ComputersRe: Computer Systems Repairs Thread (Hardware And Software) by Avalani(m): 4:05pm On Jun 02, 2016
Hello guys, I need help with my Asus Q302LA. About 4 months ago, it developed a charging problem where initially I had to press the charger pin with pressure against the ac input for the laptop to charge. After some time, the problem developed and I had to come up with different techniques to charge, from celotaping tight the charger pin to the ac input, to placing the pc at various angles.

Unfortunately, the problem has become so bad now that none of those techniques work. I went online and learned the problem was not so rare. I even saw a YouTube video illustrating how to repair the problem: by replacing the power jack with a new one using soldering equipment.

The problem is, I can't do it myself. I have taken it to computer village : Slot engineers did not want to touch it, some other place wanted to change the entire motherboard for 109k! I don't want to give it to just anyone to experiment with.

I live and work in ogun state currently, and the job doesn't offer me enough time, so I'll appreciate if the house can recommend an affordable solution to my pc nightmare.

Jobs/VacanciesPath To Freedom (PTF) Network, Ambali Oluwasina: My Sad Experience by Avalani(op): 8:49am On Oct 08, 2015
Good day Nairalanders,
Where do I begin? About 2 months ago, I was acquainted with a site, justfrom5kdotcom where you can apparently post or bid for different "freelance" jobs, with the pay starting apparently from 5k. I liked the sound of it so registered, and almost immediately began receiving job alerts to bid, or not to bid.

It wasn't long when I came across PTF Network and Mr Ambali Oluwasina seeking for freelance help to do a job for it. It appeared simple : the task included 2 Facebook posts, 1 BBM broadcast  and 1 WhatsApp broadcast, per day. This will be done for 10 consecutive days at N200 per session.

I have always loved the idea of a freelance job. The idea of making extra money by the side, so I decided to give it try, even though my instincts warned me of the possibility of Mr Ambali not paying what he promised as soon as the job is done.  10 days, N200 per session would amount to 2k which isn't too much to take a chance on. At least, if successful, that would take care of my BlackBerry Internet Subscription (BIS).

So, I made contact and the task began. I even  got my sceptical younger brother to join, ‎reminding him the experience will be worth the risk of trusting Mr Ambali to keep to his words.

Fast forward 12 days later, and I was reminded by my brother that the agreed 10 days was up. I have been so busy with my real job that I didn't notice. Meanwhile PTF Network was still sending contents for broadcast, apparently unaware of the elapsed 10 days. That raised the first warning flag. I sent him a BBM chat politely informing him of the situation, to which he surprisingly read and ignored. PTF Network continued sending content for broadcast. After a couple of pings, he replied. Details of my chat with Mr Ambali can be seen in the attached screenshots.

After periods of silence and lack of professionalism by PTF Network, Mr Ambali confirmed my payment to be N250! I was enraged but not shocked. He claimed that the 10 days amounted to a single session @ N20 per day. This was not what he advertised, but I suspected having recruited over 10 freelancers ( I am guessing here), greed and a desire to cheat convinced him to not pay out over N20,000.

The story is long enough as it is so I'll cut it short. I was willing to receive the N250 payment, but what pissed me off to the point of writing this article was the nasty, disrespectful and greedy attitude displayed by Mr Ambali Oluwasina and his PTF Network. It is companies like this that grow to terrorize and abuse the rights of the Nigerian worker.

I will advise anyone reading this to avoid doing business with the fraudulent company that is PTF Network, at least, not until it apologises publicly for cheating. However, it's just an advice. At the end we are all free to choose our paths in life.

Thank you.

chocolateme:
My friend came into Lagos to buy goods and decided to buy phone here before traveling back. Day before yesterday, she proceeded to the computer village Ikeja to get the phone, I should have escorted her.
On getting there as usual, dem boys crowded her urging that she should come buy from them (you know the drill) she eventually followed the one that helped her carry her hand load to his shop.
According to her, he showed her the iPhone 6 (gold) she checked it out and it was cool. They finally reached a price (145k) and she gave him 70k from her handbag and took him with her to around the under bridge area for ATM withdrawal, on getting there she started the withdrawal and suddenly the guy answered a call and told her that he wanna talk with a guy he pointed to across the road in a minute that he is coming.
He gave her the bag containing her phone and went off asking her to be fast as no one was in his shop. She finished the withdrawal and started waiting for the son of a python but he never showed up till today, she decide to go back to his shop to balance him and was wondering why he left the phone with her but on getting there, she met no one and that was when it occurred to her to check the phone.
My brothers and sisters, lo and behold! It was an over fake iPhone 6 but looks exactly like the original. But truly it was the original she first checked out. This one is sooo light.
Since yesterday the riff raff has been asking her to go down with him if she wanna get her money back giving different locations and venues to meet him. I told her its useless trying to catch him for now.
How come he has her number?

our Eaglets fly better than our eagles its weird but I wish them luck, I know they would go far in this tournament
I don't think it's weird. With age cheating, it makes perfect sense. At u17, Nigerian players in their late 20s and early 30s easily defeat the 17 year old opposition. 5 to 10 years later, the age cheats are physically past it and cannot compete with the same youngsters they thrashed years ago. In fact most of the age cheats would have 'retired' by then to face family and business

hello house, please how much does a plot of land at Wealthlands Estate (Oribanwa, after Mayfair Gardens) go for on average? Plus, any experience regarding the area shared will be appreciated.

SportsWhich Sport Betting Company Should I Register As An Agent With? by Avalani(op): 10:16am On Jul 25, 2015
Hello guys,

I own a viewing centre at Abaranje area of Ikotun-Egbe Lagos. I have been wanting to include a sport bet business along with it for a year now. Initially, I contacted Nairabet but I was disgusted with the attitude of the Agent I was directed to (very rude and unprofessional) so I pulled out.

I later went to 1960bet head office at Lagos Island to enquire about the registration process (at that time, 1960bet was quite popular especially in my area, with a lot of players claiming they offer the best odds). I was impressed with their professional attitude, but I wasn't comfortable with the fact that I would partake in the business risk. Also, I wasn't financially ready at that time, plus it was the middle of last season.

2 months ago, I got myself financially ready and got all the equipment setting up the business requires. However, I discovered that 1960bet was no longer thriving in my area. Bet9ja was, and is still the dominant Sports bet player. I learnt they now offer the best odds and pay winnings quickly. I contacted them and initially their response was pretty quick and impressive. But after sending all the documents they requested, they've refused to get back to me. I have called them severally and sent emails as reminder, to no avail. It's been 3 weeks now and I am now discouraged.

What other Sports bet company will you guys recommend I contact as the start of the season is almost here? Preferably, I want a Sports bet company that offers good odds and bonuses and do not expect agents to share in the risk.
