Politics / Nigerians Donates ₦1,₦2,₦50 To APC Presidential Aspirant, adamu Garba To Get Form by auba123: 12:54pm On Apr 26, 2022
Somedays ago, a presidential aspirant, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba appealed for funds from Twitter users in order to purchase the presidential form of the party at the cost of N100 million.

In a series of tweets on Saturday, Garba urged Nigerians to fund his project in order to foster a sense of patriotism for the country.

This appeal comes despite his tenuous relationship with tweeps over his support of the APC-led Federal Government during the 2020 #EndSARS protests.

He continued, “100M for the form is insensitive, but our collective contribution to get this form will send a strong signal that we care about Nigeria”.

Some Nigerians has been donating but the denomination is nothing to write home about.

Politics / Timi Frank Condemns APC Over N100m Presidential Nomination Form by auba123: 5:11pm On Apr 21, 2022
Erstwhile Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Thursday, condemned the N100million fee for the party's presidential nomination form, describing it as a “clear depiction of deepened arrogance in both corruption and governance.”

This is even as he called on President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly prioritise the nation’s tertiary education sector which is now lying comatose by paying the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) the N200billion they have demanded so that normalcy can return to universities in the country.

Frank, in a statement in Abuja, lamented what he called the “insensitivity of the APC”, even as he accused the party of reaping from the cesspool of corruption it had enthroned in the country and thus entrenching insensitivity like never witnessed in the country.

"It is unfortunate that in a country where hunger, strife, unemployment, insecurity, disunity, economic hardship, decaying educational system and dwindling standard of living has become normal act of state policy, the APC has slammed a N100million price tag on Nigerians wishing to vie for the presidency on its platform.

"The moral question that many Nigerians are asking is: How much is the salary of those aiming to buy the APC’s presidential nomination forms?

“Again, before venturing into politics and probably even attaining their present offices in 2015, how many of these aspirants were known multi-millionaires? How many of these aspirants before 2015 had any business(es) yielding dividends and who are employers of labour? How many?

"What the APC has done is that it is taking advantage of the very rot they have entrenched in the system and reaping from the corruption that has turned its aspirants to overnight multi-millionaires.

“Afterall, if in 2015, its then Presidential candidate - President Muhammadu Buhari - lamented the N20million cost of nomination form, saying he didn't have the money, what changed suddenly for the APC and its aspirants that today the same President and leadership have no qualms selling nomination forms for N100million?

“If it is argued that it is strictly a party affair, didn't the same President direct leadership change in the APC recently?” Frank queried.

Frank, a rights activist, said it was unfortunate that while hardship pervades the country and universities are shut due to strike by ASUU, due to poor management and insensitivity on the part of the APC-led government, the party is only interested in deliberately raking billions from aspirations of Nigerians even when they know that they are brazenly encouraging theft and stealing of taxpayers’ money.

“As for governors, ministers and the Vice President who are contesting, none can boast of a salary package worth more than N1.5million per month except for those with questionable sources of wealth.

“All over the country, on daily basis, victims of kidnapping are put on the edge of their lives as their loved ones bleed to pay ransom to terrorists. As this vexatious situation goes on, the APC’s administration looks the other way and pretends to be oblivious of such crimes.

“Needless to state that it also amounts to same criminality for the APC to place such ridiculous price tag on Nigerians wishing to exercise their rights to vie for leadership positions," Frank added.

Comrade Frank said the continued stay of students at home as a result of the ASUU strike is breeding disaster for the country by paving way for students to resort to desperate nefarious acts.

"Given the wanton looting of resources that has taken place in this country since the APC took over in 2015, one individual alone in this corrupt government can afford to pay the N200billion that ASUU is demanding without bating an eye," Frank said.

He called on the APC-led government to quickly mobiise funds and settle its rift with ASUU instead of only being concerned with party capitalism and political entrepreneurship it is now foisting on Nigeria's democratic system.

A group, Advocacy for good governance in diaspora, New york, USA, has thrown its total support for the 2023 presidency aspiration of Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi.

That is why we from the diaspora have conducted a background search to nominate the candidate whom will vindicate us from this leadership trauma

“We will swing into rapid action to ensure this vision is totally realized,” he stressed.

Ukazu added that the group was extremely hopeful that Bello ripe ambition would be gladly welcomed by the delegates of the party to entrust him the ticket in the forth coming primary election.

He further said that Bello choice would ease the party the stress of canvassing support in the next election as his candidature is a marketable one.

He disclosed that the diaspora group would rally support for Gov. Bello in its referred capacity and would ensure the support cut across to every stakeholder to align with the youthful and useful vision.

He said that the group also extend its olive branch to the governor, and called on him never to hesitate to rely on the support as going forward would be a work in glove to ensure the desire success was achieved for the rescue of the great nation.

Politics / Zoning: Timi Frank Tackles Hon Peller Over Comments Against Atiku by auba123: 3:03pm On Mar 22, 2022
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has attacked a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Shina Peller, over utterances against former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on zoning

He described Peller’s comments as unfortunate and irresponsible.

Frank in statement in Abuja insisted that Peller's statement was illogical, disrespectful and an attempt to stand logic on its head.

Frank who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), Ambassador to East Africa and Middle East, berated Peller as a greenhorn in politics who clearly is mistaking "club and bar business" for politics.

He stressed that politicians, especially those with vested interest ahead of the 2023 general elections, must not only show capacity and competence, but also be ready to compete with the best of Nigerians irrespective of the zone and party they come from.

Hon. Shina Peller, a current member of the House of Representatives had labelled Atiku as an enemy of Nigeria following the latter's views on zoning and insistence to contest the 2023 presidential election.

According to Peller, “Going by his recent utterances, Alhaji Atiku has just proven to us again that he is one of the typical Nigerian politicians who is ever ready to manipulate the people, twist the fact and mislead people to satisfy their political interest even if it means at the detriment of unity, peace and progress of our dear country.”

Comrade Frank, said contrary to Peller's jaundiced and watery opinion, the former Vice President is right since there is nothing in Nigerian Constitution that bars him from exercising his right to contest elections.

He therefore called on all politicians to rather sell their manifesto, show competence and capacity to lead the country rather than hiding under the selfish toga of zoning to gain undue and unmerited political advantage.

"Peller is a known friend of mine. It is unfortunate that he descended so low in insulting the former Vice President. For the records, Peller is just a novice in politics and so lacks depth in Nigerian politics to begin to cast stones.

“Secondly, the likes of Peller only hide under the guise of zoning to deceive the Nigerian people - especially Southerners  - just to have easy access to public office.

"Have Southerners not been in charge of the country before now? What was their impact on average Southerners? What did the average Southerner benefit in terms of infrastructure, leadership and empowerment? Should we continue to market zones at the expense of experience, competence and capacity?” Frank queried.

The Bayelsa-born political activist said democracy like politics is an open competition and thus all who aspire to partake in it must come fully prepared - showcasing their capacity and drive to serve the Nigerian people irrespective of where they come from - as there is nothing like a Southern or Northern president but rather a Nigerian president.

“Agreed that issues related to zoning between the North and South are playing out across all political parties as anticipated, however, to resort to threats and insults is not only anti-democratic but clearly outlandish in dealing with this issue.

"The future of our country must always be made pivotal. In achieving this, insults and threats as employed by Peller should never to be allowed.

“Rather, we should prioritise consultation, dialogue and understanding capable of inspiring the younger generation and make them believe in future practicable means of resolving issues like zoning, whenever they arise,” Frank said.

It is clear that ThisDay is after something else against the person of Rochas aside just discussing presidential aspirants in this editorial. To set the records straight, it is not a matter of Rochas claiming to have built schools for the underprivileged. It is a fact.

femi419:
If I understand ThisDay clearly on this editorial of theirs, they don’t believe Rochas Okorocha indeed built any school for the underprivileged, hence why they rather tagged it as a claim by Rochas Okorocha himself.

To me I think Okorocha will no doubt do well as Commander-in-chief
