Car Talk / Re: Uber's Surcharge On Users by autonaero(m): 1:10pm On Mar 15, 2022
Would this trend also affect Nigerian drivers soon? Let's watch out!
Car Talk / Uber's Surcharge On Users by autonaero(m): 1:09pm On Mar 15, 2022
Uber Technologies Inc made a release on Friday 11th March 2022 that U.S. customers, excluding New York City, will have to pay a fuel surcharge from March 16 as the ride-hailing company tries to address concerns of drivers and couriers hit by record-high gasoline prices.

Customers will have to pay a surcharge fee of either 45 cents or 55 cents on each Uber trip and 35 cents or 45 cents on each Uber Eats order, depending on their location. The money charged will go directly to the workers, Uber said.

The surcharge will last for at least 60 days after which it will make adjustments based on feedback from workers and customers.

The move came as many Uber drivers have been protesting on social media over high gas costs that have been eating into their earnings even as the company raised its profitability outlook.

Some drivers wondered if it was still worth getting behind the wheels.

Western sanctions following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, a major oil producer, had crippled the global oil trade and could further lift gasoline prices.

Car Talk / Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by autonaero(m): 9:29am On Feb 21, 2022
How to Daily Maintain Your Toyota Car on Nigerian Road

1. Check the pressure of your tires before traveling. Gauge them when needed.
2. Regularly check the engine oil level of your Toyota car. Do change the oil filter during every oil change.
3. Observe the level of the engine radiator coolant every morning. Refill when required.
4. Ensure the level of the brake fluid and transmission oil has not gone down.
5. It is often advised that you do not speed up immediately you start the car. This is necessary in order to allow the car fluids to circulate before active motion.

My goal is to help you maintain your car in its optimum state.

How tanker ball joint go scatter for okota roundabout embarassed

My Technical view point: Ball joints should be replaced between 70,000 to 150,000 miles of driving. If a driver continues on the same ball joints overtime; this would likely lead to additional wear, and if a ball joint fails, the car's suspension system could breakdown and the driver could lose control of the vehicle.

I believe this would be a good advice for our drivers.

how often do the ball joints need to be changed?

Generally, cars manufacturers recommend that you have your ball joints replaced between 70,000 to 150,000 miles of driving. If you continue on the same ball joints overtime; can cause additional wear, and if a ball joint fails, the car's suspension system could breakdown and the driver could lose control of the vehicle.
So, pls change it when need be.

Car Talk / Re: Advice On How To Sell Cars Quickly by autonaero(m): 11:52am On Jan 19, 2022
3 Quick Tips I found helpful in selling your car

1. Get Your Vehicle Visible Out there
Stick a ‘For Sale’ poster or print out on the car and make sure your car is in prime condition for inspection and an actual sale.
Advertise to your friends/colleagues and let them know what you are selling.

2. Leverage on other sales outlet.
A growing number of car agents/ car lots are willing to sell cars on your behalf. Buying and selling of cars is their business and they will be open to negotiations with you if your selling price is reasonable.
Feel free to check around to find car agents/ salespersons who will be willing to advertise your car to a wide target market. It is important that you consider more than one persons/businesses in order to get the best value for your car.

3. Join the Online Marketplace
Platforms like Jiji, Facebook, Nairaland, amongst many others are platforms to leverage on in order to advertise your cars to the right target market with thousands of audience. This will greatly increase the visibility of your sale.

Do You Know the Origin of the Toyota and Lexus Car Brands ?

Toyota Motor Corporation launched the Lexus brand since 1989 and therefore Toyota own the Lexus lineup.
However,Toyota has its headquarters in Toyota City, Japan, while Lexus operations are headquartered in Nagoya, Japan.

In 1989, the team at Toyota completed the Project F1, resulting in the launch of Lexus, a new luxury brand under Toyota that focused on luxury exports for international markets. Lexus has had its own design, engineering, and manufacturing facilities since the 2000s.

This may sounds funny but it is true .... After getting an trusted expert to inspect the car for you, check the car's safe and boot to see if there are some old changed components in them. This will go a long way in telling you the many things about the car . My experience: I bought on golf 3 some months ago, inside the car safe are used brake pads. On getting home to further inspect and do some minor works on the car, I noticed the whole braking system has been modified (imagine facing the highway with the car) ... Recently, I got a 2005 Toyota corolla, inside the safe is fuel pump and some spoit power steering belt in the boot and ever since I have bn facing the two problems with the car

thanks for sharing.

Good morning guys. Trust we are doing great. Please I need your advice on this:

Where can one get buyers for a van?

It's been months now, and buyers are not coming forth. And I keep wondering if I'm not marketing on the right places or the price placed on it is too high.

Vehicle's Description:

Transit Ford
2008/09 model.
Fairly Foreign used.

I don't know if pictures are allowed here, I would have sent the vehicle's pictures.

Please help suggest how to sell it and the best price it can go for.

Thanks.

If you need a quick sale/ urgent cash, i will suggest you giving it out to a trusteddealer to sell on your behalf.
Car dealers have ways they sell cars and market appropriately
