Thank you Taal17. Noted. Taal17: Just to add, he would be ineligible under your F4 petition. However, when you get your Green Card you can file for your son as adult son of an LPR |

Thank you @baydok baydok: @ayodebola: Approval Time = June 2024 – Dec 2017 = 6yrs 7months Son Biological Age = 21 yrs 7months CSPA Age = 21 yrs 7 months – 6yrs 7months = 15yrs F4 Priority Date Current in Oct 2024 is 01 Aug 2007. Going by that rate, your PD of Dec 2017 will become current in about 10yrs. Your son CSPA Age will be about 25yrs then which will make him ineligible for immigration under your petition. |

Taal17: Complete this step first. This thing can't be rushed. You need to complete what they asked you to upload. Make all the payments then you will be told when you are documentarily qualified if all your docs are satisfactory . Then it's the wait for interview date..we can't say how long that would be yet. Your PD has to be current though before you are get interview date. Thank you. Happy Sunday to all |

@Taal17 @bonawaja Hi all, update on our F4 application. We got a mail from NVC today that an account has been created for my wife on CEAC website. Login details were sent to her that she will be uploading some documents required and making some payment required too. Please how long does it take for them to verified the documents uploaded? What next step should we expect after this and what will likely be the timeline between uploading the documents and the next step that might be required. Thank you. |

Taal17: I actually had to go back and check this and it seems that for derivatives/dependents of applicants of F4 need to be unmarried to be eligible.
So unfortunately your children would need to be unmarried as at the time your interview.
Not gotten anything yet on CSPA Thank you. We will wait and see how it turns out. |

Taal17: I doubt think vCSPA will affect your children, and getting won't affect them. However I do not think their wives/husbands or children (your future grandchildren) can be added. Thank you Taal17. But if I may clarify the bolded above. Do you mean that even if our children get married, they will still be eligible as dependent of an F3 with the exception of their spouses and children? Also, does anyone know how this visa bulletin stuff move or is calculated as I can see that F3 is still in Feb 2010? Does that mean we still have about 8 years ( 2018 - 2010) to wait? Thank you all and happy Sunday to everyone. |

Thank you so much @bonawaja for the reply. I appreciate. We will just keep living our lives, doing other stuffs till NVC is ready for us. If I may ask, how is the CSPA calculated? Will this still cover our children who are now 21yrs and 19 yrs respectively if they didn't get married by the time NVC is ready for us? Thank you. |

Good morning everyone in here. I thank God for coming across this thread on nairaland. I've read through and I just want to appreciate everyone for their guidance here in assisting each other in this U.S immigration path. Please I will like guidance on how my family can go about this too. We are in the F3 category (adult married daughter of a us citizen). My mother-in-law is the citizen while my wife is the daughter. We have a son who was 15yrs old and a daughter who was 13 yrs old at the time of filing in 2018 in Nigeria. We got a letter from uscis last month that my wife's application is successful and the case is being transferred to NVC which they stated might take up to 30 to 60 days. Please, I will appreciate it I can know what is the next step we should start preparing for, as me and my wife are presently working in U.K while the children are in university in Nigeria. Thank you all. |

Hi UK2020, IThanks for this comprehensive writeup. It's an eye opener which proves that cert + training/internship can get you the job. Please can you be kind enough to mention the IT recruitment firm that offers training with internship/job offer in UK. Looking forward to your reply. Regards. Uk2020: I think time and chance is everything. Both sides of the argument have elements of truth. If you get a job solely on certifications and no work experience it's probably because they wanted to train you and you certifications are proof that you can be taught. Meaning you were very lucky.
Last year I paid for a cloud certification course that I thought will lead to a job upon completion but it didn't. Only two of us from that training course are currently working as cloud engineers. I was fortunate to get a firm that offered paid training and job placements after training. I was offered a placement two weeks into my training after a successful interview. I now work as a cloud engineer for one of the big four banks.
I think it depends largely on the sector. Certifications without experience might not get you a job in the UK cloud sector.
On the other hand I got my placement quickly because of my certifications. About half of those in my training cohort already had cloud certifications but no experience and therefore no jobs. All of us without exception have now been placed.
The quickest way into IT here in the UK without prior university education in IT is to get trained by an IT recruitment firm. You get paid during and after training for at least two years.
If you can get certified without paying heavily please do. It will look good on your CV but after that it's just time and chance, no guarantees at all. |
