TV/Movies / Sholay Movie Facts To Know by ayushchan(m): 1:18pm On Jun 05, 2018
Sholay changed Hindi Cinema a lot; it was the first movie that had western theme where typical Bollywood elements were embedded. There are 100s of facts and stories about Sholay; let’s talk about a few here.

One of the hit songs of the movie “Ye Dosti Hum Nahi Todengey” was shot in 21 days. If you observe the video, there is nothing much noticed that would take that much time to be shot. However, the creators were much passionate about the movie, many scenes were finalized among best of the best shots.

more facts - https://www.filmyearth.com/some-interesting-facts-about-sholay-movie-must-know/

The movie was shot in a village called Ramnagar; but being Ramgarh in the movie the village was named Ramgarh.
Do you know how many Filmfare awards Sholay won, only one for editing. It feels a huge surprise to know the fact. We may satisfy our soul by recalling The Shawshank Redemption’s Oscar status.
TV/Movies / Swades Movie Review by ayushchan(m): 2:49pm On Jun 03, 2018
Swades is a movie that I believe has the most standards in Bollywood. There are many Hindi movies that have been praised and listed in Top movies of the world.

However, Swades consists of basic principal of cinema and it also has an effective screenplay, you don’t get bored during the huge watch time of over 3 hours.

The only movie I remember that has such high standards is Aamir Khan’s “Taare Zameen Par”.

Both the movies have a script that gets built over time, like a series or chain.
Additionally, I am impressed by the logics in Swades, it remains realistic till the very end, leaves a huge impact on viewers’ mind.

TV/Movies / Dangal Movie Review (A Sports Drama Loaded With Conflicts) by ayushchan(m): 2:58pm On May 30, 2018
The reason I haven’t compared Dangal with other biopics such as MS Dhoni and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is that it isn’t just a story of some passionate athletes. Dangal is more than a usual sports flick; it shows women empowerment, family drama, values and more.

Having heard all these qualities, it feels like a scripted story, however it is a real one.

The storyline has impressed me a lot, it is loaded with conflicts. Most movies have one or two reasons to doubt; but Dangal has many and it goes till the end.

I love the fact that the movie houses realistic approach. In the movie, Aamir’s elder daughter Geeta loses her first fight but gets awarded. The director would have shown her winning, but it won’t be this realistic.

TV/Movies / Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge Interesting Facts by ayushchan(m): 3:54pm On May 28, 2018
No matter in which part of the world you are, there are some flicks that you are aware about even if they belong to a different country. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is among those compelling movies that world loves.

There are some facts about DDLJ that are interesting and you should know.

In the movie, Shahrukh Khan’s name is Raj, he is a jolly and active young man, has a great style statement. But you would laugh to hear his full name, it was Raj-nath. Sounds like some boring old man.

It was the debut movie of the director Aditya Chopra. Along with him, Karan Johar made his acting debut in a side role; now he is a leading director of Bollywood.

TV/Movies / Peter Rabbit Movie Review by ayushchan(m): 5:06pm On May 24, 2018
The 2018 Peter Rabbit movie is the most surprising ones I have watched this year. Before watching it, it felt same as the book by Beatrix Potter. However, the director and writer of the flick have involved much value in it.

Having all the elements such as humor and chase scenes, the movie also includes change in the characters.

It isn’t like those Pixar or other movies that begin with a call to action and make the audience feel a huge conflict. Peter Rabbit is a different cinema, it entertains and keeps you engaged through its humor and fight sequences, and it wins hearts by showing characters in guilt and realizing their mistake.

TV/Movies / Samson 2018 Movie Review by ayushchan(m): 1:51pm On May 18, 2018
There is nothing much new to the table from Samson, however the movie creates its space and feels a bit fresh if not entirely. It is set in the ancient Israel where Hebrews are being ruled by the brutal Philistines. They are taxed much and any mount against it is shut forever.

Having a no-new idea, the script of the flick is much compelling. The movie basically shows two separate chapters that are related to each other. What happens in the first half; happens in the second half as well but with more intensity.

I was surprised to watch that many similarities in the both parts of the movie. It isn’t a lag, actually it is done really well and looks smooth and natural.

So, it keeps being compelling throughout and don’t let the viewers leave the seats.

TV/Movies / Loveratri Movie 2018, Aayush And Warina's Debut In Bollywood by ayushchan(m): 12:40pm On May 14, 2018
Since superstar Salman Khan has shared about SKF's upcoming project "Loveratri", people and media are taking much interest in the movie. Aayush, the brother-in-law of Salman is making his debut from the film.

It is a romantic-drama Hindi flick that is set during the festival of Navratri. Moreover, Warnia, who is opposite to Aayush in the movie is also debuting. Salman shared in a tweet that he found the actress via his app Being In Touch. Actor Ronit Roy is also in a major role, probably a villain in the story.

TV/Movies / 12 Strong Movie Review by ayushchan(m): 12:44pm On May 11, 2018
The quality 12 Strong holds is that it feels larger than life where a team of 12 soldiers is send to Afghanistan to eliminate Taliban that has around 50,000 terrorists with them. But, it is absolutely based on a true story.

Within a few minutes of start, the movie displays that incident of 9/11; it becomes compelling since then.

As I expected before watching it, there are many scenes where soldiers talk personal with each other, it helps a lot to make them connect with the audience. Chris Hemsworth is in the focus most and he is a real hero; however the character played by Navid Negahban makes the script complete.

Super 30 is a 2019 Bollywood biopic movie about Indian Mathematician Anand Kumar. There have been months left in the release of the movie, but because of the super star featuring in the lead, people have started talking about it.

Anand Kumar is an inspirational personality who offers a free class in Bihar called Super 30, makes prepared poor students for IIT entrance exams.

TV/Movies / Padmaavat Movie Review by ayushchan(m): 11:35am On May 09, 2018
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is so fluent is portraying epic and historic dramas. He has made a simple storyline of Padmaavat work really-really well.

There is nothing new to the concept of the movie; it shows an obsessed ruler Alauddin Khilji trying to have the queen of Chittor. However, from the first scene, the movie builds intensity and keeps it till the end.

Every situation in the movie is showcased with much seriousness and the dialogues support it too.

In any tale, there should be a powerful villain, and in Padmaavat there is one. Alauddin’s ideology is in between, he doesn’t love Padmavati nor he is sexually obsessed; it is a kind of crush and greed. It helps the character to be more impactful.

TV/Movies / Monster High: Boo York Movie Review by ayushchan(m): 2:30pm On May 08, 2018
Monster High Boo York is a musical and it implements it really well. The movie successfully showcases good and bad emotions of the characters by music and it also moves the story.

The movie houses three simple call to actions in the script, but when brought together, it makes Boo York really compelling.

I would especially like to talk about “Empire, Empire” song that happens when Ramses and his daughter Nefera feel about being more powerful. It has nice music and dancing steps.

Boo York is more focused on Nile family, hence it creates much empathy to Cleo than other Ghouls. In the movie, Cleo’s boyfriend Deuce helps the screenplay being more entertaining

TV/Movies / Movie Review: Black Panther by ayushchan(m): 10:35am On May 07, 2018
Before watching Black Panther, it was expected that the movie will compel well. But, it actually does it a step ahead. There are multiple reasons in the script that evoke interest in the audience.

You see a hidden land named Wakanda that is protected from the outside world because of a prosperous matter Vibranium, an ideologically powerful Villan Erik and King T'Challa in doubt with his abilities.

There are a few characters in the movie that make it cool and entertaining. I had my eyes on Letitia Wright’s character Shuri, Black Panther’s sister.

Her cool attitude and relation with her brother feels good on screen.

Moreover, the action scenes are directed really-really well with fascinating camera angles. Along with showcasing larger than life battles, the movie also displays real life man to man combats.

TV/Movies / Movie Review: Pacific Rim Uprising by ayushchan(m): 9:28pm On May 05, 2018
Pacific Rim Uprising is a good example of showcasing old-school concept in an attractive way. Such mainstream cinema depends on modifications and twists in the movie.

The movie displays compelling twists, conflicts, empathy and other elements needed to evoke interest in the audience.

Along with the main cast of Jake and Cailee, Asian actress Jing plays an important role that makes the script most interesting and holds you on the seats.

In the movie, Jake (John) is vice versa of his father Stacker who fought like a hero in the war against Kaijus. Jake is more a party man. The character manages to receive little empathy but you get connected with it because of its attitude.

TV/Movies / Movie Review: Accident Man by ayushchan(m): 8:13pm On Apr 28, 2018
Accident Man doesn’t try to impress you by the script and concept; the movie is more focused on material things such as its characters and theme and it does it really-really well.

If you have watched the trailer, you know the basic plot where Scott Adkins’s girl gets killed and he suspects one of his gang members. But this isn’t the only thing it is about; actually the assassination happens after the first half. So, the events and the interesting characters makes the movie compelling before it.

If we talk about the action, it is really intense and fascinating. You just don’t see it occasionally; it keeps going during the entire movie. And believe me, you feel Scott as a real life superhero; nothing can knock him down.

TV/Movies / Movie Review: Braven by ayushchan(m): 7:12pm On Apr 27, 2018
Braven is an OK one time watch action-thriller flick; you are not going to witness a script or idea that makes you feel wow. I believe that majority of you already have this idea after watching its trailer.

It is a story of a logger Joe Braven who loves his family to the fullest. One of his friends gets recruited to transport drugs; one the way his friend’s truck gets an accident and from here the life threatening trouble embarks for Bravens when he hides the drugs in Joe’s place.

So, you can see the script feels no-fresh and there have been countless flicks on such idea. What works for Braven is the empathy to the Braven family. The director has invested a big portion of the film to make you feel emotional about the family.

TV/Movies / Movie Review: Den Of Thieves by ayushchan(m): 8:55pm On Apr 26, 2018
There are a few elements that make Den of Thieves an effective and interesting movie even after having no unique concept.

First one is Gerard Butler as Nick, though he is a cop but he feels more like a goon. He is ruthless, talkative, keeps smoking, has tattoos all over and has all the other thug qualities.

Second one is the character of Donnie Wilson played by O'Shea. He is the one who elevates this simple story and brings interest. Donnie works for a gang chased by Nick; after being arrested by Nick, he plays from the both the sides fairly.

Last one is the action; in Hollywood action movies, you witness all those larger than life bouncing of vehicles and one man show. Den of Thieves shows you heavy action while being in the fence of reality.

TV/Movies / Movie Review: Ankhon Dekhi (nice Idea With Lags) by ayushchan(m): 6:38pm On Apr 24, 2018
Sanjay Mishra starrer Ankhon Dekhi is a 2013’s drama Bollywood movie that has an interesting concept. What makes it more appealing is the actor himself who is better known for his cinematic performances.

Though, the concept is fresh and interesting, the movie doesn’t throw a suitable impact and mostly moves in the character’s boundaries.

However, there are characters in the movie such as Sanjay’s family members and neighbors who don’t let you be bored and triggers to light laughs.

The movie may or may not succeed to impress you, but the director and writer Rajat Kapoor has given a really good effort to build it a valuable cinema.

TV/Movies / Movie Review: Nanu Ki Jaanu (horror-comedy) by ayushchan(m): 3:03pm On Apr 23, 2018
Nanu Ki Jaanu is for the audience that wants to enjoy a few hours with their friends and family. The movie doesn’t bring anything new and much interesting to the screen.

Once the movie gets its main call to action, its story becomes still and you witness events. But, it shows events really well and makes you involved in this comedy-horror movie.

What has impressed me are the characters in movie. Abhay Deol plays a carefree thug, partnered with Dabbo, played by his co-star in Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!. There are a few more characters added just to make the movie entertaining such as a boy who cons Abhay and later his mom.

TV/Movies / Movie Review: Blackmail 2018 by ayushchan(m): 3:10pm On Apr 22, 2018
Blackmail is a fine black-comedy crime movie that holds its audience till the climax. What has impressed me a lot it its script where the movie keeps building; it never gets stop in between. Characters keep involving along the way and add interest in the movie.

It is a story of a man named Dev who has been in debt; on a day he seeks an opportunity to pay his debt in his wife’s affair. All this not only feels interesting and fresh but hilarious too.

There is a character of a detective in the movie and you will realize its importance in the climax which is really amazing.

TV/Movies / Movie Review: Missing 2018 by ayushchan(m): 1:10pm On Apr 22, 2018
As a thriller, Missing is a really fine movie. But, this can’t hide the weaknesses of the film, especially in the script and logics.

It is a story of a couple who visits Mauritius and there their child gets missing. While all are suspecting a suspicious man, it turns out that the couple is not married and both are strangers.

From here, the story begins to shift towards more drama and somewhere loses thriller. Though, it engages the audience really well. But, I have a few complaints with the script; it should have been more straightforward and thrilling.

I noticed two huge logics mistakes in Missing that helps the movie to turn weak.
With all these good and bad, Missing is a nice creation in the end.

TV/Movies / Movie Review: Lagaan 2001 by ayushchan(m): 11:15am On Apr 22, 2018
Before reviewing Lagaan, I watched a documentary that shows how was it made. Believe me, I didn’t expect that it would have taken that much work and struggle to make it.

Nothing was artificially made in the movie; it was filmed in a real village in Gujrat. That is the reason the movie feels so realistic.

The runtime of Lagaan is about three and a half hour, though the movie never makes you bored. It is understood that how much effort the director and his team would have put to deliver such masterpiece.

The movie is a good mixture of passion and drama where it maintains a balance.

TV/Movies / Review: Mughal-e-azam (1960) by ayushchan(m): 9:52am On Apr 22, 2018
Mughal-E-Azam is not just a high rated cinematic movie but is a rare piece that showcases filmmaking expertise. It took more than a decade to complete the movie and a ton of money. That was the period where Hindi Cinema was elevating and Mughal-E-Azam played a crucial role doing so.

I have watched many historic Hindi movies, but haven’t felt a movie this much realistic. The characters, the palace, the sets all feel so real that you get into its world.

From the very beginning, the story begins to build where the emperor Akbar prays to have a son. Till the climax you witness so many things and a few twists. Additionally, the climax makes you feel wow and you take many things from the movie home.

TV/Movies / Movie Review: Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone by ayushchan(m): 3:49pm On Apr 21, 2018
I feel the concept of Harry Potter movies among the most creative; a hidden and adventurous world where there is a magic school. Though, all the movies in the series have exciting scripts such as Chamber of Secrets, the first movie is always special in a film’s universe.

Philosopher's Stone doesn’t get started or reach to its main call to action soon, it elevates gradually and the story keeps building during the watch time. I believe it is a recipe of a strong script, especially a mystery one; writers can study it to improve.

TV/Movies / Movie Review: Raincoat 2004 by ayushchan(m): 2:39pm On Apr 21, 2018
There are some movies that compel value by their concept and some movies accomplish it with their screenplay. Raincoat holds a powerful screenplay that makes it valuable cinematically.

The movie showcases feelings of two lovers played by Ajay Devgn and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan so well that it takes you into their life. Audience can feel for them and start caring about them.

It is a story of a decent but debt man who visits his love after six years, and from here, the director puts your hand and makes you to get involved.

When the movie seems predictable just before the end, its climax proves you wrong; I was really impressed by such sad endings.
