It is not compulsory but I highly recommend it

It is a secure for of bank statement that gives the visa officer confidence about the authenticity of the bank statement.

The first page of the MBS has a month by month summary of you accountant turnover such that the VO can easily understand.


Finally, it comes as 1-page (insteadof 300 pages of regularbank statements), so you don't have to worry about sending bulky documents.

I will answer the first question:

The best time to apply is after your wife has resume her studies in Canada, because you will need the following documents from her to enable you to submit your application and that of the kids;
1. Copy of her study permit -which will be issued to her at the Port of entry
2. Rent/Tenancy agreement- to show that she has secured an accommodation in Canada and you guys are not going to sleep in the snow 😴 🙄 😒
3. Invitation Letter- with her house address and phone number in Canada.

Visa processing is not a guaranteed service, the same thing with admissions to study abroad.

Anybody that tells you that you should pay money and in 3 weeks time, you should come and collect your visa, is lying.

Unfortunately, what the average Nigerian who wants to relocate abroad wants to hear is that[b] LIE![/b]

Once you try to explain the process to them and their chances of getting and approval or a denial, they will just see you as someone who doesn't know what he is doing.

The final decision is out of the agent's control.

1st Application

Submitted: June 3, 2024

Refused: September 9, 2024

Reason: Insufficient funds
(I had already paid my first semester tuition and had over ₦50 million as POF, but the VO still wasn’t convinced)

2nd Application

Submitted: October 18, 2024

Refused: December 2, 2024

Reason: Same as the first….funds again!

3rd Application

This time, I went all in and paid my complete tuition.
Submitted: February 20, 2025

Refused: March 11, 2025

Reason: You guessed it… Insufficient funds again! 🥲
At this point I was honestly tired, but I refused to give up.

4th Application

I decided to try something different, I did GIC for living expenses after paying full tuition.

Submitted: May 10, 2025

Refused: June 20, 2025

Reason: Inconsistent purpose (Apparently, they felt my salary was too small and I might not return to Nigeria)

5th Application (The Breakthrough)

This time, I added land documents to prove my home ties. I didn’t overthink anything, I just submitted and left everything in God’s hands.

Crude oil or "fossil fuel" like most of you like to call it when going green, is more that petrol and diesel.

There are several other distillates that are as important as petrol.

So even if you stop the importation of petrol/diesel powered vehicles, you still need plastics, lubricants and so on to make that EV.

You will work naked because even the clothes you wear are made from petroleum byproducts.

The curtains are not closing anytime soon on fossil fue!

I think it’s more about making the most of the years we have left. I’ve said it before, petrol as the sole fuel for cars, trucks, and buses is gradually being phased out. Many countries have already set dates to ban fossil fuel–powered vehicles, some within the next 20 to 30 years, and even earlier in a few cases. Do you know that Ethiopia has already banned the importation of fuel-powered buses because of its new large-capacity hydro power plant?

Refining profit margins will take a hit in the coming years; plastics and other by-products will likely become the main revenue drivers. Just my opinion, though. I’ll remind you in the next 10 to 20 years, maybe in this thread, maybe somewhere else. Just take care of yourself till then.

The business is still young.

The fact that you are even making anything at this point means that it is profitable.

Continue to reinvest and the return will continue to grow.

I am really confused. As much as there is no loss so far, I actually feel like the return is quite smaller than what I have anticipated. I don't know if I can say the sales in moving at any good rate too. But I am certain that there are no loss to any theft or fraud yet. I actually have the opportunity to liquidate the business and get my capital back anytime from now, particularly, when the rent expire. But I am not sure if that is the right decision to take. Especially when considering that this goods may actually be holding some value on the money... I really need more expert advise😢

When reapplying, ensure you provide the above and address them in your SOP and letter of financial support.

Ask your husband to give you mybankstatement ticket for his account. It comes out a 1-page.

You can do the same for your bank statement too.

There is no point uploading 33 or 66 pages bank statements when you can use mybankstatement tickets.

Also not that, if you try to compress the statements you have too much, it will get to a point where they will not be legible again.

I'm literally losing ir at this point. My school decided to partner with border pass for study permit and I have been trying to upload my bank statement since the 30th of September to no avail. Every other document has been uploaded successfully.
So I have two bank statements, mine and that of my husband. My own BS is about 31 pages, compressed and uploaded. His own is about 66 pages. I've compressed it ro the barest minimum it can go down to which is 600KB but I still cannot upload it. My BS is getting stale.

I'm just tired. I have over 1,500kb upload allowance left so I cannot figure out what's going on. I even split his BS into 3 and then into 2 but still no success.

I honestly do not know what to make of this.

This is a case where the reason for denial is beyond your control.

It is possible that ticket you attached was not clear or there was a system failure that made it impossible to access the mybankstatement.

My advice is that you redo the mybankstatement ticket, pay close attention to how you scan your documents and reapply.

I got a refusal letter on Friday. The officer's reason was that they are unable to have access to 'mybankstatement' document that was sent alongside my statement of account. Meanwhile I have submitted same with the statement of account. And therefore I was refused due to insufficient POF. Please, I need someone to please shed more light on this.

Let your sponsor pay full tuition fee for the first year of the program and set up a GIC of at least CAD 22,000 to cover your living expenses for a year.

That gives you a better chance of success than presentinga bank draft.

My take is that it should be treated like a bank account. If there are lumpsums, provide convincing explanations.
