To the best of my knowledge, the most commonly used payment option for tuition fee is flywire. As for GIC deposit, it has to be SWIFT, because you're expected to transfer the money from your Dom account to the GIC/Canadian bank account. All the best. Mavor: Morning folks. So I paid my tuition deposit since the 9th via paymytuition to the school and it's yet to land with the school as of today. Likely due to the delayed banking system in the US and Canada for overseas payment clearance. I plan on paying my tuition in full this week and I am wondering if there is a faster payment method. Please don't mention SWIFT.
Also, to those who suceessfully did a GIC deposit payment in a bank in Canada, please tell me what method you used to transfer the money to the bank in canada besides SWIFT.
Thanks. |

Sometimes, an application can be denied because the Visa Officer is not convinced that you will have "access to the funds" when needed. In order to clear that doubt, you can set up a GIC with a Canadian Bank, usually CIBC. You transfer the money (at least 20ķ CAD) to CIBC and they will issue you a certificate. This is now form part of your POF. It doesn't guarantee approval but it increases your chances of getting one. Kossyfelicia: Please don't be offended o, I'm seeing GCI flying up and down here 😂 please what's it all about? Also having 45M as my proof of funds is it okay? I have paid 10M plus for my school tuition deposit. Hope the 45M is okay to show as proof of funds with others documents? |

They will give you an offer letter stating they they will pay your tuition fee for the first year and living expenses. This offer letter will form part of your Proof of Financial Support when submitting your application. The interest is stated on the offer letter and you have an amortization table on how to repay the Loan. They have long repayment periods so you will not feel it too much. The work with selected schools/programs and they will process your admissions for you. I think you should research it out. amnotapervert: Okay, how will you explain the source of your Proof of Funds to IRCC ?
Also, what interest rate are you paying on the money? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ATTAHDYE(m): 1:21am On Jul 13 |
The offer is comprehensive and the repayment is well spelt out (more than Mpower loans that most people are used to). The applicant is also advised to explain how he plans to repay the loan, this is where we encourage applicants to have a parent to provide additional support and documents. If everything is OK, you can get an approval, if not the application is denied and the equity paid is refunded. I understand that IRCC may frown at using a loan for studies, but the reason I am taking time to contribute to this topic is to let people know that there are other options other than going to POF people to borrow lump sum deposits the will be flagged by IRCC and denied after you have paid interest for 3-4 months for nothing. It is worth trying. amnotapervert: EnglandAmaka and ATTAHDYE, I mean no disrespect, but IRCC does not encourage people to borrow money as Proof of Funds just to come and study in Canada...
How will you explain to IRCC where the POF came from and how you intend to pay back the loan? IRCC wants to know the genuine source of your funds
If the money no dey, e no dey...... schooling abroad requires funds you can find school according to what you have eg Memoral university ETC which is a good option
So you pay CAD $15,000 and then take a loan of CAD $45,000? At what interest rate?
As an international student, you can only work up to 24 hours per week during your studies. For most students, that income is only enough to help cover rent, food, and a few other basic expenses.
Please don't set yourself up for failure with the mindset that you'll simply pay off a large loan after arriving in Canada. Look at what was happening to Badadvisor. He was frustrated because he was under so much pressure from school while also trying to find work and manage his finances...but I believe things have gotten better.....
EnglandAmaka and ATTAHDYE, there is a reason why IRCC expects your Proof of Funds to be genuinely available to you and not based on borrowed money that has to be repaid. I can't fully explain the reality you have to experience life as an international student in Canada to truly understand why that requirement exists
anyone selling you that dream is just selling you dream not reality |

Is it possible for you an Accountant to apply for a Pharmacy Technician program in a polytechnic in Nigeria? Lolziks: Good morning, everyone.
I am planning to begin my application to study in Canada and have been researching affordable colleges as well as programs with strong job prospects. After careful consideration, I am leaning towards pursuing a Pharmacy Technician diploma.
My concern, however, is that my academic background is in Accounting, and I do not have a science background. Before I proceed with my application, I would appreciate your advice on the following:
* Is it possible to gain admission into a Pharmacy Technician program without a science background? * Are there any colleges you would recommend for someone transitioning from Accounting into the healthcare field? * Based on my research, I am particularly interested in the New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) and Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC). Would you recommend either of these, or are there other public colleges I should consider?
I would be grateful for any guidance or recommendations from those who have gone through a similar process or have experience with studying in Canada.
Thank you very much. |

This is what the mybankstatement ticket looks like, if your bank send/generate this for you, you are good to go. You can attach it as bank statement with other supporting documents. All commercial banks except Standard Chartered bank can generate mybankstatement ticket for you. PhdCloakRoom: All accredited financial institutions in Nigeria has different formats and terms or connotations they are using to communicate with embassies. Go back to your bank and show them your own copy and if they tell you that it has no error then you have no cause to worry.

Mybankstatement ticket usually comes as a 1-page document with an ID and a password. The embassy will be able to access the bank statement. Please use it like that Wanice: Good evening, everyone. I got MYBank Statement (MBS) from First Bank on friday. The bank also emailed me a copy of the specific document sent directly to the embassy. However, I noticed that the transaction narrations has only numbers. You can't actually identify who transferred the funds based on those details. Is this the exact format the embassy receives? If so, what is the best way to explain and justify these transactions to the visa officer? |

How important is the transcript to my application? I only submitted my University Certificate. I have a second class lower division 3.2 on a 5.0 scale and it is written at the last page of my transcript. I don't want it to be a red flag on my application if the visa officer should go through it. Should I just ignore uploading it and just wait for their final decision? |

I have seen 2 of your response to this guy and I wonder why you’re egging him on the wrong part. He does not have the requirements for a Masters program having graduated with a CGPA of about 2.75 over 5.0. The circled part of the requirements you posted form MUN clearly states that you should have at least 75% which is equivalent to 3.75 over 5.0 in Nigeria. Please be straightforward with this guy. He should apply for a postgraduate diploma first because that is what his grade can carry. amnotapervert: Nice! You are on the right track by doing your own personal research I also have one of the certifications you mentioned, plus another one that you didn't mention.
You are the one that will be doing the school so if you think your head can carry it why not the course is still very related to Computer science
Yes, the course and program are very good, and Memorial University is also an excellent school, especially in terms of affordability. The only challenge is the admission requirement.
Applicants are normally expected to hold a minimum Second-Class Upper degree (or at least a 75% overall average). It's still possible to gain admission if you package your application well, but I would say your chances are about 50/50.
If you really want a masters program which with your result its going to be hard What some people do, if you have the financial means, is to apply to two schools one university and one college.
As we all know, colleges usually process applications and offer admission much faster. So, if you are willing to take a chance,
If you can, apply to two schools. Submit your university application for the earliest available intake eg (Winter – January), and then apply to a college for the following intake (Summer – May) as a backup.
This gives you a chance to secure university admission while still having a college (Post graduate diploma) option if things don't work out.
That way, you can try your luck with the university while still having a good chance of receiving a college admission quickly if that doesnt work |

Hello, The best option open for you is to seek for an admission in to a college for a Post Graduate Diploma, you do not have the requirements for a direct Masters since you graduated with a 2.2. It was also clearly stated in the email email you attached, the 2.75/4.0 they are asking for is equivalent to our 3.5/5.0 grading system. With your first degree, experience and certifications you will be able to get a college. All the best Domain12: Thank you so much for your elaborate response. With your advice I have this school and course in mind:
https://www.mun.ca/become/graduate/programs-and-courses/artificial-intelligence/
I contacted them with my same concern; the attached is the email they sent:
So the part that says "The online application also allows you to explain any special circumstances that put your academic performance in perspective. " is in line with what you say.
And to note, I have AWS and Google professional certification and Kubernetes certification.
So please this chosen school and course is good to go right? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ATTAHDYE(m): 9:54pm On Jun 24 |
Very balanced report PhdCloakRoom: The best course is the course related to your 1st degree or your current career or job. If you apply to a course because its on PR that will be amounted to a ' fake intention which may very possibly affect your visa success.
When you enter Canada via study visa and graduated successfully regardless of your course of study then your PR application will open naturally. PR course listing is not permanent so dont apply to a college or University base on PR listings.
Phd is your best shot if you love academia or another Msc (STEM) related to your career. |

If the money is truly for your studies as stated, I will suggest you do either of the following; 1. Pay full tuition fee 2. Pay tuition fee for the first semester and use the balance to open a GIC of at least CAD 10, 000 towards your living expenses Then your in-law can write a letter of financial support starting that he is your sponsor (if you’re using only him), and to demonstrate his commitment, the funds were sent to you and they have been applied towards paying full/part of your tuition fess and/or living expenses. I know that 22m will not be able to cover your tuition fee and living expenses for the first year. So who is going to provide the balance? Gift deed and sales of property have been over used in explaining lump sums, I always avoid them as much as possible. Geetee111: I did make mention of how he was going to help me put in the money, probably skipped his mind, money was paid in last week…. The money is actually for my school.
But I got a suggestion to get a lawyer to help me sign gift deed notarization. If you’ve other ideas you can share…. That’s the reason why I am here. |

What’s the best way to prove to IRCC that the money is for my studies, I going to the bank on Monday to pay a deposit of $5k CAD for my school fees deposit, instead is 2k as required by the school, do I do a gift notarization, visa application isn’t due until August. |

This post comes off as pessimistic and I don't know why. He is a fresh graduate so nobody is going to expect him to provide proof of employment. You said he doesn't have family ties? This contradicts you being related to him and him having parents. When you say your parents are petty traders, how "petty" are we talking? From my experience, it is better to look at their bank accounts first, some Nigerian do a lot of transactions without knowing because they don't pause to review their Financials. It is only after you go through their bank statements that you can plan better on how to sponsor him. All the best. You don't need a gift deed, infact do not use a gift deed to ruin your application. The additional thing I will suggest is for your sister to pay off the full tuition fee, it will address the concern that the funds in her account may not be available for you in the future. She can push it further by also setting up a GIC to cover your living expenses. Above all, don't do a gift deed, submit your salary account as it is. Ebukaxn: Hello guys, I’ve gotten offer to school in Canada for a postgraduate study ,and the total tuition for the full year is 19,813 cad. I have a sponsor (my elder sister) , she’s a nurse in the US and ends roughly $176,000 annually .
She has paid my complete tuition fee for the first semester alone , what is left is the second semester. And her bank statements show times 3-4 of the actual amount needed for my tuition and living expenses .
She has a bank statement of $85,246 available balance (118,773 CAD thereabout ) after paying the first semester tuition .
Additionally , she has a savings account of $30,000(41,799CAD) that she’s going to submit along side the other bank statement I mentioned earlier . This is just a short brief of my circumstances as it seems now .
So now ; even if my application is sponsorship based, I am still supposed to show my personal bank statement to show my financial strength incase things goes sideways ways .
I have 3 accounts I believe would be hard to use because earn 70k monthly in the; FIRST ACCOUNT and the opening balance from the past 6 months is 800,000 naira with a closing balance of 50 naira
SECOND ACCOUNT has an opening balance of 186 naira with a closing balance of 1,358,025 naira
THIRD ACCOUNT has an opening balance of 3,027.32 naira and a closing of 22,958.41 naira
I am supposed to submit this application this coming week . I have barely any time left .
So I am considering a deed of gift of 10million naira from my uncle.
My main question here is , would a deed of gift be feasible for this application given the urgency of time (deadline ) or give a recommendation to this please , experts in the house . |
