- **Sexual abuse/trauma** — This is always something doctors must rule out (which is why the initial doctor mentioned it and referred you), but it's **not** the only or even the most common explanation. Many cases turn out to be one of the benign causes above. The lack of pain, no crying during touch/exam, no bruises/swelling, and normal playful behavior make significant penetrating trauma less likely (though not impossible—specialists will check carefully).

Pain is **not** always present, even in cases that need attention. Some irritations or lesions bleed without hurting much, especially if superficial or chronic/low-grade.

### What you're doing is exactly right
Going to LASUTH (a major teaching hospital with pediatric specialists, likely including pediatric gynecology or child protection/forensic teams) tomorrow is the best next step. They can do a more detailed exam (possibly under sedation if needed for comfort/accuracy), vaginoscopy if indicated, ultrasound, or other tests to look inside safely and rule things out properly.

Try to stay calm in front of her—she's picking up on your energy, and since she's acting normal, that's a reassuring sign. Document anything new (photos of underwear if more bleeding, note any changes), but avoid repeated checking that could irritate.

This is very stressful, but most cases like this in toddlers turn out to be treatable/benign once properly evaluated. Many parents have gone through similar scares and gotten clear answers/reassurance from specialists.
