Hey guys, i submitted about 26 different documents, the gag is the VFS officer actually thought i had a good application, this is someone who has gone through thousands of applications and i'm very much aware that those who make decisions in the embassy are different to VFS staff but i was genuinely dumbfounded when my application was declined after FIVE months of waiting. The agent i used exploited me, the embassy gave SEVEN reasons why i fell short. Ranging from educational gap, insufficient funds, not enough ties to home country, no explanation on why i think Ireland is best for my course, no elaboration on why i overstayed whilst doing a foundation programme course (irrelevant because i was given yet another study visa for Essex University the following year) i'm in the middle of starting my appeal and what i'm seeing on here is not encouraging. Can anyone please advise me on the steps to take? Majority of these documents were easily obtainable such as a medical report for the gap. My agent has still admitted no negligence till this day.

DO NOT APPEAL!!! My appeal application is still sitting there with them since October 2025 with there response been still on queue for processing, now imagine you now submitting… DO NOT APPEAL, RUN A FRESH APPLICATION BOSS

But you know, my Nigeria mind is telling me my case would be different , i mean, we've seen cases were applicant received their decision in 1 month or 6 weeks. Someone i met recently applied in first week of May and received decision on July 3rd.

This is me any moment from now. I submitted my application in VFS Abuja on 6th of July, I got notification that it got to the embassy on 17th of July (though i kept wondering if it was sent to Dublin, because 2 weeks is a lot of time). But anyways school is resuming on the 14th of Sep and i have to give one month notice in my company, otherwise i pay in lieu( which I don't want). I am planning to resign this month, though I know its very risky. sigh

Getting a decision before your September resumption date is slim unless your application was sent to Ireland. As for your job pls do not resign and pray your visa pull through and also start preparing to pay thr lieu if it’s not much. I made the mistake and it’s the worse decision of my life right now and it’s been hell getting another job since then. I advise you start gathering money to pay thr lieu if it’s not much cause chances for this September is slim and you might defer to January with visa on 50/50 mode so pls think about it very well

the visa officers are ridiculously slow, plus my people that applied in april got theirs last week. idek what these visa guys are doing.

Very fucking slow but they are fucking fast if you apply for April/may intake for those that their school offers that. They tend to answer within one month for that but are very slow when it comes to September and January. Those guys are just fuckin lazy

It’s say 4 June 2026(it’s going to be updated today though) but this is for Ireland based applications and we don’t know if the Abuja embassy operates on the same time frame

The main point here is that Ireland visa is becoming difficult to get even with complete documents and pls do everything and anything that you think will help your case. Remembered that I saw a refusal reason saying that I didn’t submit my previous refusal letters… lol. I submitted two copies of both(one colored and one black and white) and they still didn’t see it…. Let everyone do what works for them to help their case simply. I notarized all my sponsor’s documents(my brother in Ireland) and I still got refused and I have a close friend that didn’t do it and he’s over there. So pls ma vero whatever

Look at the new released list, the second page is full of refusal and you think they all submitted incomplete documents?

They deny and give people excuses that doesn’t make sense and youre talking about incomplete documentation…lol

I still stand by it, pls notarize your documents from ministry of affairs but pls note that it is not a requirement, it only adds extra layer of verified legitimacy.

Look at the website and requirements and stick to what’s there. Notarisation will not help your case if documents are incomplete

Don’t make people who didn’t notarise nervous for no reason

Not everyone submits for a visa without incomplete documentation. Those who submit complete documentation gets denied so what are you saying ma’am. I’m not making anyone nervous, I just stated that it’s not a requirement but if you feel you have the money and time for pls do it.

Their are people who did it and got the visa, their are also people who didn’t do it and got their visa. So pls if anyone has the time and money to do it pls do it as it will legitimize your documents better but it’s not a requirement.

I was not the person that asked the question originally. It is not compulsory but people do it, just because we didn’t do it doesnt mean others can’t do it. Pls do it if you have the time and money as it legitimize your documents better. It makes it more easy to verify your documents….. it is not a requirement but it’s advisable to do it. Everything nah 50/50 so do anything to up your chance ma/sir

You guys should not stress yourself about it too much until you get a response. We all know the waiting period is the most intense and annoying part when this people don’t follow their own time, mind you they never do. So does of you that can raise a query with them on the ISD portal should and wait for response. It’s not easy but there’s nothing else we can all do aside wait and pray.

Ah, email the school and ask them for when their late resumption is? If they have late resumption for October 20 something, you can risk and apply tops within a week and if they don’t, you will have to defer to the next intake and apply for the next intake but pls ask the school if they have any other intake before September as some of they usually have for April/may
