hammerF: Some Ikwere people will tell u dey are Igbos and others will say Ikwere. If it was an apple, do u throw dem all a way becos some u consider bad?
Igbo nationalism is on the rise becos of this type of confusion caused by the Biafra war. U are going to see a more aggressive resurgence of igboness in the coming years. I lived in Ikwerre long enough, majority will tell you they are not igbo, only a few minority accepts to be igbo. Let this minority spread the campaign themselves and not igbos from outside Ikwerre. There are strong igno ethnicities in Rivers like Etche, Ahoada, Omuma, Oyigbo etc that we can pander to. This ikwerre debate is taking the shine off other igbo ethnicities in Rivers. I urge all igbos to stop this nonsense |

obailala: Why do people never get tired of this same endless argument?
Port-Harcourt is owned by the Ikwerres. To me, Ikwerres (just like the Aniomas) are pure Igbos, to the rest of the world, Ikwerres are pure Igbos. But then, the Ikwerre man claims and strongly believes he isnt Igbo, they even take offence when people refer to them as Igbos. So who are my to argue with them?... They arent children so why must this argument persist endlessly? Exactly my point, I get ashamed when I see igbos arguing these, making this Ikwerre's feel we cant do without them. I have lived in Rivers for a long time and I think igbos should pander to the tribes that accept their igboness and leave Ikwerre alone for God's sake!!!!!! |

Amarabae: I know ikwerres well like the back of my hand. My point is that Whether an ikwerre claim or deny being Igbo, it should not be an Ijaw man business. Btw, is it not recently that Kalabari people started claiming ijaw, because back then when growing up, kalabari people hardly claim ijaw but rather just kalabari. What about Epie-Atissa people in Bayelsa? I know some people from that area. They are not fully claiming ijaw. Some of them see themselves as a seperate tribe. So sort yourselves out in the ijaw tribe, let the Igbos sort themselves out. Degema people also deny they are part of calabari, A degema man will nearly lynch you if you call him calabari, thats why I tell people I rather talk about rivers state based on ethnicity. Me I dont even like Ikwerre people, I dont like when someigbos try to force them as igbos |

Amarabae: Opobo people are like "biracials" . They are a meeting point of breeding between Igbos and Ijaws. Intertrading, Intermarriage, Migration etc brought that close. But the Ijaw conscienceness in Opobo is STRONGER than that of the Igbos. They lean towards ijaw and are part of INC. Thats the bitter truth. This is not true, by the way, igbo is commonly spoken in opobo https://www.nairaland.com/2691100/igbos-dakuku-peterside |

Amarabae: morning too. The documents and history of Port harcourt is documented. Renaming it Igweocha is undiplomatic and silly. Just ignore them. Their is nothing wrong in calling Port Harcourt igweocha just like people call Lagos Eko and the rest. I have not really verified the igweocha name thing but if it's tru, then there is nothing wrong with decsribing port harcourt as such. |

I have always asked igbos on this forum to quit debating this Rivers igbo issue with TonyeBarcanista, giving him some sort of importance. He's not different from the average nigerian arguing pointlessly in Newspaper stands around the nation. If you need information about Rivers, look it up online or visit rivers yourself to get first hand information. Less discuss a more important issue which is a proposed meal ticket called APDA failing even before it started. |

Oyigbo that KANU held his rally is a boundary community with Abia but in Rivers state... To them, every part of Rivers is PH.... Smh Greater port harcourt city is located where? What is my own self, I'm not here to argue this, I'm here to celebrate the failure of ADPA.

ODVanguard: [s]This will be my last exchange with you coz you're a buffoon. The mere fact that you would compare the amount of pressure and constant repairs Ogun roads have to endure (we're talking about the busiest gateway state that everyone coming in and out of Lagos -- the commercial nerve centre of the entire country -- MUST pass through) to get to that backwater erosion-ravaged enclave of yours further exposes your foolishness and stark ignorance.
All your importers have to go through Ogun as they transport their goods to and from the East , and same applies to every other part of the country. In other words, there's absoluty no way anyone can enter or exit Lagos without going through Ogun roads -- which is why the state's roads are considered to be perhaps the busiest in Africa considering the amount of traffic it attracts. Now how the hell are you going to compare the amount of pressure and repairs Ogun roads have to endure to your state's? See why you are very stuppid? [/s] absolute nonsense from the one and only tinubu boy, still haven't answered my question |

ODVanguard: [s]See eh, the problem with you guys is that you talk and argue from a position of stark ignorance. As i have earlier established, even your own governor borrowed money to complete projects, and frankly, after revealing how dire Anambra's erosion menace is (at the last count the state govt revealed that there are no less than 700 eriosion sites across the state), I'd be more than willing to borrow some more if I were in his shoes, in order to tackle the problem head-on rather than wait on the FG like he's presently doing. There's absolutely nothing wrong with borrowing as long as it's for a justifiable cause.
The Ogun state you punks are deriding for its debt portfolio used most of that debt on infrastructure, so much so that the FG has come out to acknowledge owing the state close to a billion dollars (₦222.9-billion) in refund for fixing federal roads within its domain, the highest amount owed any state in the country in that regard (that amount represents more than 3 times the amount of debt the state govt currenlty owes). As you can see, the state didn't sit around lamenting and waiting on the FG to come and do its job before taking action. Y'all can take a cue from that instead of bitc.hing and bleating like a bunch of pussi..es.[/s]
http://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2016/03/23/fg-owes-states-n580-5bn-for-roads-rehabilitation/ Ogun state must have manufactured that figure from their anus. They think this one is another free money. lol. You forget to mention Anambra too is on the article you quoted but yet has better network of roads than ogun state. Any place it looks like they are sharing money, ogun state will be number one. What is the real debt profile of ogun state. How long before we have another osun in our hands |
