Why is this place so quiet?
Is there no update from anyone at all, both approval and refusal so we can all learn or something.

Before I used someone I know in Ireland address and when they refused the application they didn’t state that as part of the reason.
Ireland visa refusal rate is high and everything has to be airtight if you’re submitting a new application.

Ohh please can you send an email or point me how to send you an email. I’d like for us to discuss so you can direct me how to go about the police thingy. Yeah, my document were scanned and returned back to me immediately, the only thing they return back was the money I paid. So, I don’t think they’d have to returned any document back to me.
Sorry but they returned your money??
What money if I may ask??

Hi everyone,
I’ve been contemplating whether I should withdraw the appeal I submitted about two weeks ago. I submitted through the new process where documents are scanned and uploaded at VFS, which I understand started around December 2025. After coming here and seeing many people advise against appealing after submission, I honestly felt a bit discouraged and sad. So I wanted to ask if anyone here has submitted an appeal this year using this new process. If you have, please let me know how long you’ve been waiting so far and how the process has been for you. Also, I’ve seen people mention a Police Character Certificate. Is it compulsory or necessary for reapplication? I’m trying to plan properly in case I decide to reapply. I’d really appreciate any recent experiences or advice. Thank you.
Pls, what were reasons given for the refusal?

Please how can I get this police character thing? Must it be police station? Also, this accommodation invoice I’d have to pay before I get the invoice or just by booking without paying?
You are not paying on booking.com, you will just book it but you will have to input your card details and you can cancel anytime… get any accommodations maybe for a month or two that your proof of funds will cover, something cheap

Do you know how long it takes them to withdraw an application? Like if I send a mail today when is the earliest they’d act on it.
The police stuff is online, you pay and you go for capturing and get it that same day sha. Withdrawing appeal takes around 3days and maybe a week to get your documents back if you’re not in Abuja. You said all the documents for your appeal were scanned and uploaded, does that mean they gave you back does documents or what??

I appealed but not through this new process since October and no response yet. My advice is for you to withdraw the appeal and submit a new application and pls submit it with the police character stuff and accommodation invoice from booking.com… it is very important!

To make matters worse, I was charged 200€ for the same study and protect. I sent an email to the insurance company that I wanted to move the date and they told me the policy was canceled due to my visa refusal. How did they even know my visa was refused if not that the agent did. I asked them who canceled and when. They told me I will need to contact my agent for that. lol
By brother paid thr money himself that time but I initiated the transaction and added his card for the deduction. I emailed them my visa refusal and told I will like to shift it to a later date as I am trying to reapply if it’s possible and they ask me for the date and they did it
Finish.

If you’re considering appeal, please change your mind because your documents will stay longer with them without getting a decision. You’ll eventually be forced to withdraw the application. Same thing happened to me plus the refusal rates are even higher.
The craziest part is that I tried reapplying and my agent told me I have to pay for another insurance of 200€. lol. Bruh, i didn’t even get the visa talk more of using the insurance. Everything about Ireland is just ridiculous
Did you reapply. I emailed you once and I know you withdrew the appeal but did you reapply??

Well I appealed and my everything has been with them since October 2nd and nothing to now. Personally, I do not have any japa plan for 2026 again till 2027 probably January and I’m so curious now to see how their appeal will take and what the decision will be, and what eventually their refusal response will be

Your agent lied o, I used study and protect for my medical insurance and when my visa was refused, I personally emailed them that it was refused and I had to defer my application and if it’s possible for them to help move the starting date and they did.

That's not fair, what else do they want??
I even heard someone was rejected because of this same birth certificate issue, that the person dropped Attestation of birth instead of birth certificate from National Population council...it's well
What intake did you apply for initially?
September 2025… I don’t think they go through all those documents at all, everything they said I didn’t do/submit, I did and submitted but they said it was not there for some reasons. The only that made sense in the refusal letter was probably insufficient financial document, then I noticed I didn’t submit/add the financial summary sheet.

what type of birth certificate? is it from the national population commission?
Yes
Both my own and my sponsor and he got his own notarized there in ireland

I even heard some reasons do not even make any sense
They do not make sense at all, most of the reasons doesn’t. How other way do you want me to proof link to sponsor(my elder brother) after submitting his birth certificate, pictures of us since we were child to now, an affidavit kind of documents including both our parent’s signature confirmating we are sibling and all the documents were notarized.

Stupid reasons, they calm you didn’t submit documents are you obviously submitted…. The whole thing is just crazy

Same here please. My reasons for refusal were insufficient finances(although I had a co-sponsor) twice the amount and proof of source of funds, obligation to return and reason for study in Ireland. Can anyone support on this or refer to a professional to help. Thanks 🙏🏾
This is my advice tolu, do not appeal. Submit a new application and address everything again. It’s faster than appeal… it’s rare to see people on appeal and it take 6months of processing officially but I’m in my 7th month going to 8th month without any reasonable feedback. I seriously I’ve dashed them this stuff, just want to see the outcome whenever they release it

Hi guys. Please I need clarity on something. Is it necessary to include police character report in the application to the embassy? Some people have have it’s not necessary for a study visa application, some people have said it is absolutely needed. Would really appreciate your response on this.
Pls include it
TravelRe: Ireland Study Visa thread,General Life Experience of Nigerians Living in Ireland by Ayo112: 12:04pm On Apr 18
Pls my people, I don’t know if this is a generic response. They acknowledged a mail/document I sent to them and replied with this but my application is a study visa not join family application and the portal they directed me to, directed me back to back embassy the my application isn’t in Dublin but Abuja embassy. Though I have messaged the embassy immediately telling them my application is a study visa and not join family.

Is there anybody who received a message like this from them in the exact form and mind you this is the first time they are replying with the join family and thr portal stuff
