I am single and in my late 30s and I applied for and received a UK visitor visa in 2015 to attend a conference in the UK. My Salary at the time was 400k monthly and I had been working with the company for 3 months by the time I applied. The company was sponsoring my trip and supported my application with a letter stating the same and also with the company bank statement. I travelled for the conference and stayed 2 weeks. I also went in December of the same year on my own and stayed for almost a month.

I have been with another company for 4/5 months now and monthly salary is 500k Naira monthly, I usually have say between 250k and 500k left in the account before new salary comes in at the end of the month (it’s been closer to 500k within the last 2/3 months).
I have been told that I would stand a better chance if I had been applying with the same company I was with when I was last granted a visa in 2015. Also, what are my chances if I apply on my own (sponsor myself)? Does the company I now work with have to support me this time around again for me to stand a good chance of obtaining a UK visitor visa?

Dear Nairalanders,

I would like to sell food packaged like they package the food they sell at Shoprite (its also the same way they package the meat they sell).
Its usually with a light white plastic material at the bottom but with a nylon tightly woven over it so that the top is clear which allows potential buyer see the food (or meat) clearly from the top.
Does anyone here know how its done (and would be kind enough to explain how its done)?
or can someone point me to where I can buy the materials used in such packaging?

Does any one have an idea of where I can get a good ATM card holder or wallet. One that is just big enought to hold my ATM cards and not much else?
All the ATM card holders or wallets I have bought and used in Lagos make my ATM cards fade.
I bought one that's green at Obalende sometime ago (its common and could be bought at other places in Lagos). Over time, it made my cards fade.
I would appreciate any useful suggestions.

For Nigerians living in the UK, its good news for them.
Eastern Europeans got hired over them. Now, they'll all have the same opportunity, like it used to be.

For Nigerians living in Nigeria, I think it should also make things easier.
The UK had been flooded (I mean flooded) by people from the EU, especially eastern Europeans (people from Hungary, Poland etc) settling down in the UK. It made the UK govt tighten all the laws on immigration and made them stricter.
So I think over time, it should get easier to travel to the UK, especially if you want to settle in the UK.

@justwise: I am trying to avoid the usual processes., which would require a bank statement etc etc. Currently, my bank statement and stuff isn't as good as the last time when I was given a multiple entry visa (I traveled twice on a 3 month multiple entry visa). That's why I'm avoiding applying the same way

@Justwise: There is an "event visa" for the world cup, and for most countries,all you need is a match ticket. Visas are issued at the point of entry, and its free. The rules seem to be different for Nigeria. That's what I need clarification about.

I've heard that if you have a match ticket, its visa free to go to SA. I've read in several places that visas would be issued to match ticket holders at the point of entry. I have a match ticket and a month ago, I asked at South Africa airways office in Lagos and they said I'll need a visa.
Who knows the truth about all this?

PS: I have been to SA twice before now, would that help?
