Congratulations bro. You should get your SSN in about 2 weeks though. I got mine in 3 days. I was at their office on a wednesday and by saturday my SSN was already in the mailbox.

Thanks alot @Bigfrancis21, MsNas, Juntod, Rijo and others, I went back to the Social Security Office today and the man confirmed the error was from him that it should be ready in a maximum of 4 weeks. I'v done all the paper work at the HR and I'v been authorized to start work while awaiting my SSN. I really appreciate you guys.

Hello my people, please I need a way out of this. I was at the social security office yesterday to apply for my SSN, but to my greatest suprise, the man said he got it from his computer that its not going to be ready until after 46 weeks due to a discrepancy in my date of birth. we were both shocked because he checked all my documents and saw that my d.o.b is the same and correct in all. He advised me to visit the immigration office which I did, but they got no information on me at all. I am so confused because I need to write my SSN on the documents I'm to submit to my school's HR because my TA job starts next month.

Please what could be the possible cause of this and the way out. Thank you in advance for your suggestion.

Never knew I had a NLder on board, Datanonymous, until we stopped over at dubai. It was fun to have met such a humble fine yoruba guy. We didn't meet again when we landed at JFK cos he has an aunt yo chill with in NY but I had to connect to GA via US Airways.

or is der a diference between it and letter of reference

it depends on the school but most schools accept online recommendation. They automatically send a 'request for recomendation' email to your referee once u fill in his/her details in your application. I could remember during my application, 2 of my recomenders (drs) would ask me to bring my system with my modem to their offices (claimed they were busy) so they could just send the letter (I would even composed and filled myself while they jst vet) and a prof even trusted me with his email and password that I logged in into his account to send a recomendation whenever I needed one..lol. It all depends on your relationship with them.

use american airlines (www.aa.com), search and book your local flight there. You can also use www.kayak.com. You'll need your mastercard and your securecode in order to book a local flight.

You will need to call emirates on +234 1 271 7600 and get their current exchange rate before you make the payment, so you wont have to over(under)pay. You will get your e-ticket in the email you booked with after a maximum of 4hours.

did u put the payment on hold?..if yes, I'll advice u walk into any first bank branch with your cash, its very easy once you tell them you are paying for emirates flight..you dont even need to go with an account number. And if you wanna use your gtb mastercard, you dont need their account number, go to 'manage your booking' and then 'pay now'. I guess you'll only need your card details and your securecode. Hope this helps

I mentioned access visa card coz thats the one most guys on here recommend in paying for these exams. I'm so sorry i dont have the card, it was a friend in the us who helped me with the payment when I was registering. Why not try get one from access?
