The label adds up: 12.8V x 200Ah is 2.56kWh, so that's a proper 200Ah lithium battery on paper.

Before you commit for your mum, check two things:
1. Her inverter's voltage. This is a 12V battery, so it only goes straight onto a 12V inverter. If her tubulars are wired as 24V (two in series), she'd need two of these, or a 24V battery.
2. Her inverter can charge lithium. Many older inverters were set up for tubular batteries only. Look for a lithium or "user" battery setting in the menu or manual.

On backup time: you should only use about half of a tubular battery's capacity, but most of a lithium one. So one of these gives roughly the usable backup of two 200Ah tubulars.

Paying small small is fine if the total is close to the cash price and the warranty is honoured by Taico or an authorised dealer. Get the warranty terms written on the receipt.

Mind you the so called popular batteries where once a “no name” if you do your research most of the so called popular names don’t produce cells they just assemble like many others.

Just because a Product is New in the Market, or the Name is Chinese or does not 'ring a Bell' or even because it is NOT Expensive, does not mean it is of Bad or of low quality!

In Nigeria, we usually associate "quality" with "High Price" but experience has shown that Sellers are capitalizing on our assumptions and just upping the Price for us.

Some Sellers are New therefore, their Products are relatively Unknown.
But they want to "break" into the Market and make a name for themselves so, they (initially) reduce their Prices, to attract Customers since they know that we are all Price-sensitive!

It is after they have established The Quality of their Product in the Market, made a Name for themselves, that they then revert to Normal or even higher Prices.

My suggestion:
- Read Reviews, from those who have actually bought and used the Product.
-Rread such Reviews from Reputable and Independent Sites like TrustPilot.
- Check the Sales level of the Product: the more the Buyers, the more trustworthy their Reviews
- Pay attention to their "Warranty & Returns Policy": Manufacturers who have confidence in their Products, are not afraid to offer long Warranties and will make 'Returns' very easy for their Buyers, should they have any issue with their Product. They are just confident that only a very tiny Fraction of Buyers will have the need to Return their Product


BTW: I was having this same discussion an hour ago, with my youngest Child, a University Freshman, who wants to buy a Soldering Iron for one of his Engineering Courses and we saw a "Cheap One" that has Temperature Control, On/Off Switch, Extra Solder Tips, etc.
His immediate response was: Dad, l dont want that One, if it is that cheap, it cant be that good!
Young Man did not even bother to read the reviews or any of the other things l mentioned above.
Ofcourse, l am the one Paying, shey you get.

I eventually called the installer and he did as you said, tightened the bolts and cleaned the air filter, then restart the inverter and it has been charging since then. I’m yet to charge it with grid though

Good day guys. I’m having a small issue with my inverter & I’m not sure whether the problem is with the inverter itself or the PV panels.
During the daytime, I switch off grid charging & allow the PV to charge so I can run my freezer all day. This morning I noticed that whenever I put a load above 100 watts on the inverter, it immediately shuts down and shows “low battery.” After a few minutes it comes back on.
When I switched off the PV & changed over to NEPA (grid), it started charging normally & the problem stopped.
Please note that my inverter is only 1.5 kVA, and many of you here know when I installed the panels (535 W and 585 W). Could the issue be coming from the inverter or from the PV side?

2) Yes, my area doesn't have light at all and I'm looking to use an induction cooker more often on the system.
3) Nah, cause I've not really been around since I installed it.
4) Yes, I just moved to Ibadan now, I have a project that'll last for over a year, so I fear the battery may become stressed after reading through all the warnings on this thread.

Duly noted bro. I installed the system in May, When I mean I'm rarely at home, my house is in Ibadan and I work in Lagos. I go home only once a month. In terms of age, accumulatively my battery hasn't seen even a full week usage at a stretch since I installed it. When I'm in Ibadan I hardly stay there . Maybe I should just sell off the 2.5kwh battery and get an 8kwh battery bank; I don't think I need a 48v set-up right now. My load is 200w max during the night, my refrigerator inclusive.

Hello house, pls is it advisable to use 620W panel for itel power tank 500W/1kva.
Someone said it charges the power tank faster, and it keeps your basic electronics like tv, router and rechargeable fan running during the day while the power tank stays fully charged.

Make una dey try verify some of the things una dey type. Gel is a lead acid battery now. If u won compare something u can say tubular vs gel not gel vs lead acid.
Someone above already even mentioned that GEl is a type of lead acid sef

If we want to compare Gel Battery with Lead Acid, it should either be 'Quality' of Both,... or "Cheap" of Both.

If we want to compare Lithium Battery with Lead Acid, it should either be 'Quality' of Both,... or "Cheap" of Both.

There is a reason that Technology is always evolving, to bring us BETTER Things, than what we are used to in the past.

It is like comparing a "Badly built" Airplane, with a "Good" Horse, is a prime waste of time, because a badly built plane will eventually crash, while the good Horse will still be worth riding by it's owner..... and some of us can argue that a Horse is a better means of long distance transportation, than a Plane.
