You have to follow the same procedure,whether the company is recruiting or not,you have to state the position you can handle effectively in the cover letter,e.g if you read accounting state it in the letter that,you can handle storekeeping,stocktaking,accounting records and other cash-related posts,e.t.c.Goodluck bro.

Differences b/w a cover letter and an application letter are:1.the writer's and recipient's addresses are not included in a cover letter,while they are in an application letter,2.in a cover letter there's no need for heading i.e Application For The Post Of....,while it's compulsory in application letter.3.a cover letter is a letter sent with th cv when applying for a job online,while application letter is a hand-written letter which must be attached to a cv when applying for a job in person.4.a cover letter must always be ended with "Yours faithfully",while in the case of an application letter,if we start with the name of the addressee e.g Dear Mr John/Mrs Ayoade,it must be ended with "Yours sincerely",while it must be ended with "Yours faithfully" if we start with Dear Sir/Madam. Similarities:1.They both indicate one's interest in a job,2.They must both include Dear Sir/Madam.Goodluck to us all !!!

You're definately expected to send both ur cv and a cover letter whether they ask for it or not,it's a letter that indicates your interest in a job and it must not contain your address,u'll only start with sir/madam on the top left- hand corner,followed by the body and normal letter conclusion,do not write any heading i.e "Application For the Post of........",these are the differences b/w a cover letter and an application letter.They must definately be sent via attachment,and the position you are applying for will be the subject of ur mail.mind u,you're expected to wait at least 1week after the expiration of the job advert,except in the case of bank's&oil company's jobs,which could take at least 3-4weeks before u're contacted.I hope this helps,Good luck bro.

It's been over a year now that I've been searching for a job and It's been one disappointment or the other,I've actually travelled from Lagos to Ibadan,and Abeokuta in search of a good job but,all to no avail.Sincerely,I never ever thought I would stay this long before getting a job,even common teaching job,some private schools would tell me to teach three different subjects(ss1-ss3) for just #20,000/month.Honestly,it's been so frustrating and befuddling and at this juncture,I'm no longer interested in searching for any job,all I want now is to be self-employed.I really need somebody that can take me as a computer engineering apprentice/trainee,somebody that can train me on graphic and web design for free or for a token that will not be too exorbitant,bcs as I am now I'm not worth more than #5,000.Though,I've always wanted to be a computer engineer,my initial plan was to get a job and use the little I earn to learn it,but it's rather unfortunate that the job is not forthcoming.I will really appreciate anyone that can take me in as his/her apprentice,bcs now I'm ready to put my pali (certificate) under my mattress to achieve this goal.I don't wanna search for any job again,but rather,I wanna be self-employed.Thus pls,train me!!!!! I later got to know from another thread on nairaland that,this eduprof of a thing is a big scam.So I started googling,but couldn't find anything relating to this polytechnic,if truly such an institution exists,it will definately have its own customised email address as well as official website,why would they use "eduprof" when other institutions are using their customised websites and email to recruit,so google well my dear friends for this is a bigger scam!!!!

why not? You can get a bank job with ur grade,bcs banks these days are not after ur result but what u can offer.but make sure u come out with an upper credit whenever you go for ur hnd.good luck!!!!

Pls guys,I really need you to help me out on this issue.It's been long I've been searching for job,and just of recent,I applied for teaching jobs in two different schls which is what I'm so passionate about.Fortunately,I was invited for an interview at the two schls,I went for the interviews and I performed excellently well,but they told me they would get back to me after both written and oral interview,and it's going to about a month now that I've not heard from them.But this morning,I saw a factory job online and bcs I'm so tired of staying at home doing nothing,I had to call the number on the job advert and they asked me to come and start work tomorrow.Pls,should I go for the factory job or continue waiting to hear from the two schls? Don't forget that I have HND(upper credit) in Accountancy.Thnks a lot.
