Uncouth: Chad, Somalia, DRC, Mali, Sudans, Libya, Nigeria....you know what these countries have in common? a large proportion of their countries are effectively controlled by Islamists and bandits. You should be the last people to ever throw shade at any other country
"You should be the last people". Mouthbreather you don't know who the heck I am and what "shade"? By the way.....
rvp20182: Committee of what? Lebanese of all people own WEST AFRICA.
So one or a handful of Lebanese droplets in a river of Nigerian businessmen, investors, entrepreneurs, and billionaires makes "West Africa" Lebanese Owned"? Your so dumb it's sad. Stop self-projecting yourself onto others. Who is the Richest man in Africa and what does he look like? Let's look at the next wealthiest Nigerians below him....
Being one of the many investors or in the committee which is overwhelming native Nigerian doesn't make it "Lebanese Owned" you slowpoke. I know you Kenyans are used to seeing Europeans/Asians doing everything but you need to limit that mindset to your home colony.
rvp20182: You Nigerians are really allergic to the truth.
Lagos is 70-75% slums. Nigeria housing deficit is staggering. I think annually about 0.2M and I think historically something close to 15M non-slum housing deficit.
Kenya has housing deficit of 2M and we are building 0.5M houses to bridge the deficit in 5yrs. You can bet in few years we would have made slums in kenya an history - if we invest 25B dollars that have been pledged by investors.
rvp20182: Samrobo, I know you're very hopefully about your country but until you have multinationals linning up to invest in Lagos - Eko City aint happening. Your economy has tanked - and poverty is increasing - because the growth rate is not even equal to the population growth rate.
Look at Nairobi - booming like Asian (Indian & Chinese) cities - as it consolidate it's position as Africa’s new HQ for multinational firms
rvp20182: All we have seen are renders. Or huge sign posts. We know without Oil money - none of those wet dreams will become reality. Except maybe Dangote - who basically OWN NIGERIA.
I've literally been posting contruction sites along with them this entire time. Are you really that retarded or are you just in that much denial?
rvp20182: A loan is your money. You're servicing the loan. It ceases being your money when your default like Nigeria did severally before. kenya has NEVER defaulted in any of it's loan and the creditor then RECALL THEIR MONEY. Kenya has NEVER asked to be forgiven loans by PARIS club like Nigeria famously did.
Chinese are lending and investing in us - because they see a UNIQUE african country that can think better than BONOBO. You guys just depend on OIL but you act no better than monkeys.
Sure you keep believing that with your terrible Kenyan economic and diplomatic skills.
Stevoh18: We're done with skyscraper argument, you don't have one because your gdp is fake and you don't have reasons and resources to build them
Despite the fact Nigeria is literally building artificial islands/Land forms, largest refineries, and balancing multiple city scale mega projects all at once for the whole world to see? Mostly without loans.
Problemkid1: 2030 Oba, Sammy and AskiaHaram are you guys seeing what I'm seeing they're waiting for 2030 to get to Johannesburg, Cairo level while Abuja, Lagos, Dar es Salam, Johannesburg and Cairo are getting to the level of Europe countries levels so what are we still arguing about with these people for Pete's sake
Anyway? This is 2019 ranking, most beautiful and developed cities in Africa from your blogger Abuja, Lagos, Dar, Tunis, Cairo and Johannesburg are the big boys in Africa while nairoslum is the capital shitthol in Africa
rvp20182: Do you have height restrictions or just RESOURCE CONSTRAINTS. Can you wake up and build 100 floor building in LAGOS - yes - but only in LEGO . Let me give you an local example. Nakuru city in Kenya has 10 floors restriction. The reason it's sits on a faulty line and is susceptible to earth tremors. In Nairobi most estate have varied height restrictions - single dwellings - some have 4 floors heights - but in Nairobi as soon as heigh restriction is lifted in a zone - you see SKYSCRAPERS sprouting immediately - like Westlands, Upperhill and now Kilimani - coz we GOT MONEY TO BUILD STUFF.
"Sprouting Everywhere" that's a very liberal use of the term. and now your counting donations and Chinese loans as "your money"?
Stevoh18: 10m Nigerians are sliding into extreme poverty yearly... they'll be closing 2019 with 100m people representing 50% living in extreme poverty, while 80% will be living below poverty line...
With the oil....!!! Its high time Nigerians should wake-up and smell the coffee
I see my schooling has rattled you so much you have retreated back to posting Blog statistics and Amateur unprovable internet articles.
tylann: Nairobi is more developed than all Nigerian cities
Germany and usa all have skyscrapers
Stop running away from my question like a scared little child. Are you telling me the individual cities of Washington, DC and Berlin are more developed and wealthier than Nairobi with little to no "Skyscrapers"?
rvp20182: I am glad you're getting handful - 30 floors - as Kenya aims for 70-80 floors. You have a long way to go. You're still show casing buildings that every tom, dick and harry in kenya can build. 10-15 floors buildings.
So Nairobi ahead of Washington, Dc and Berlin in development then?
Stevoh18: Because Berlin and DC has height restrictions otherwise they should have had the tallest buildings esp in DC, in Berlin they are maintaining the heritage of their old structures...what about Lagos/Abuja are there any restrictions
samorobo: Forget cairo and joburg start with dar, kigali and Adisa ABBA. By 2030 cairo will be done with their $35bn city and joburg, capetown, durban, will be done with theit brand new city by 2030..go online and watch video on NEW CAIRO CAPITAL AND SEE TGE LEVEL OF PROGRESS THEN START LOOSING ALL HOPE.Go and make money first before coming to build let alone compete..you are out of the league
Stevoh18: No. It is much more developed than Lagos/Abuja
But how is Nairobi not more developed and wealthier than Washington, DC and Berlin if Nairobi has more "Skyscrapers"? I'm only following your own logic....
tylann: Because Germany and USA are developed countries and Kenya is not
So are you telling me that Washington, DC and Berlin are more developed and wealthier than Nairobi despite not having as many, if any at all "Skyscrapers"?
tylann: Jealousy because your ugly cities dont have beautiful hotels
There are plenty of beautiful Hotels in Nigeria. There just not the center of the country because Nigerias not a colony that depends on tourist, handouts, and slum adventurers to survive.
rvp20182: Why are Nigerian excited about 10-15 floors buildings. Those in Kenya are gazillion. Is your country so undeveloped. Please post anything 30 floors and above
I have a question for you, is Nairobi more developed than Berlin or Washington, DC? Simple yes or no question.
rvp20182: I am glad you asked about Konza. Unlike the wet dreams of Enugu or Abuja centenary or even EKO Atlantic...Konza exist on the ground and construction is ongoing. South Koreans are going to build their famed KASIT soon.
You mentality deficient little Indian slum dwelling prostitute, what the heck is this? And who asked about your Korean love-vendor daddy?
