Education › Re: Six (6) Most Expensive Secondary Schools In Nigeria (alarming School Fees) by avicky(f):
MikeHall1500:
Whiteplains British School is nothing more than a get-rich-quick scheme for its owners. I sent my son there and he came back to Port Harcourt malnourished and depressed, not to talk of his academic woes! When I investigated, not only did I discover that the school on many occasions had fed the boarding students Indomie THREE TIMES A DAY, but that there was no salary structure and some teachers in the primary section were earning NGN 40,000. This in a school which charges millions in fees. Also, the laptops and smartboards which they make noise about are rendered utterly useless because when they took light if the director was feeling particularly stingy (which was all the time, it seems), then he would refuse to put on the generator. This affected the a/c units as well. So, contrary to what the brochure and website tells you, this awful school does NOT offer a world-class environment conducive to learning. Also, would a teacher earning just NGN 40,000 give their best to your child? I don't think so. These people should be locked up for the level of deceit they are able to operate on. I also discovered that the school had seen 5 principals come and go within the space of 5 years. Not one principal had stayed more than 2 terms and each and every one of them left in the middle of the night. I think this speaks volumes. They are also currently under investigation for huge tax avoidance. You get the picture.
And the Proprietor is a pastor. He has a niche for owing salaries too.

Louisville is at Itele-Ijebu. Far from Ijebu Ode. CKA is a world class school and almost on the outskirt of Ijebu Ode(thats why I dint rank it) . Not in d ranks of the ones I mentioned. I really need someone who is based in Ijebu-Ode (core) and has taught in both the big and developing schools to respond.
Thanks. because i know those schools cannot be in the league of 20k salary and delay.
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Strictly For Those Interested In Teaching Jobs by avicky(f): 7:07am On Nov 29, 2015
Tpappie:
You have wonderful manners. Don't you? That you don't know me and asked me to think before I talk? You r simply unreasonable. Ijebu-Ode is where I have lived all my life. You should have been reasonable enough to ask questions rather than just jumping into your silly conclusion. I have worked in over 5 schools in Ijebu Ode. It's not a big place. The schools are not many. 9 out of every 10 schools owe salaries. Why are we working? They would even cage you with strict rules and make you work like hell. So, if you would respond, think! Be reasonable. People wouldn't just wake up to cook up stories. I'm saying it again, ONLY 3 private schools are good for anyone who wants to teach in Ijebu Ode, the catholic schools, AOC private and AGGS private. If you are in Ijebu Ode and you school doesn't owe, say it and I will retract my write-up.
What of cka? City of Knowledge Academy? And Louisville girls Itele?

Thanks man for ur response. Please, how much will MSc Maths cost? Also, this hamattan program, is it part-time or full time in OAU?
I don't have an idea. But it can't be far from 240k. Msc maths is a full time program though there's part time for Mba. Check the requirements again.

The class you graduated with shouldnt deter you besides even if your school had retained you ,does that determine the pay at the end of the day would be enoughhuh Come to think of it ,how much is actually enoughhuh? We all seek for more. Stop feeling that graduating with first class would is the solution to better life. My school mate and friend graduated with second class lower and just yesterday ,he turned down a job offer of 210k.
So dear friend you can get to the top with determination, focus and prayer. and not compulsorily by first class.
Getting first class is good. i narrowly missed it too while in school as well but i didnt let that stop me. You would be suprised that some secondary schools can pay you as much as that your lecturer job may have paid. Schools like regent school abuja n the likes.
#Word. You have said it all.

First class or second class upper is not a ticket to having a good life or a job.

Redomi:
Was at Royal College Interview today. The School structure is okay.
We wrote essay, Lesson note on our subject area, English, Mathematics, General paper, etc.
We later did Micro teaching, some of us were selected to wait for oral interview while others are ask to go and they will be contacted on phone, you all know what that really means, though my name was initially omitted, but when the the woman calling the name turned around and saw me among those people who are to leave, she said my name must be there cos I did very well in Micro teaching.
I sat in the front row during micro teaching , I was pepping through how the woman was rating us, a lot of us got 5,7,8, and 9. But she gave me 10.
We were the last group to be called for oral interview, at some minutes to 7pm.
They ask questions like what you think the school need to do so that people can know them, what we can do to make people know about the school, experience, etc.
We were later given a violet coloured paper to write the least salary we can take from them.
My Journey today all the way from Ogun Waterside down to Ibadan really wasted money, energy and time.
I later call a friend, so as to be able to sleep over in his place, he prepared me something , I ate and drink to my satisfaction.
I will be going back to waterside tomorrow morning.
My to and fro transport is around 5k plus.
Omo n wásé ó rise.
May God help us all.
Don't worry. Very soon you will look back at this post with smiles. The job is yours.
