An Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos on Thursday dissolved a 30-year-marriage over alleged promiscuity.

The court terminated the union after the petitioner, Mr Gbeminiyi Adeyiga, 88, had insisted that he would no longer condone the infidelity of his wife, Sekinat.

Adeyiga had pleaded with the court to dissolve the marriage forthwith, citing his wife’s unbridled promiscuity, lack of care and battery.

The President of the court, Mrs Funmi Adeola, subsequently, declared that they would no longer be husband and wife as the marriage had broken down irretrievably.

Aduda was the only member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party that attended the meeting while all others are from the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Conspicuously absent were Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, Godswill Akpabio-Minority Leader, Emmanuel Bwacha-Deputy Minority Leader and Biodun Olujimi-Deputy Minority Whip.

Nine-year-old girl Abigail Olayiwola, has urged the government and police to execute the man who killed her father during a quarrel on New Year Day.

The deceased, Stephen Olayiwola, a driver and father of three, was stabbed to death, with a broken bottle by his friend and a co-tenant, Ibrahim Adetunji, at Lafunke Street, Ijegun, a suburb of Lagos State.

It was gathered that a quarrel broke out between the two friends when the victim was brokering peace between Adetunji’s wife and other tenants.

According to an eyewitness, Adetunji allegedly got angry at the manner Olayiwola was addressing his wife when mediating in the dispute and stabbed him with a broken bottle.

Stephen was first treated at a nearby hospital from where he was referred to the State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja due to excessive bleeding but died on the way to the hospital. The suspect, Adetunji has been detained at Isheri-Oshun police station.

A prostitute went back to work in a notorious red light district just 30 minutes after giving birth, a Police Community Support Office has revealed.

Jacqui Fairbanks, has been helping the s*x workers in Hull’s Hessle Road for ten years and says there are currently around 40 of them working in the area at various times.




Many come from backgrounds where they have been abused physically and se*ually while many of them are homeless and sleep on sofas.

‘One woman had a baby and, within half an hour, was back out on the streets. That’s how desperate some of these women are,’ she told the Hull Daily Mail.

After an 18-month investigation, Slidell Police have arrested a man in connection with a “Nigerian prince” scam that bilked people out of thousands of dollars.

The scam involved an email from someone claiming to be Nigerian royalty who tell the recipient that they are the beneficiary in a will to inherit an estate worth a million or more.

The email solicits the recipient’s personal financial information to “prove” they are the beneficiary and to speed the transfer of funds. In connection with the scam, Slidell Police financial crimes investigators arrested Michael Neu, 67, for 269 counts of wire fraud and money laundering.

Neu is suspected of being a middle man who participated in hundreds of financial transactions that conned money from victims across the United States. Some of the money obtained by Neu was subsequently wired to co-conspirators in Nigeria.

The investigation is ongoing, but police said it is difficult because many leads point to suspects who live outside of the United States.
