PoliticsObasanjo Wants To Run My Govt – Jonathan by Austindark(op): 9:35am On Feb 16, 2015
ABUJA – President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday,
described former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s attacks on
him as the consequence of his failure to surrender his
administration to the former leader.
Responding to the tirades of the former president last week,
President Jonathan said Obasanjo was so bent on
controlling his protégées that he would not mind installing
the devil in power so long as he can control him.
Meanwhile, it was learned at the weekend that the
Presidency and the Peoples Democracy Party, PDP, have
decided to pull back from earlier plans to sanction Obasanjo
over his perceived anti-party activities. Besides, there were
indications that Obasanjo’s support among some northern
governors, who deferred to him in the past, may be waning.
One serving northern governor in the PDP known as an
Obasanjo associate, weekend, flayed the former president
for crossing the line in his attacks on the president and
party.

PoliticsSambisa Forest Mission: Military Destroy 6 Buffer Camps Of Boko Haram Terrorists by Austindark(op): 7:56am On Feb 14, 2015
Aftermath of the directive that the military embark on the
final onslaught to flush out Boko Haram terrorists from the
North East and try to rescue the over 200 Chibok Girls,
Special Forces of the Nigerian military backed by attack
aircraft of the Nigerian Air force, Thursday night
commenced their movement into the Sambisa Forests.
As a result of the military’s movement into the terrorists
laden forest, Vanguard gathered that recently acquired
latest T 55 armoured personnel carriers, with capability for
mine and explosives sweeping devices and heavy artillery
Howitzer guns, led the way from the ground while the air
force carried out air bombardments from the air.
Consequently, military sources in the epicentre of the
operation told Vanguard that six buffer camps of the
terrorists manned by heavily armed terrorists, which were
positioned to stop the Nigerian military for gaining entrance
into the forest were taken out and scores of Boko Haram
fighters killed.

PoliticsWhy We Withdrew Eligibility Suit Against Jonathan — Junaid Mohammed by Austindark(op): 1:39am On Feb 14, 2015
One of the individuals and groups that had filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking to stop the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, withdrew the case, saying that it had another option to deal with the
matter.
The plaintiffs-Prof. Tunde Samuel, Dr. Junaidu Mohammed, Mr. Rasak Adeogun and Yahaya Ezeemoo Ndu-had filed the suit praying with the court to declare that Jonathan was not qualified to stand election as president in 2015 having taken oath of office as president of Nigeria twice.
But on Wednesday, Justice Ahmed Mohammed struck out the suit following an application by the plaintiffs to discontinue the matter.
The court also ordered the plaintiffs to pay N50,000 to Jonathan whose lawyers had been made to file responses before the decision to withdraw the suit.
Responding to enquiry by our correspondent, one of the plaintiffs in the case, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, said that the case was withdrawn to enable them to sue President
Jonathan in his personal capacity.
Mohammed said that although the case had been withdrawn from the Federal High Court Abuja, the plaintiffs were heading to another court to pursue the matter to a logical conclusion in the interest of justice.
Mohammed said: “We are heading for another court so that we can sue Jonathan in his personal capacity and stop him from breaching the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with impunity.

PoliticsThere Are New Developments to be Addressed Before Elections —jega by Austindark(op): 6:34pm On Feb 07, 2015
The Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, has said that there were `new
developments’ that needed to be addressed before the
conduct of the 2015 general elections.
Jega made the remark on Saturday in Abuja when he and
other officials of the commission met with representatives of the registered political parties at the commission’s
headquarters.
He said that the inputs of the leaders of the political parties
were important in addressing the new developments. He said that though the commission had its regular meeting with the political parties last week; it now became
necessary to hold another meeting before the
commencement of the 2015 elections.
“The main purpose of this meeting is to update you on the
commission’s preparation for the 2015 elections, draw your
attention to some new developments and get your inputs as to how the commission should address them.
“This meeting will raise the new developments and get your
inputs as to how the commission should address the
challenges,’’ he said.
In his remark, Dr Yunusa Tanko, the Chairman, Inter-Party
Advisory Council (IPAC), said the council had been
advocating that it should be considered whenever the
commission was taking any decision.
“The council has right from onset been making tremendous
contributions to our democracy.
“But unfortunately, the issues that all of us have been
raising long before now have never been considered or put
into perspective,’’ Tanko said.
He urged the leaders of the political parties who attended
the meeting to put Nigeria first in their responses to the new developments mentioned by Jega.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that officials of
the commission and the representatives of the registered
political parties later went into a closed door meeting.

Assuming the government says, everybody should register their boyfriend/girlfriend, or wife/husband with INEC before feb 14 2015 and you try to register yours and the machine tells you,"sorry the person you registering has already been registered!!!,"

What will you do?
