Also, I feel you're too engrossed with yourself. When they say you should multiply your 7naira by any amount, the outcome is an objective, worldwide truth, not about "you" anymore. Ofcourse your 7naira is still with you (no one is gonna take that), but the product/outcome when multiplied by 0 = 0.

Take for instance, you use it for an investment. In one company, you invest 7naira and they promise you an ROI of x2, while in another coy, they promise you nothing, like you will get nothing at the end of the day i.e. ROI of 0.
At the end of the investments tenures, you will get 7 x 2 = 14naira from one end, but from the other end, you will get 7 x 0 = 0
Remember they promised you b4.

Stop thinking that the whole scenarios's about you alone. Widen your imagination!

Many companies are happy to break even for years. Which practically means that they added 0 to the 1000 they invested, but they still have the 1000.
Hence the question by Op. Why can't 1000 x 0 = 1000.

The concept of break even is different from what the OP is talking about. I'm an accountant.

To break even means that, your revenue is the same as your expenses/costs. For instance, you spent 10k and make income of exact 10k... no profit, no loss!

It's different from what the OP is talking about. Unless you have a variant point to make.

Rather it should be, 100oranges or dogs or whatever, brought out 0times = 0

Also, another perspective to this would be, always try to see things from an all-round view. Let it not be about "you" alone. For instance, you have hundred oranges and you multiply by 0, the outcome is not about you anymore, it's about who you're dealing with, he will get nothing. You grab?

In case the puzzle can't be cracked in Queen's English, I beg let somebody try good old pidgin - maybe this will help, because with pidgin you are not constrained by rules of grammar ( just say it any how- the language is immaterial as long as the meaning is plain).

Its quite a long read. Apologies for any grammatical or typographical error encountered.

Here is my story.

My younger sister who is staying with me disrespects me alot, and she doesn't take my advice. My parents stay very far away and I feel responsible for her. It frustrates me whenever I tell her something and she will wait to do it at her own time or not do it at all. She even sometimes abuses me indirectly.

She is 19, came to stay with me last year November, for a Predegree program, after staying at home for two years without admission. After the first semester of her program, her result was released and it was very disappointing. She made 51% in only one course of four courses, while others are below that. To be honest, I felt I failed in my responsibilities of giving her the right counsel, motivating her, and all that. All she does is press her phone all night long, that's if she isn't watching a movie with her phone. She'll sleep and wake up the next morning by 8 or 9am.

Recently, there's this guy who happens to be my late landlord's first son in the compound where we stay that she has been spending too much time with in dark corners and I can tell in my gut that he's up to no good. He doesn't go to work, school, church, nowhere. He just seats at home all day, smoking weed and any other smokable substance he can lay his hands on. Sometimes, his friends come around and they smoke and play PES 2011 on a laptop. Lest I forget, he's also a cultist. He has tried on several occasions to make me a yahoo boy, but I had to consciously refuse.

My apologies for the long read.

About a week ago, this guy asked her to cook indomie for him, and she did, using our gas, without telling me. This got me really up set. I had to take several deep breaths. I calmed down and allowed her finish. After she was done, I asked her to seat down and we started talking. While we were talking, she started responding rudely to me.

This made me hit her for the first time in 19 years (I hate hitting them). To my utmost surprise, she hit me back. That singular act made her receive a very hard beating that she sustained lots of injuries. She immediately called home and my parents where now shouting at me on phone. My dad came the next day and said lots of things. My mom said lots of things on phone which just piss me off the more, called me all sought of names. Said I shouldn't allow the devil that is controlling take me close to my sister.

Right now, I hate all of them. My dad, mum, and sister. If I was financially buoyant enough, I would have moved out of this house. I feel really depressed, being having nightmares and I so much hate the fact that am still living here.

By the way, am male, 24, studying Biochemistry, should have finished my first degree last year but I'm having an extra year (3 spill over courses).

How do I move from here? Advice me.

Now, take your mind off her, use that your vex and channel it into your studies. Wake up very early in the morning, every morning, go to a very far place, with enough food & water (preferably a library), and stay and read... all day long... Be drunk with ur book. Come back as drunkards do... 10pm, 11pm... but make sure you are not fooling yourself thinking you are fooling others... Be sincere with yourself.

This is a faceless forum and no one knows you so why do people still find it hard to state exact salary which would help others in making decisions?

I still find it hard why we Nigerians act this crude and conservative even when there is no need to be, the way Nigerians hide salaries even on faceless forums you'd think there is something more special to it. If its a face to face thing I'd understand because some people don't want you to know their financial status - be it small or big, and hence get very protective over it, that still is not worth it to me though.

What type of country is this? Something as professional as salary is made to look like a behind doors secret sexual activity
that only a selected few should know.

In saner countries, salaries are even stated on the job advert. I don't blame Nigerians though, it because of the high unemployment that make them treat people this way, and its because of it that many job seekers under value themselves as well.

Whenever you ask a Nigerian about the salary of a firm, they would either lie, or give one excuse of why its supposedly not defined, you'd start hearing complex explanations of how its this and that, is it that hard to state that- "As for mine, I was paid N180,000 as an entry level staff after training school", is that so hard to state?

Mind you, those who wanna get an exact picture of salaries of a specific organisation are not "greedy" and wanting to talk more about money first before the job but some of them want to compare salary structure to enable them compare other job offers to decide which to go for.
