TravelRe: *** General Irish VISIT/TOURIST VISA Enquiries *** by Atinukemi23: 4:04pm On Jul 21, 2025
Are you allowed to renew passports beyond 6months validity ? I don’t think so, passports are still currently valid for 11months and by december then we have 6months left, we may put the travelling dates forward maybe November or first week in december.
If not because of the crazy waiting time, our intention is to travel by September for a week but with the crazy waiting times that is not going to be possible.
TravelRe: *** General Irish VISIT/TOURIST VISA Enquiries *** by Atinukemi23: 10:37am On Jul 19, 2025
Ashirioluwa:
You need enough time. Give at least 3 months for the application processing.
Thanks for your reply.
Another small concern, my kids passports expires next year June on the 10th, they currently have 11months left and we plan to apply next week to travel in December for christmas leaving them with less than 6months(5months and a week ) validity after intended date of travel and return which is less than 6months is that going to be a problem ?
TravelRe: *** General Irish VISIT/TOURIST VISA Enquiries *** by Atinukemi23: 2:54pm On Jul 09, 2025
Best to work towards christmas then so for travelling in December, you recon we apply this month or August ?
TravelRe: *** General Irish VISIT/TOURIST VISA Enquiries *** by Atinukemi23: 2:41pm On Jul 09, 2025
Hello all, how crazy is the waiting time for dublin visa ? family of 4 ( one adult and 3 children ) we wanted to visit turkey, but looking at the cost of travel for September flights and the visa fees we might as well visit dublin cost is almost the same.
We obtained schengen visa from France last year sept for a month and we visited France, italy and spain 10days in total.

We are thinking of trying dublin for the first time to travel during the school holiday in september for a week any luck if we make the application now ?
with the extensive waiting times, if the waiting period overlaps before a decision is made would that affect the outcome of the visa ? Thanks.

MummyHalo:
Hi, please which one of the two options did you buy?
Any is fine it is the excess that is different it means what you will pay out of your pocket in support of treatment either 50 euros or 100 Euros.
We bought both and the one for the 100euros was actually bought by mistake because it is for Family of 4 and it was fine.
Hope this helps.
All the best.

"Long written" yet you said it was a phone call....Okay o
OMG, long written epistle was how I narrated all in WRITING and it was quite alot and having to put all together.

As it seems I believe some thought it was a fabricated story lol.
The fact that we got a phone call doesn't mean someone else will .
I just thought I would help.
Anyway to make this easier I am not the one travelling from Naija, I helped my Uncle and his kids apply here online, easier to use a UK card to make payments and all that, even though my uncle was in doubt they may not be granted due to their non international travel history only to few african countries only, and when he called me shortly after he received the phone call and was narrating how the conversation went I was SURPRISED because we were waiting for pick up email not a CALL, if it was a business visa or spouse or a study visa then maybe but for a short stay ? Who would have thought ? and the call came in from a landline which is 02014628484 ( obviously if you dial the number it will not ring)
I am only few stops away from Eurostar Stpancras station and we are going to join them in France to spend time together before they return to Nigeria.
I just thought it would be better to let others be aware that you MAY be called and in case you get a phone call be prepared, if he had not picked the call we obviously don't know what would
have happened, but I told him he will
Be granted since he has clarified the consular doubts.
But if some still think its a fabricated story, I honestly do not think I have to keep explaining myself, I personally was begining to get worried when the waiting time was getting longer.
But to each of their own.
Thanks to those who reached out to me privately asking about the pick up email as they were concerned and this are people who are frequent travellers and had multiple.
But for my uncle and his kids this is their first international visa, of course some may say it is not a big deal but it is for them.
Even here in England with your BRP france dey chop person eye anyhow, greece is far more better sha make sure you have a valid return tickets with payment confirmation you are good
This one wey schengen visa don turn to Gold alot of us has been in the game since, expecially the family of EEA national days before UK comot, we don't pay a dime.
All the best everyone.
I am out of here.

The visa officer told you that he's afraid he can't gurantee a first timer a multiple entry to visit Italy after visiting France and it will be when you get susbsequent visa? It's either you added this part or you didn't hear what he said.

You don't need a multiple entry visa to visit any Schengen country. Multiple entry visas allow a person to return to the Schengen region after exiting the Schengen region. In this case, Italy is a Schengen country and you don't need a multiple entry visa to be able to go to Italy from France.
Absolutely, it was a long written epistle, when he mentioned do we know we can use a schengen visa to travel to any other member of state and when he asked what other country are we looking to visit in future and we said Italy and that was when he mentioned as a first timer a single entry will only be permitted and if we get a subsequent multiple entry permit in future we can then use it the way we want.
Thanks.

Congratulations and thank you for the very detailed account of what transpired.

Based on my experience, Schengen visa is easier to get if you are a frequent traveller - especially to UK, US and Canada. They respect these Countries a lot.

Enjoy your holiday!
You are right, we have never hold any of those visas to any of the above countries mentioned before, hence the disbelief it was a big gamble we took and we made it.

You are correct,if you failed to follow immigration rule, that is the punishment....quote author=talentarena post=131493113]

OK great cos the last time I went to France with another visa I flew with klm and I was stamped in in Amsterdam, when I applied again I was denied so I applied again and I was called and told not to try it again bla bla bla
You are right, that is actually the Rule, you should touch down firstly to the country that issue it to you and you may then use the visa any how you like without visiting or transiting through the country that granted you the visa again until the visa expires.

They know alot of people do not actually follow the rule, you need to go to France desperately but no earlier appointment, but Spain or italy or greece has an earlier appointment, then you will deceitfully apply to any of those countries in other to get the visa out and you can then make your way to France instead, some do get away with it but its risky.

Visa Alert!

DHL delivered my passport today. 6 months visa was issued, after 14 working days. Although we are frequent travelers and expected a longer term visa, we are grateful all the same. Now we’ve a trip to plan!

Thanks to everyone here who freely shared information making it possible for me to submit the visa application without recourse to agents. I was able to package my application with adequate documentation proving socio/economic ties listed on this thread. Thank you all and all the best to other applicants!
Congrats!!

Waiting for pick up email also, 14 working days is today and still showing in process when I tracked it definitely before friday fingers crossed.
Enjoy your trip...

No vex o, you sabi speak FRENCH or understand at all ? ?
A country where they speak their language with less or no English, even the black africans from Togo, cameroon, senegal that lives there speak French, when you speak English to them they reply you in French.
Bruhh you definitely will not survive, the barrier of commuincation alone will make you crazy.
And it is not an easy language to learn very quickly over night, no be the matter of Je M'appelle only.

Hello all,

I am done with visa application but I've been unable to book appointment with TLSContact.

I keep getting "The website is under high demand" and temporarily blocked.

I want to send TLScontact a mail but I don't know their official email address.

What else can you advise that I do?

Please see the message.
You have to log out and log in back again

Try logging in different times
In a day you might be in Luck.

Even in the UK no appointment at all in London and Manchester only Edinburgh has few slots.
But tls is offering added value service, they will bring the biometrics to your home for £250 ?
Bruhhhh I weak.

Wow it’s now expensive. Paid N5,000 for each of us in May. And it’s 11 days of €35,500.
And yes there’s no family package.
Please what travel agency did you use for flight reservation ?

some stated they have a dummy ticket ?

is there any airline that allows you to reserve a ticket and pay at a certain date(s)
Or perhaps pay a little deposit ?
TravelRe: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Atinukemi23:
I have just sucessfully booked travel insurance on aiico ( https://ebusiness.aiicoplc.com) for 4 people
So it doesnt give you the option to do family package, you have to apply for everyone individually, personal/data page details, country of destination, date of travel and so on.
I selected the Europe coverage of €35500.
And there are 2 different types of Europe coverage, cover is also €35500 but excess is different one is €50 and the other is €100.
The one with €50 cost almost 13k per person and the other with €100 excess is 8500k per person adults and children ( for a week duration) and there are other choices to choose from.
Hope this helps.

Please what are the dates available on TLS for those who reserved their appointment recently as first timer ?

We have an appointment scheduled for Monday the 22nd that slot was reserved as at the 8th of June, as we were not given any slot for June, looking like we may have to reschedule and travel date is first week of September.

I doubt if we will see any dates in august.

I think the new increment will apply as per current rate on the day of biometrics
For example, I submitted my application in May 2024 and was informed on the form to bring 80 euros or about 123 k on the day of biometrics only for me to eventually pay 138k on that day which i think was the new rate of 90 euros effective from 11 june.
Thats crazy application was submitted in May too, and appointment is at the end of this month, one would have thought since you submitted before the 11th of June you will pay the fees specified on the registration receipt.

Hope it is not cash only ?

Tourist short stay visa you mean?
From 11 june 2024, the short stay visa increased to 90 euros for adults and 45 euros for children 6 to 11 years.
So multiply 90 euros by Naira exchange rate to get the total amount in Naira.
Please For applications submitted before the increment of the visa fees, and it already stated the cost, will you then be asked to pay the new visa fees on the day of your biometrics since the appointment date is after the increment ?
And is card payment allowed ? Or cash only ?
