@Ayolight and mothers in the house.pls my baby is 11 months old.he cannot sit on his own nor crawl.he cant even hold his neck very well and that is my major challenge. i would like to no the food or medicine madam Ayo gave her baby cos my son is in the same position now. we have gone to the hospital and was admitted for 2 weeks.all they said was we are not feeding him well which we are. we have treated oka ori with herb but he still cant hold his neck very well nor sit.
pls i need advise

Good morning all, pls I need help my LO is 3 weeks old and has being having problems passing stool, she use to poo like 5 times a day but now iy is just once, her tummy is hard and she is so uncomfortable especially at night, she cries most times at night and we have tried dipping cotton bud in metholatan but she is still not able to pass stool. Pls advice on what to do MIL says is oka dont know the meaning and wants to give her agbo but I dont want that

You didn't state earlier that he can sit. He probably need help in working on the muscles to hasten his motor skills. Is he using the baby walker yet? The doc I sent an email hasn't replied me but I was told there are quite a number of consultant paed at FMC ado ekiti. Can you help ans these ques:
1, Does he play with his hands? Like touching stuffs and bringing it to his mouth and head?

2 does he clap his hands or bring them together?

3 does he roll on the floor on both sides?

I just stumbled on this as you didn't 'mention' my handle properly, so I wasn't notified and I don't come on here often as I see that we have very experienced mothers giving out advise and suggestions. Kudos to you all.

What is your baby Genotype? I could have suspected IUGR but I ruled it out since you said she was born healthy and full of life. I also ruled out neurological disorders like palsy because the motor development isn't extremely delayed. There are 2 factors I 'suspect' low muscle tone or improper handling/training. Babies do not develop equally and don't compare your baby with others. I will take time to break this 2 factors down for you.

Some babies suffer poor muscle distribution and thus, it takes more time for them to do some activities/actions like crawling or sitting down.

Second one is related to the first factor which is handling/training. Our doctors are seriously stressed and it takes chance and grace to get one to properly access you when you need a special attention, this was why they and the nurses were quick to throw shade at you when they see your baby( I stood by your words that your baby is well fed). Because they could have properly sit you down and explain to you how you could aid your baby to start on his motor skills. It is clear here that its tak
ing time for him to reach one of the important mile stone which is sitting, by now, your baby should have gone past sitting 6 months behind!. There are some sitting practices our elderly mothers train babies with( like sitting him down in a carton of indomie and supporting his back with clothes or foam). Do this like 4 or 5 times in a day and don't leave him unmonitored. After he has crossed that sitting stage( this shouldn't take long before he starts sitting, say 1 month), the next is to put him on a walker. BUT if he doesn't sit with this method within 1 month, then he need a neurologist and not a paed

my dear pls take her to a teaching hospital. Don't cross your hands. Please I beg you. Go to luth fin.or a proper diagnosis, better to know what's wrong and correct it now than have complications later. E hugs to your baby

@ayolight, so sorry abt wot u may b going thru.I think ur baby has failure to thrive.Wen did u start noticing d inability to add weight? wot was birth weight?is he holding his neck and sitting yet?apart frm failure to add wt, is he otherwise normal? does he tire easily? was his heart checked at d hospital? sorry for d plenty questions.In all, u need to c a good paed, as sm1 suggested, u cn go to luth, they hv diff specialists there.Please STOP d herbal meds for nw(at least u ve used them for sometym to no avail).May God wipe away ur tears

ayobarmy: hi mummies in the house, how are ur kids doin? it's been a while being here bcuz of some few challenges, but God as finally interveined. please my wife as been complaining of pain in her lower abdomen anytime i went deep into her during sex, even when she got pregnant, she was diagnosed of short cervix, but she had the baby successfully after so much pain. but am still concerned about that pain during sex. though doc says it's nothing to worry about that, that's the way her body is.... any1 with such experience and possible solutions? ....
