Even a 50w solar panel can charge your lithium battery if your load is just 20w or less and you've a charge controller that allows it.

Panels being able to charge your battery depends on your load and only you know your load. We don't.

If you use two 450w and then use load of 700w, it won't charge.

i understand as all the loads will be using the power the solar is generating….

I’m hardly at home during rhe day so no loads ….
My question is what if the battery get full before I return home I hope the charge controller can cut of the supply to avoid overcharging of the battery? And what happens to the power the panel keeps generating when the battery is fully charged?

Mind you, you don't need spend much on charge controller especially since it's 12v. Just get a cheap one but should be MPPT.

Also this battery 12v 2.5kwh depending on source is over 300,000 naira. If you really low on budget, would suggest you just buy a cheap used but still in good shape leadAcid battery of between 150,000 naira to 160,000 naira. Could be cheaper if lucky in good way.

As for charge controller, ensure you buy a cheap USEd MPPT else you could end up sending money that would buy a hybrid inverter on charge controller.

Only spend more on charge controller if you have plans for upGrade.

Thanks for your detailed suggestions…How do I know a good used battery sef? Do you have someone that sells good used batteries and MPPT charge controller?….Although I plan to buy brand new Gpower tubular ba3 before but I heard fake batteries full market….

2pcs of 450w would give approximately 900w which is just about 100w above what most charge controllers supports for 12v system.

in other words, YES 2pcs of 450w solar panels would work though the charge controller would slightly clip it .

BUT please ensure it's just a single 12v 200AH battery. Don't try 2pcs of 12v battery which would give 12v 400AH as it would struggle to charge.

That's if you prefer Tubular battery, instead of Lithium based battery.

if Properly planed and sized, a used battery should serve you well enough while saving you money

No I don’t want tubular battery…I want a lithium battery…looking at 12v 2.5kwh…..strictly solar charging since the inverter is an old one….


My question is can those two 450 watts charge it?
Also since I can’t use the inverter to charge lithium battery,, I don’t need to plug the inverter to main grid charge socket because if I do it will charge the lithium battery which may affect it right?

So long you don't plan using generator or NEPA to charge, and youre willing to buy a good enough charge controller + enough solar Panels up to what the charge controller can handle, you shouldn't have issue.

Mind you, the inverter does not have to have selection to be able to use Lithium based batteries so long you not trying to charge via NEPA or Generator

meanWhile, you didn't tell us if it's 12v or 24v inverter.

Good afternoon guys….so I’m new to this solar stuff and even though I have read many of the pages o still couldn’t find what I want..hopefully someone will help me.

A friend sold me his old 1.2kva luminous eco volt inverter because he’s upgrading…his batteries are dead so I only got the inverter..

I dont like this tubular batteries and one installer said I can’t use lithium battery with this 1.2kva inverter that I will have to get another inverter….

So what do you think?

Can’t I truly use this inverter with lithium battery? I plan to charge more with solar panels though and perhaps once in a while use the grid since the inverter can charge battery….true at the back of the inverter,,no selection for lithium battery….

Ic problem is usually panel related. The chances of it being fixed successfully is very low, sadly. I am talking from experience.

display IC isn’t that hard to fix.. it’s just expensive and scarce cause you will remove it from another ps4 that’s probably been condemned…they don’t sell it separately…

PS4 is even cheap now why would anyone buy this for 160k fat for that matter….console only is even 160k for market
