seriously, I just pity the way this Amaechi of a person will be reduced to nothing after the election.
infact Is already happening: imagine him getting stoned in his own state.

but wat was he thinking before embarking on dat house to house campaign in the home town of his opposition??

oh he wanted a royal welcome abi??

I still don't no where he gets his guts from
PoliticsInside Story On The Shooting Of Amaechi’s Convoy In Rivers by Austindark(op): 8:15am On Mar 27, 2015
GOVERNOR Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State
was trapped, yesterday in Rumuolumeni area of Obio/ Akpor
Local Government Area of the state, as suspected political
thugs fired live bullets at his convoy. This came as tension
heightened in Edo State, over alleged deployment of soldiers
to the country home of Governor Adams Oshiomhole, in
Iyamoh, Auchi in Etsako West Local Government Area.
In Rivers State, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor,
Mr. Dave Iyofor, who confirmed the attack on Amaechi’s
convoy, said that the thugs from an opposition party first
pelted the governor’s convoy with stones and other objects
before they started firing gunshots at him. Iyofor said
gunshots were fired at the governor, adding that two
members of the APC sustained injuries.
“Gunshots were fired at Governor Amaechi this evening
(yesterday) at Rumuolumeni in Obio Akpor council by
suspected Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, thugs. Obio
Akpor is the council of PDP Rivers governorship candidate,
Mr Nyesom Wike. The thugs attacked the governor and his
entourage with bottles, stones and various dangerous
objects.
“Then gunshots were fired at the governor. For now two
APC supporters are confirmed injured. When the governor
was leaving the community, bonfire was set up on the road
to prevent him from leaving. More gunshots were fired at
his convoy. Amaechi was on door to door ward campaign in
the state,” Iyofor said. nCommunity sources said the APC
and the PDP clashed while the governor was in the area for
his door to door campaign, adding that the development
forced many businesses to immediately close shop in the
area.
At press time, the Police were yet to respond to a text
mesage from Vanguard for comments on the incident. It was
gathered that members of the APC and the PDP allegedly
hurled stones and other objects at each other for several
hours. Some residents who spoke to Vanguard feared that
the situation might escalate between members of the two
parties at night if not checked.
“I heard somebody on phone saying there would be war
later tonight today (yesterday). We are relocating from the
area this night to a safer place,” the source said. It will be
recalled that Governor Amaechi, had on Wednesday, alleged
that a conspiracy was under way to assassinate him on the
day of the presidential election. The plot, according to him,
was hatched at the highest level of the executive branch of
the Federal Government.
Amaechi, who is also Director-General of the Buhari
Campaign Organisation, has alleged that the plot to be
executed by men of the Department of State Services, DSS
with backing of soldiers from the 82 Division of the Nigerian
Army, Enugu, was leaked to him by a party in the plot. The
governor said that as part of the plot, a reconnaissance was
carried out in his village, Ubima, on Wednesday.
The governor who claimed that security around him had
been significantly depleted to pave way for the attack on
him, vowed not to leave the country as family members and
friends who have knowledge of the plot had sought to
prevail on him. Meanwhile, Edo State, the Commissioner for
Information and Orientation, Mr. Louis Odion, said the aim
of deploying soldiers to Oshiomhole’s home was allegedly
to manipulate the election’s outcome in favour of PDP.
Said Odion: “Family members of the governor were shocked
to find his country home taken over by soldiers this
afternoon (yesterday). When asked, the invading force said
they were acting on orders from above. We also have it on
good authority that the Army high command in Abuja had
sent some soldiers to Edo State on what they described as
‘special operations’. In order not to arouse suspicion, these
soldiers were told to dress in suits and pose as DSS
operatives and station themselves at polling units on
election day, particularly in areas seen as APC strongholds.
They were told to harass and possibly detain polling agents
of APC in order to clear the ground for rigging by agents of
PDP who would be wearing special hand bands. It is a
rehash of the rigging manual implemented in Ekiti last year.
“Two days ago, our campaign jingle on Channels Television
in which Oshiomhole endorsed General Buhari was stopped
abruptly after few exposures on orders from above.
“For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to use this medium to
tell the Army high command that Oshiomhole cannot be
intimidated even with whole might of the Nigerian Army
from insisting on the application of the principle of ‘One
Man, One Vote’ on the election day. We hope that as
patriots, officers and men on the Nigerian Army will not
allow themselves to be used by political desperadoes to
truncate this democracy.”

PoliticsRe: Why I’m Being Attacked Over Card Readers - Jega by Austindark(op): 9:46pm On Mar 26, 2015
the story long sha......

but the truth is dat free and fair elections will be very difficult in Nigeria. Even jega knows dat

anyway maybe superman can help and I learnt he is already here

PoliticsWhy I’m Being Attacked Over Card Readers - Jega by Austindark(op): 9:35pm On Mar 26, 2015
ABUJA—Chairman of the Independent Electoral
Commission, INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega, Wednesday,
said he has no regrets for insisting on deploying Smart Card
Reader machines for the conduct of the general election,
saying he knew that the decision would attract unwarranted
attacks on his integrity as a person.
Would-be riggers the ones crying foul, says INEC boss
Jega, who stated this while unveiling the Nigeria Civil
Society Situation Room in Abuja yesterday,, maintained that
it is only those that hitherto nurtured plans to fraudulently
manipulate the outcome of the elections, that have been
crying foul over the introduction of the technology which he
said would only add credibility to the electoral process in
the country.
He said that INEC had perfected all its strategies and put
every apparatus in place with a view to ensuring a hitch free
poll that will reflect the summative choice of Nigerians.
“Let me use this opportunity to reassure Nigerians that we
believe that we have done everything possible to ensure
that the 2015 general election is successful. We are
adequately prepared in terms of both logistics and
manpower. Likewise, all the security agencies, especially
the police which have a lead role to play in terms of
providing security during elections, have assured us that
they are ready.
Chairman of the Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega
“Beginning from today, we are commencing the rolling out
of non-sensitive materials. Likewise, from Friday, all the
sensitive materials will be retrieved from the vault of the
Central Bank Nigeria by our officers, accompanied by
security operatives and representatives of the political
parties”.
He said that the materials would be distributed to states
from where it would be taken to local government areas and
subsequently to the ward level.
Jega further highlighted the fact that the commission has
provided and reasonably equipped Registration Area
Centers, RACs, “to ensure that both our staff in various
states and security agents spend few hours of the night on
Friday there to enable them to be ready to deploy the
sensitive materials on the election morning”.
He assured that there will be remarkable reduction in the
delays that were previously experienced in the
commencement of elections, as well as retrieval of materials
at the end of election.
However, the INEC boss said it was regrettable that the
results of the election will not be electronically transmitted
to the collation points. He said though INEC initially piloted
the procedure at two previous elections in Cross River and
Niger States, “we decided that we will not put the electronic
transmission of results to use in 2015 in view of the
controversies the procedure might likely generate from
those who don’t see anything good in what we are doing as
a commission.
“We can see the dust that the introduction of card readers
raised. So we decided to keep piloting and improving on the
system beyond 2015, hopefully, by 2019, the commission
will introduce it for the general election”.
‘They know card readers ‘ll stop alteration of figures’
On the issue of the card readers, Jega, who stressed that
the process will help address concerns about the alteration
of election figures to fraudulently confer advantage on some
candidates to the detriment of others, said no such thing
would happen this time around.
“This is indeed why they have been attacking me because
they know that the card reader machines will help us to
address all those irregularities, starting from the
accreditation of voters at all the polling units. How can they
manipulate the election when all the information with
regards to the number of voters that turned out at every
polling unit is automatically captured and transmitted by
the card reader machines?
‘We have made rigging impossible for them’
He continued; “We have made rigging impossible for them
as there is no how the total number of votes cast at the
polling unit could exceed the number of accredited persons.
Such discrepancy in figures will be immediately spotted.
This technology will further make it impossible for any
corrupt electoral officer to connive with any politician to
pad-up results”, he added.
Besides, Jega noted that in the past, dubious INEC officials
usually delayed the entry of number of accredited voters
until the end of voting so as to have the leeway to tamper
with results, a problem he said would be obviated by the
smart card readers.
He said that both the card readers and the result sheets
would be taken to the ward levels, “once there is evidence
of tampering, the information saved in the card reader will
be retrieved.
“To my mind, these are some of the reasons why many of
them are opposing the use of the card readers. The crooked
ways they used in the past to get away with manipulation of
election results have been dealt with. This time, with the
card readers, such fraud will be easy to establish.
“We have further made arrangement that all the results
coming to local government collection centers will be
scanned, transformed to PDF format and uploaded on our
website so that anybody can go there and confirm result
from his polling unit.
“We believe that this is an added value to our process, it is
something that we have not been able to do in the past. Let
me also use this opportunity to advise political parties to
pay attention to the appointment and accreditation of
agents they will deploy at the polling unit level.
They should not appoint people without credibility, who can
be bought over by other party agents”, Jega stated.
Police promises adequate security
Earlier at the event, the Inspector General of Police, Mr.
Suleiman Abba, who was represented by the force public
relations officer, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, expressed the
readiness of the Nigeria Police Force to provide adequate
security during and after the elections.
He said that particular attention was being focused on the
protection of NYSC members that will work as ad-hoc staff
for INEC during the elections.
“Infact, we are already prepared for the 2019 elections.
Those who taught the Nigeria will disintegrate by 2015 are
in for a disappointment. Our men are well prepared, trained
and motivated to carry out their responsibilities during the
election. We are also working with other law enforcement
agencies to have adequate security manpower”, Ojukwu
said.
In a statement that was read by the Executive Director of
Policy and Legal Advocacy Center, Mr Clement Nwankwo,
the Civil Society Situation Room, urged Nigerians to go out
en mass to exercise their franchise and defend their votes.
“It is important for all Nigerians to recognize that beyond
the partisan divisions and the outcomes of the electoral
contests, the future of Nigeria is the main issue at stake”, it
added.
The situation room is a coalition of over 60 Civil Society
Organizations that are involved in monitoring elections in
Nigeria.

PoliticsKwankwaso’s Aide, Others Defect To PDP by Austindark(op): 6:57am On Mar 15, 2015
A SERVING member of the House of Representatives
from Kano State, Bashir Husain, and the Special
Assistant to Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on
Empowerment Programme, Hajia Maryma Kofar Mata,
were among the members of the All Progressives
Congress (APC), who decamped to the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
The development, according to a statement made
available by the media office of Vice President
Mohammed Namadi Sambo, yesterday, is a fallout of the
visit of Sambo to the state.
According to the statement, Husain is representing
Gwale Federal Constituency, while Kofar Mata was the
immediate past State Women Leader of APC.
It added that Sambo, during the Kano visit, met with
several stakeholders, where he urged them to reach out
to the people and inform them of the achievements of
the President Jonathan-led administration and the
laudable programmes of the PDP. The fallout of these
stakeholders’ meetings was the defection of the two
stalwarts of APC.
The Vice President, while receiving the decampees,
welcomed them warmly to the shade provided by the
party, stressing that PDP’s umbrella was large enough
to accommodate anyone interested in joining the party.
He urged them to feel at home and work assiduously for
the victory of the party in the forthcoming elections, so
that the party and the administration would continue to
move the country forward.
Sambo, who described the PDP as “the party of Nigeria
with the most people oriented programmes that has been
transforming the socio-economic wellbeing of Nigerians
in the right direction,” also added, “PDP is Nigeria, and
Nigeria is PDP. If you go to every corner and the
remotest part of Nigeria, PDP has a system in place.”
In their response, the decampees said they defected
from the APC because the PDP and the administration of
President Jonathan and Vice President Sambo, have
been delivering more and better dividends of democracy
to Nigerians through their Transformation Agenda. They
pledged to work tirelessly to move the party and the
country to greater heights.

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Muazu, has said that the party is his home and will never leave it, following rumour of a rift between him and President Goodluck Jonathan.
Muazu took to his verified Twitter account, to debunk the
rumour and reiterated his loyalty to the party and the
president. The tweets were also signed by him (#AM) to
underscore the importance.
The former governor of Bauchi, noted that he has remained
in the party since its formative stage in 1998 and will not
leave it for a regional, sectional or ethnic party. He also
wished the oppositions “goodluck in the propaganda
business”, stressing that the PDP has an election to win.

Read his tweets below:

While you focus on your propaganda & lies, we have an
election to win. I, therefore, wish you goodluck in the
propaganda business. #AM
My loyalty to President Jonathan & the party can never be
in doubt. I have nothing else to prove. My record from 1998 till date speaks. #AM
On the sponsored propaganda & lies, I pity those who
fabricated them. I will be here to laugh at them immediately we win the election. #AM
We are in the PDP because we believe it represents Nigeria.
It’s not a regional, sectional or ethnic party. It’s a national party. #AM
I am a loyal father, grandfather, countryman, party leader,
party chairman & the Game Changer. I fear no one but
Allah. #AM
I have been in my party the PDP from 1998 till date. I have
never decamped. It’s my home. Loyalty is my watchword.
#AM
It will be recalled that the National leadership of PDP,
Monday, denied any rift between President Jonathan and
Muazu, saying the existing relationship is an excellent one.
