy governorship candidate of the Party to defect from the AA and joined the PDP. In their very poor analysis; since the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria demands that for a candidate to be eligible to stand election as governor, he must have a deputy governor nominee. The Ihedioha camp believes that they can bring up the argument that Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is not qualified ab initio to stand the election, hence, lacks the locus to challenge the outcome of the election. I will not teach them the angle to that law and argument they failed to factor in. It is better to leave them chasing their own shadows. Ihedioha, a master political coupist, likes keeping many doors open at the same time. He must have imagined that should the argument of not been eligible on the basis of not having validly nominated a deputy, fail, then, the Party itself to, being the platform on which the Ugwumba Uche Nwosu candidacy stands should be pulled off his feet. To that end, they may have thrown millions of dollars into extracting an empty and baseless press statement from a usually cerebral, strong-willed and steadfast big brother, Kenneth Udeze. It should soon dawn on the rain drenched and sun scorched umbrella wielders that whatever investments made on trying to cast questions on the eligibility of the Ugwumba Uche Nwosu candidacy has fallen through. The best way that Chief Ihedioha could make the best use of the illegality he presently enjoys is to give the best services possible to Imolites within the shortest possible time. He might be fatally shooting himself on both feet, if he believes that the billions he inherited from his predecessor is to be diverted for sponsoring distractions against his political rival. © ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES

Francis Obioma Ashamkonye June 17, 2019 In line with the suspension of the National Chairman of the Action Alliance (AA), Kenneth Udeze, the party has withdrawn the letter of withdrawal submitted to the Imo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal by the suspended chairman. The suspended chairman had written the Election Tribunal that the party was withdrawing all petitions challenging the outcome of the Imo State governorship election. Represented at the Tribunal sitting on Monday by the National Legal Adviser, Barrister Anokia Peter, the party reaffirmed that it will pursue the petition before the Imo State Governorship Election Tribunal to a logical conclusion. It added the suspended National Chairman acted without the consent of the National Think Tank Committee of the party. The Imo State chapter of the party has ratified the suspension of the National, following his suspension by his Ward and Local Government Executives, as well as the State Executive Committee of the party. The State Chairman of the party, Elder Uchendu Ahaneku, accused the Chairman of acting ultra vires by unilaterally ordering the withdrawal of the petition filed by the party and its governorship candidate in the 2019 election, Uche Nwosu, against the declaration of Emeka Ihedioha as the winner of the governorship election. He said that it is the National Think Tank Committee (NTTC) as the highest decision making organ of the party that can give such directives. According to him: “The National Chairman and the national Secretary have no power to arbitrarily withdraw the petition. “The decision to challenge the results of the election in Imo State was a collective resolve and resolution without any resenting voice. “Uche Nwosu is our choice and candidate and any report about the withdrawal of the petition is laughable and an aberration. Nobody has any constitutional right to take any action in the matter without carrying Imo AA along. “We have a party constitution and the NTTC has denied being part of that decision.” We will swim, sink and sail with Uche Nwosu.” He added the national legal adviser is also in a better position to act on behalf of the party in all legal matters.

Ashamkonye Obioma Francis Many media houses have made it a policy to identify Ugwumba Uche Nwosu with no other tag but 'in-law' or 'son-in-law' to Governor Rochas Okorocha. This seems to have become an agreement among majority of the media houses in Nigeria. And the way they go about, someone may begin to think that in our culture or even our religion, being an in-law is a taboo or maybe, derogatory. Some people may have been led to think that a son-in-law is supposed to sell his rights to personal aspirations, especially, if his own father-in-law had attained such heights. Uche Nwosu's life did not begin from that point when he walked Uloma Rochas down the aisle. Nwosu, the son of a poor man, had reasonably broken even in life before he took Uloma's hands in marriage. He met Rochas about twenty years ago in Owerri, using his platform as a students' union activist. He was attracted to Owelle Rochas Okorocha, not because of any family affiliations, but as a result of his intelligence and creativity. Owelle retained him as a staff. Within that period, Uche Nwosu earned the trust of not just his boss, but those of members of the family, especially, the Madam of the House, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha. The young man's unpretentious humility, honesty, kindness, loyalty and intelligence earned him a place, not just in the heart of his boss, but among other staff of the Rochas Group. He was the envy of all the other staff and even members of the Okorocha family. Uche Nwosu formally took Uloma in marriage when he was a Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Development. Before then, he had served in different capacities as Special Assistant to the Chairman of Nigerian Aviation Management Agency, was an aide to President Obasanjo's adviser on inter Party affairs. He also served as National Financial Secretary of the Action Alliance, a very promising political Party at the time. He was Director of Finance on the Rochas Presidential Campaign team, gaining huge experiences in public administration, Party politics and governance. He was a real estate practitioner, a very intelligent entrepreneur who had availed himself of training opportunities in different highly rated workshops and seminars. He had been involved in international business negotiations in the agricultural and aviation sectors. As Special Assistant to Owelle Rochas Okorocha, he played supervisory roles in the Rochas Group which has interests in the aviation sector, real estate, automobile industry, pharmaceuticals and general contracting. He was also involved in the Rochas Foundation, an NGO that runs the flagship Rochas Foundation Colleges, which has now extended its free education program to children of the poor across 55 African countries. Like Jacob in the Bible, Uche Nwosu was a diligent servant who got genuinely attracted to the daughter of his boss. If Uche Nwosu was not trusted, if he was an efulefu, Rochas and his wife would not have, for any reason allowed him to marry their first daughter. Remember Laban, Jacob's father-in-law was a wealthy man whom Jacob, the father of Israel, had to serve for Laban for an additional seven years just to secure the hands of Rachel in marriage. In the Bible, there are many instances of how a son-in-law is supposed to relate with his in-laws. Also in Igbo tradition, and I should think, in most African traditions, the in-law relationship is vital and respected. A person's character may also be gauged based on how well he relates with his in-laws. A son-in-law who earns the trust of his in-laws is a good man that can be trusted. "He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord". That is according to Proverbs 18:22. It is a thing of joy when a man marries a woman who brings him so much favor from the Lord, and it is only sadists that would have any problems with that. It is of course, no one's fault if those fixated on another man's marriage life were not fortunate enough to marry such a beautiful, virtuous and lovely wife as Uche is lucky to be blessed with. There is more to Uche Nwosu than just being a son-in-law to His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha and that is what we are supposed to be talking about. What are the new things he will be bringing to the table as governor of Imo State? Will he be a chip off the old block or a better brick? How has he handled previous opportunities given to him in government and what benefits do Imolites stand to reap from his administration? These are things that will form the basis of our discourses in the coming days and weeks. Have a great Sunday! © ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES

By Ashamkonye Obioma Francis Ahead of APC National Convention scheduled to hold on Saturday, 23 June 2018, Barr. Simeon Iwunze (Whiteman) has in advance, congratulated the Onuimo LGA born legal counterpart, Barr Emma Ibediro on his very articulative, convincing steps towards replacing Sen. Osita Izunaso who has been widely accused of stealthily stepping down national assignment for personal gains especially during the nationwide APC congresses, which by implication marred his credibility and thus truncated his chances of being reelected as National Organizing Secretary of the APC. Whiteman, the front line contender of Okigwe North Federal constituency assures Ibediro that with the developing factual information and happenings around the convention environment, his victory as the next Organizing Secretary of the ruling party is inevitable. Iwunze, the marked 'Mr. Legislative Expert' further commended gov. Rochas Okorocha over his unrelenting effort in protecting Imo State from the hands of 'Agburu Ojoo' group whose target is nothing less than personal aggrandizement and calculated return of Imo to the hands of few selfish elements, adding that Okorocha's numerous achievements in the state deserve everybody's accolade, insisting that such monumental achievements can only be sustained and improved by a rescue mission compliant. |

...Francis Obioma Ashamkonye As we celebrate this years children's day, the Transition Committee Chairman of Nkwerre LGA, Barr. Onwukaike Paschal has congratulated in particular the most wonderful breed of children of Nkwerre LGA, describing them as a true representation of the future. Onwukaike noted that in a world where wave of unfortunate civilization, pressure group influence and all forms of social malady have synchronized the younger generation and thus distanced most from the acceptable life decorum, Nkwerre LGA children have maintained obedient, discipline and hardworking disposition. Discussing the impact of free, quality and qualitative education in Imo state as made possible by the rescue mission government of Gov. Rochas Okorocha, the council boss, in agreement with the view of the Iconic American Actress of note - Audrey Hepburn, who argues that, "A quality education has the power to transform societies in a single generation, provide children with the protection they need from the hazards of poverty, labour exploitation and disease, and give them the knowledge, skills, and confidence to reach their full potential,” said Gov. Okorocha, has paid the highest premium ever for every Imo child to succeed. Similar, the young and ebullient TC who recently picked Chairmanship nomination form ahead of July 14 scheduled Local Government election in the state, who in his speech maintained that his driving force was to ensure general support of the people of the area for Ugwumba Uche Nwosu's governorship victory, says like Rochas, Uche Nwosu has continued to support free and quality education in the state through payment of examination fees, supply of school materials and repair of classroom blocks. He made bold to vouch for Nwosu's ability to continue to sustain the giant stride of his Excellency especially in education sector. In recognition of various bodies deeply committed in the safety and training of children, the TC extended his congratulations while encouraging more sensitization on the need to protect the Nigeria child from child trafficking, sexual harassment and all forms of bias discrimination. He therefore called on parents and guardians to strive hard to properly evaluate the child-parent relationship with every possible attempt toward establishing high moral values for their children to emulate.

Reacting to this development, the State Development Council (SDC) Youth Leader of the community - Comr. Agiridei village is one of the villages that make up Amaokpara autonomous community in Nkwerre local government area of Imo state. Created in August, 2007 from the old Umudei village under the regime of Late Nze A.M.O Ashamkonye as the President General of Amaokpara Patriotic Union (APU), the village has a population of about 11,000 people residing both at home and in diaspora. As an autonomous entity, the village otherwise called "Ogbu-agu" has its peculiar traditional/cultural system of operation, which however, does not contradict the general culture and tradition of igboland. The village respects and holds in high esteem all the traditional practices of igboland, especially those that are not repugnant to natural justice, equity and good conscience. One important remark about the village is the kind of youth she has. Like the wise ones say, any youth who will aspire to become a leader tomorrow should be a follower today, Agiridei youths are naturally humble, discipline, hardworking, intelligent, not only obedient to Gods order but also abhor all kinds of evil practices that can attract ancestral retribution. Among the families in the village are: Ekwem, Ibeh, Ashamkonye, Dike, Ibegbulem, Nnadozie, Nwalozie, Onuoha, Oguzie, Uzoeshi, Ndukuba, Osuala and so on. Regarded as the youngest (so far) in Amaokpara community, the village since its creation has been waxing strong and mighty in all community competition and responsibilities. The oldest man in the village is Nze Ezugo Awuzie, who by all standards should be in his late 90s or early 100 years. As old as he is, Nze Akaose as fondly called by all looks agile and if not exempted, could still be active in monthly sanitation exercises. The land and her fruits are blessed with abundant wealth and aspiring and lucky youths. This can be buttressed in the physical achievements and projects of her children. A trip to the land will leave you worried why it's still called "a village". Currently, there's no pagan in the village. Though, it does not suggest that everyone is " born again". However, it is verifiable and just to say that the level of evil practices has drastically reduced. The village is hospitable. Ish. Does not condole recalcitrant and indecorum from strangers. Their daughters are usually beautiful with attested peerless character. There is no outcast in Agiridei village. This is not because the village does not have regard for it but because she is a free born, and has always ensured that none of her sons brings in an outcast through marriage. I am glad to have Agiridei as my village. ASHAMKONYE FRANCIS OBIOMA Sec. Gen. Agiridei Development Union (ADU) 10/06/2017 |
