I always have problem when performing administrative(such as recovery,shutting down instance,listener e.t.c) with enterprise manager(GUI).it always give an error after providing my host credentials and DB credentials,


My dbconsole service has stopped working which in turn affected d EM ,i tried starting it from services but still did not start.i tried starting it using sql*plus(command line) but it deplayed an error telling me to set the oracle_sid environment variable which i have done but the problem persist on, what should i do pls? help,

i will recommend you use a virtual pc(eg virtualbox), this works without any complication and compatibility problem,both the guest OS and host work perfectly using virtual box(www.virtualbox.org). get it for free with a user guide.

i insist u try using anoda OS cd,if that does'nt work get a usb converter that suites ur harddisk, use it to connect ur harddisk to anoda sys,format ur harddisk using NTFS file system and try booting from ur OS cd,
