Read my post again to see what really causes diabetes. You can stay away from junk food and still come down with diabetes. I have patients who have this metabolic disorder and they have never been fans of junk food. Everything must be consumed in moderation even alcohol as it can cause blood sugar spikes. Even the fruits you consume have sugar but in mostly fructose form. Staying away from junk food is not a guarantee that one won't have diabetes especially if it is in a family line (hereditary). My latest patient started experiencing polyuria, polydipsia and polyphagia after consuming two sachets of Chelsea dry gin. Guess what! She's diabetic

And who told you it causes diabetes? Most cases of diabetes out there are caused by issues with the pancreas which produces insulin. If the pancreas is not producing enough insulin or fails to produce insulin at all, even alcohol would trigger diabetes. All our food in Nigeria is really starchy which means you are consuming lots of sugar whether you take ice cream or not. Your pancreas is doing it's job well and that's why you don't have diabetes.
