Secondly, Language

I dont even know where to start with this. When I was in 9ja, I only did A1 class and I was following it up with online classes and apps. For class for 9ja, my head dey always dey swell sey I don know german finish. Even people for class dey envy me sef. When I got here, my school offers German classes which will be part of your credit units. So I joined A1 for easy 1.0 grin. Even for my german class here, I get mouth to shine small.

But to communicate with people outside na him be war. If they start speaking like this, e go be like so dem dey slap you as dem dey talk. You'll be both confused and lost. I try to pick up the verbs to try and understand what they are saying. But unlike English, German verbs can be placed at the end of the sentence or middle. So before you understand one sentence, dem don talk another, so you're like 200 steps behind. The annoying thing is they talk so fast which is very frustrating.
I did my A1. 2, not much improvement, I felt I learnt more in Nigeria sef. Though my A1.2 was mostly held online because of coronavirus which made it more frustrating. I got into the A2. 1 class but I dropped out because it's been held online. It is probably the most frustrating way to learn that boring language. I hope to learn it soon though because it opens ways

TravelRe: Living In Germany/life As A GERMAN Immigrant by Ayohbk(m): 12:00pm On May 22, 2020
I'll start with Food.

This is one of my worst experience here. Feeding for here na war. Bread, morning and night. I'm not one who really likes too cook. And I know how to cook only few foods sef. Unlike 9ja, whereby you can enter with shikini money buy confirm food chop, it's not so here. I mostly eat bread, concoction rice, fried chicken, salad, when I go to the African store I buy plantain too, their yam is so expensive so I don't buy it. Oh, there's also beans too, It's quite expensive, I love beans so I buy it anyways. If you decide to buy food outside, maybe restaurant or whatever, just go with your seasonings because their foods are always tasteless, it smells nice but doesn't taste good. Except you go to burger King or KFC or McDonald's. For me now, burger don be like dream food for me, before Corona I eat it almost every day. Either I eat it or I eat Doner.

I've here in Germany for almost 9 months now. It's been a Rollercoaster ride. I've had the highs and lows. I'll try to state my experiences, which aren't necessarily general facts, just the way I see things. Please I'm not here to argue with anyone, I don't have strength to fight.

For those who have been bashing the O. P on the things he chose to talk about or chose not to talk about. Please, no one owes you anything, get a life.

LOL..... I no be warrior ooo, I no come here come fight. But let's be respectful and cordial with each other.

Try get sense. See how u r disgracing your fellow man. What makes the O.P Whizqueen beyond his league? In Nigeria, nobody will notice her. Let her go to House on the rock in lekki, Whizqueen can't even clean d shoe of even the ugliest girl in that church. And she even had d guts to call Nigerian based girls unexposed. Does she mean Nigerian girls working in banks and other professional firms are lesser exposed than she is? From her post, I can see why she is yet to be married. Smh

Stop bringing your fellow man down because of a pussy u will never have.

I remain Akpaamunsi Agwu
I can see you feel attacked. That pleases me. I said and I'll say again, the O.P is way out of the league of that spineless and ball-less fellow and from your comment, you too. And I can also affirm that she's more exposed than you and any girl you've ever called your girl.

BTW.... I don't need to bring anybody down, he has already shown from his post that he lives on the floor. I guess you're his neighbor

It is about rebuttal.. Sensible people will just ignore and move on.. This one has to write an epistle to prove a point.. Like who cares
There are many people who get influenced by posts made on this forum especially the young, impressionable people who are at the junction of making life changing decisions. It's good to counter ignorant posts so it won't be seen as truth.

grin both OPs are correct, for those scared of divorce, YOU do know that white women are the WORST in this aspect, their system is designed to favor them IST above all others, if you doubt me ask Emmanuel Eboue who now lives in a basement without heat after his oyinbo wife took all he had, check all major crazy divorce those involved are mostly always white women, so pls cut our ladies some slack, even my guy man in Aussie complains of deep bone crushing loneliness sometimes because he is always on the grind and the few white women that come around after knowing he isn't an athlete or artiste never pursue anything long lasting with him, except for the ugly or unambitious leechy ones looking for someone to be stalled to, why do you think most Nigerian men marry oyinbo and still secretly come back home to marry? After a while the white crave wears off and you begin to see that Instagram filters isn't reality then you begin to lust for that sweet chocolate candy, so please of you find love, white, black, brown or yellow, cherish it, its not always greener on the other side for both sexes.
Finally, a sensible comment from a Nigerian man.

This is my experience abroad...

Nigerian girls after settling into their professions abroad are only looking at guys who are doing as well or better than them professionally and financially.

A white woman who is a Doctor will fall in love with a cook, cleaner, clerk, etc.
But materialism is a big problem with Nigerians so people love what someone is (what they have) rather than who they are (their personality), hence the reason most career girls abroad are yet to find Nigerian men of their dreams, not until they start getting older and desperate before their eyes clear.
A lot of single Nigerian girls in Norway are in this category.
The same story in Canada, where I hadn't even landed at the time and my friend was already trying to hook me up with her single friend who is a nurse.
Local man quickly declined her offer cheesy
If you are a young hot medical doctor will a cleaner, cook or clerk be your first choice for a long term relationship?

I will be back to address this issue of loneliness of Nigerian ladies in diaspora
*
**
***
*****
Let me start. I may be out of point but you all should pardon me. Speaking from my observation of Nigerian ladies in America from my 10 years of living in the US, , many find it difficult to find husband because of many reasons thereby leading to depression and loneliness. First, many Nigerian guys in cities like Chicago, NY city and Houston are always searching for Nigerian ladies to grace their bed and many of them don't have a bearing. Secondly, many Nigerian ladies tend to be career driven especially those in hot pursuit of wanting to become Nurses to the extent of forgetting that they can also still date while pursuing their dreams. Many of them discover too late when they might have crossed into their 30s. I dated two in this category. Now they are both making money as Nurse Practitioners and they now discover that life is boring and lonely without a man (forget anything these fake feminists and their apologist might want to say). Many Nigerian ladies during their early years are always searching for already established guys in their careers and guys that make at least 6 figures. Without considering the facts that these guys are economic immigrant that have as their major goal the need to emancipate their family back home from their plight. Also many of the so-call guys don't have legal stay and these are the ones that mostly go to religious places of worship to scavenge for ladies to prey on forgetting that these ladies are wiser. Another factor that make these ladies not to find a man out there is because an average Nigerian lady in a place like the United states and i believe Canada tend to be saucy and lack manners. They feel they are better than an average girl back home. This is corroborated by even the way and manner this OP delivered her rebuttal. i.e such statement "Some guys eventually resort to going back home to marry the less exposed girls, but guess what happens once they reach YYZ airport?" why does the OP think she is much exposed than the average Aisha, Bimbo or Ngozi in the streets of Nigeria? FYI Op you travelling out or living outside the country doesn't make you much exposed than an average girl back in Nigeria. I know ladies in Nigeria that can school you on things about Canada and they haven't even been to the international airport. My advice to ladies in Diaspora is that they should be lay back in their approach and set realistic goals in the kind of man they want. They should explore other race and people from perhaps other nationalities in Africa. They should also utilize social media in establishing contacts and if possible reconnect with friends and former classmates. Nobody knows where they can find true love. God help us all and you all should pardon my lengthy post. I don't even appreciate it.
What she meant by "less exposed" from my understanding is having a different perspective on life. Trust me, no matter how educated you are, when you leave the continent called Africa, you see life in a different manner. You'll want more from life, you won't live for just 3 square meals and a dick at night. That is the kind of thinking most retarrded Nigerian men expect most Nigerian women to have. Ask an average Nigerian man if he can ask same from a foreigner. They can't. But they see the Nigerian woman as a slave to their dreams and desires.

Besides only a lonely lady would have such time to reply breaking in messages just like you've done

I can assure you the O. P is a beautiful, well packaged, independent lady. One that from your post you can't get. You are a ball-less and spineless man who think bringing down a woman with words would make you better. But the joke is on you. To even think you use another man's picture on your profile says a lot about you.

I'll state clearly without mincing words, the O.P IS WAY OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE. Get of the keypad now, boy and make something out of your miserable misogynistic life

But I have bought some stuffs at Netto etc, so i wouldn't advise people to come with things like toiletries etc, cosmetics like perfumes, cream etc, is very much available at even a cheaper price than Nigeria.
Only refrain from the natural inclination to convert to naira at every moment.

I will advise u get a rolling handluggage o.

Ok.... thanks. I actually have the rolling hand luggage as you described and it should weight around 3.85kg too. I'll make use of it like that jare. I hope there are carts @instabul that we can use to move our luggage. Cos I'm planning to carry 1 rolling box, 1 GMg, 1 hand luggage and 1 backpack undecided

Guys!

Never u put a foodstuff in your hand luggage, it caused kasala for me.
Anything that smells should also not be in your hand luggage.
Arrange someone in your city to pick you up from the airport especially if u are a first traveler with zero German language skills.
Language is really important, I have been hit by it on a number of occasions, the worst was when my guy called a taxi for me and the man didn't recognize my exact destination.
He kept talking to me in the car and I was just looking at him like a slowpoke, it really got to him, he had to come down to get clarity from people on the road.
Germany is quite safe and lively even at night, don't feel insecured based on our Nija orientation, was a little bit tensed when I was still lost outside by almost 11pm.
U will notice a whole lot of new culture here, true love really
Lufthansa and Ethiopian airlines also fly from PHC airport.
I will advise ur hand luggage should be mostly clothes etc because a lot of things would be collected from you as prohibited items.
Be confident in your approach, we were only two blacks from IST to Ber. no sleep on a bicycle.
This is really a place to be but for the language and is surmountable.
God bless our helpful guys.

Will always update my experience here.
Shalom!

Best of luck to Summer hopefuls!
Is it possible to carry a hand luggage and also have a backpack with you

U will notice a whole lot of new culture here, true love really exist here. Everyone shows affection indiscriminately in the public, same with gays (my first time seeing gay affection, God help us)
The connecting flight at Istanbul is usually a hectic one, don't dull
Some Nigerians u will find here will be altruistic to u while many others will just be indifferent. So drop any entitlement mentality at Naija, no one owes u anything here, if u get helped, show gratitude.
Even some locals would want to help u if d understand ur problem, especially for the student side.
