eezeebone: Oh yea true but if its an autonomous subsidiary, totally independent of the gtb here, then the transfer process may apply tho at a much faster rate. |

Charles. E: I think that's only possible if the nigerian bank doesn't have a different (intermediary) bank from the beneficiary bank. Say if your school's account is with hsbc and u pay through let's say gtb, if gtb's intermediary bank is citibank, hsbc can't be credit same day. The money wd first be transfered to GT's account with citibank, den citibank would move it to hsbc. This won't take a day. However if GTB's intermediary bank is hsbc (same as the sch's bank) and the transaction is made early in the day, the money could get to uk same day. This is my understanding of how it works. I may be wrong. |

Charles. E: I was thinking I'd print out the invoice stating the %discounts that apply then tick the box against the full 2% discount I paid. That should suffice. I was just wondering if I should call the school to ask for a letter that explicitly states the discount or just go right ahead. Wanna dot all I's and cross all T's. I'm late enough as it is. |

I just clocked something on my CAS. Actual school fees is 12650 with a 2% discount if full fees are paid before resumption. I paid (full discounted) fees of 12397 but here's what's written on my CAS regarding fees: "5.Course title: MSc International Business 6.Course start date: 24/Sep/2012 7.Course end date: 27/Sep/2013 8.Tuition Fees (academic year 2012/3): £12397 9.Details of any financial sponsorship or tuition / accommodation deposits taken 10.Passport number: Axxxxx Tuition fee Deposit paid: 12397 Accommodation Deposit paid: 0 " Shouldn't the school have stated its the actual full fees and not deposit? Or it doesn't matter? P.s: I've got my gbp7200 ₦ equivalent in my acct with a coupla nairas extra but not enuff to make up the sch fees diff shd I have to do that. |

justwise: Thank you @justwise. The email is a direct reply to my mail requesting for the extension so I should print the complete thread, yea? Here's what I initially sent: "I hereby request for an extension of resumption for purpose of my Tier 4 Visa application. Visa application processing time in Nigeria takes approximately 21 days hence, I would like to have resumption date extended by one (1) week from the official school resumption. This is because I won't be able to send in my application till 4th September 2012 as a result of the requisite 28-day waiting period for maintenance fee which won't be due until 3rd September 2012. Thank you" |

Hello everyone, hope y'all have have had a nice week? Sent a mail to my uni requesting for extension by one week. Here's the reply I got: "Dear X, Thank you for your email. The enrolment commences on 24th September and classes start on 1st October so it is important that you enrol on the 1st October or a few days later the latest. The UKBA are aware some of the students will be arriving late. I will also inform the school." Is this okay? Or should I call to specifically request for a letter to take to the embassy? Thanks |

honey86: What if one uses ziplock bags instead of wrapping? Ziploc is good cos it also seals in smell and what-not but the bits of crayfish or even fish move arnd and won't be compact. Clingfilm successfully seals in smell and makes packing of those lose bits compact. 1 Like |

In reply to what kind of foodstuff can be taken when going to resume, I'd suggest the following: Yam, unripe platain (you can wrap it up when u get to uk till it ripes) Crayfish, dried fish, dried pomo, blended egusi, ogbono, maggi (make sure you wrap them tightly in clingfilm, ensuring the film goes round several times) Indomie Beans I didn't take garri but I know its allowed. Didn't even bother considering yam flour as its too powdery, lest I get delayed at immigration. Palm oil was frozen but the lady at immigration asked me to drop it. U could take it tho, u might get lucky. If you wna make amala or eba nd the likes, don't forget turning stick nd the wide spoon for scooping :d Oh yea, I bought plÀntain chips too. Red oaks is nice . If I think of anything else, I'll add. When you get there peckham is good for african food stuff. Dalston too. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Charles. E: Charles.E is right. I use wakanow but then go a step further by first checking for the most affordable ones (on wakanow) then visit the actual (airline) websites. For some reasons, somtimes, I get it cheaper on the airline websites. 1 Like |

Apparently I needed to take a test (ielts) for this. Still haven't gotten my letter of extension oo and I've sent the mail requesting for it. |

Hi everyone, I've got a friend who wants to apply for a general uk visa. Here are facts about her present status: 1. She is unemployed but is a designer. Her 'business' thrives quite well but its not registered or anything . 2. She wants to go as a tourist and has prepared a letter of introduction from her former place of work. The letter would state she's presently still a staff. Our concern now is what's the best way to go about this as her account is quite bouyant and like I said she's not employed nd single. Thanks |

Hi everyone, I got my unconditional offer and CAS today. Here's an excerpt: "Dear Miss X We would like to confirm receipt of all the required documents for issue of your Confirmation of Acceptance for Study (CAS) and you have been unconditionally accepted to study for the following course at Brunel Your Confirmation of Acceptance for Study (CAS) number is xxxxxxxxx Documents that should be included as part of a student visa application – • Undergraduate degree • International English Language Testing System - Overall Band Score 7.5, Listening 8.0, Reading 7.0, Writing 7.5, Speaking 7.5 • Bank statements in your/your parents name (or official Sponsor letter) showing you have funds available as specified in the UKBA current guidance" So, im guessing I need only take my Cert, test report form and statement, yes? Also, I was thinking CAS would be in form of an official document attached to an email, no? I intend to apply on 4th september. Anything else I might need? Thanks y'all! |

Back again . I've had my maintenance fee complete in my personal acct since 1st august. The main people who paid into my account were my parents but right after my dad paid in the bal of 1m which brought my balance to 2.2m+ on 1st of august, my aunt (different surname) paid 400k. I have heard of people who were denied because different people paid large sums of money into their account. This aunt always pays into my account. infact if had to print more than 30days statement, her name would appear at least once a month. I'd like to know if her paying into my account would have any consequences. n.b; several other deposits (and withdrawals) have been made by diff people but mostly less than 20k |

chukyrooy: Oh, thank you! i probably wouldn't have thought about taking my admission letter to the embassy. I'll send the telex copies cos i was told on the forum to request for an extension to allow for processing of visa so I'd just do both in one mail. What course are you in for? |
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by Atlantis85(f): 1:11pm On Aug 27, 2012 |
chukyrooy: Thank you @Chukyrooy. 2. I've got the maintenance fees in my acct and its gonna be 28-days-matured on 1st September so I'm guessing i don't need a letter of sponsorship or anything else then. 4. will brunel send the CAS letter electronically or by post? If its by post, wont that take a while considering the fact that i don't have much time left. Also, i paid my full school fees in two tranches. just got telex copy for one of the tranches. Question is, can i send the telex copy as evidence of payment (i mean, that's actually what i intend to do, just want confirmation. Lol). Thanks |
