bixton: 3 months to upgrade the building...
Did you request for a written scope of the work to be done in phases/stages from commencement to completion ? I will ask him to prepare the scope of work to be done in stages as you suggested. I will tell him to prepare them for when we meet for renegotiation. thanks |

bixton: 3 months to upgrade the building...
Did you request for a written scope of the work to be done in phases/stages from commencement to completion ? My mum have been speaking with him because I'm currently not in the country. I will be returning soon to discuss extensively with him and negotiate. So I want to be armed with enough information before going into the discussion as I will not be in the country during the renovation. Please find attached the old model of the building ( the ground floor is the same as first floor ) and the new model (few changes were made verbally to change the 4 bdrm flat to 3 bdrm flat and a room and parlor self contain ). I appreciate your and everyone else's input

TheCongo2: If someone gives you a gun to kill your own family, you still have the choice to say no—but what if you're desperate, uneducated, or promised wealth and power? This is how many of these rebel leaders are recruited. They are not fighting for ideology or justice; they are fighting for personal gain, manipulated by powerful external forces that want to keep the Congo weak. You can only be manipulated if you are also only looking for your personal gain. if I try to bribe you , you can take it or leave it. but if you are someone with corrupt personality you will never see the choice to leave the bribe . |

TheCongo2: Rebel groups don’t just arise randomly—they are often tools used by external powers to control resources in weak or unstable states.
Countries like Norway, UAE, Denmark, and Canada have strong institutions, governance, and economic systems that ensure resources benefit the nation. In contrast, many African countries, including the DRC, Sudan, and Central African Republic, suffer from weak institutions, corruption, and external interference. But the tools do not use themselves. The rebels are Congolese killing and making life uncomfortable for their fellow Congolese. Are you saying if I give you a gun to kill your family , you will do it it just because I gave you a gun or you did it just because if your selfish benefit from the act |

TheCongo2: The war in the Congo is about coltan and other rare minerals that power the global tech industry. Coltan is essential for making smartphones, laptops, and other electronic devices, and Rwanda has been falsely presenting itself as a major coltan exporter while smuggling it from the Congo.
For over 25 years, Rwanda has been involved in destabilizing eastern Congo to keep control over this valuable resource. The Western powers backing Rwanda benefit from this arrangement because it ensures a steady flow of minerals at low costs, without Congo directly profiting from its own wealth.
This is why the conflict never ends—it's an economic war disguised as an ethnic or political struggle. I agree it is a battle for resources. But why is it that rebel groups arise in African countries with resources. Norway, UAE, Denmark, Canada are countries rich in resources , we don't see rebel groups there. But always African countries with a selfish group of people wanting to control everything illegally and ship to the west but gain the money for themselves . of course , the west will encourage this or look the other way as long as their people's lives are not affected. |

Don't allow the westerners decieve you. They get into your country and tell you you're a slave, open your eyes, make you feel you're living a lie.
And you connive with them to kill your people. I respect the Muslim/Islamic culture.
Culture is your heritage. Always respect it. If you don't like it, get the Bleep out.
Everything was built on blood. Nobody, not even Christians are totally good. Stick to 1 religion, belief or whatever and respect others.
Everybody, killed to be where they are today, same with countries, and the west are the worst-off
But you travel out and see your Culture as backward. I laugh you in Spanish.
Your heritage/Culture is your identity. Culture is created for man .Man is not created for culture. Culture is meant to adapt to man. You cannot because of culture make life difficult for yourself or someone else . For example , the culture of Killing of twins in calabar , should they have continued with because it's their culture. Those people that carry culture on their head only say it because it favors them . When it goes against them, you will see them asking for the culture to be canceled. This same Saudi had the culture that women shouldn't drive cars and go to cinema alone. When they saw how this limit their revenue generation , they changed it. Saudi has a culture that no woman unmarried should live with a man. Did they not change it for C Ronaldo and his girlfriend? All this culture of "Don't criticize the monarchy ", is just something made up to keep themselves in power forever . |

savcy: "Strategic partnership" is the right description. Thank you for that. But Russia was a part of the plan. Can't plan for Europe's prosperity and dismiss Russian influence entirely. The situation with Zelensky you described isn't out of place at all. There was a bit of reluctance from the EU front with providing weapons to Ukraine at the initial stages, and that tells a lot. Even till date, only the US is planning on send F-series jets there, because they have other interests in the war beyond EU's prospects, and the EU knows this.
No one is asking why France has been quiet. Most EU countries right now are speaking through Hungary, and asking for negotiations to commence. They don't want the war to continue. They know Russia will pound Ukraine to smithereens regardless of ammunition provided. There's a reason they all fear Russia till tomorrow. The Hungarian PM said it earlier in the week that a victory over Russia in Ukraine is a mirage. Won't happen. Zelensky is doing what he's doing because he knows Russia won't escalate the war unless their border is breached, and they know the US has their backs. I'm neither pro-Russ or Pro-Us Pro-Ukraine, but I think the sensible thing right now is to negotiate. If sanctions couldn't hold North Korea from building ICBMs and Nukes, you think it would stop Russia? Like the US and UK, Russia is a force of nature. They'll forever be here, until Christ comes. Hahah.... which Europeans are speaking through Hungary. Hungary is totally inconsequential in Europe ,no one gives a shit about them. This is a country that does not adhere to EU standards , which is why many aids have been withheld. Orban is only being tolerated because unanimous votes are needed for ascension of new countries to NATO and also approval of funds for Ukraine. |

savcy: What many do not know is that the Ukraine war actually halted a huge plan the EU had to get itself off US influence, and that plan involved integrating Russia into EU affairs. NATO would probably have been disbanded in 10 years time, because EU powers were already getting weary of it and questioning it's continued existence. This war granted legitimacy to NATO, a development which saddens Germany, Hungary, France and Belgium, because they had a plan to create a military organisation that would protect EU interests solely. EU isn't really happy about how the war is progressing. They all want an end to it, either militarily or by negotiations. But they want it to happen now. They're weary of it and just want it to end. The EU still and will always see Russia as a brother. You type a lot of rubbish in bold letters , lol..... just making up theories from thin air |

You asked for what you could do to help the situation Sit the child down , apologize to him (because you and your husband has wasted 5 yrs of his life ) , ask the boy what he really wants to do and tell him you are ready to give him unconditional support. After the boy tells you what he wants to do, look for an expert in that field to have a discussion with your son and tell him the advantages and disadvantages of his choice, and also tell him the amount of work he needs to put in to succeed in the field.
Give the boy time to make his decision. After the boy makes his decision , sit him down and tell him how you will support him. But also try to cajole him to always open up to you when he's not sure about anything.
During this period , go on fun trips with him , have light hearted conversations with him , watch football with him, Invite his friends who you like their characters over.
Also continue your research on his field of choice and look for materials or mentors to support him (you are doing all this work because you already wasted 5 yrs of his life). Encourage him to also keep studying and dreaming. Life is full of roses and thorns.
You noticed I didn't mention your husband in the solution. That is because I don't think the man has the boy's best interest at heart . Madam fight for your son and love him unconditionally . There is nothing wrong with him. He's just a young man whose hopes and dreams were shattered by his PARENTS. Now he's low in confidence and has no self belief. |

From all I read here , your husband is the problem not the son. If this story was told by someone else , I would have said the man is hell bent on destroying the boy's life. Who the hell forces someone to do pharmacy ahead of computer science in this digital age. All the beatings are supposed to inflicted on the father because his exposure and knowledge is awfully limited. I really feel disgusted reading his actions at jeopardizing his child's future. I honestly pity the child because he's seen as the problem whereas he's not. He has just given up all hope on life and currently lacks Motivation.
The story almost seems similar to mine, where my dad was almost insistent on me doing accounting and my mum medicine . I collected the money from jamb from them and filled for computer science . I was almost chased out of the house after that Family meetings after family meetings were done, I stood my ground and was help by the fact that I couldn't change the form again .
The fact that the course I chose was my decision was an extra motivation for me, because I knew I couldn't afford to fail.
Many years later this course has opened unlimited doors for me. After my uni , I started with ecommerce(with my parents discouraging me) , I made loads of money (that made them shut up), move abroad and there are jobs available for me everywhere because everyone wants an IT graduate and are ready to pay loads of money for it.
In summary , I'm disgusted by your husband actions and your own inactions . I hope the boy finds motivation to move on with life and quickly .
PS: This is no spiritual shit, don't take the boy to any pastor to add problems to his problems . He is in this condition because of his unexposed , uneducated and uncaring parents. You guys are not ready to parent a child and you have 5 already . It's so unfortunate |
