Igbo people worship money too much and forget humanity. They have this competition mentality. Who's in-law has the biggest cash to spend. At the end of the day, it becomes difficult for their daughters to leave abusive marriages cos the family no fit refund the huge bride price. This is another section where Yoruba tribe reigns supreme. In Yorubaland, the bride's parents would always understand even when the groom doesn't have much. They'll even support the wedding financially. Wise Igbo ladies and men are now organizing simple weddings that would not put burden on the couple. That huge bride price thing is just part of poverty mentality. Stop using your daughters as goods to make money. Their happiness should come first. Igbo people make una hear word. Learn from other tribes that put happiness first. If someone from another tribe wants to marry their daughters, they'll deliberately make the process cumbersome especially in the area of finance. They always have issues with other tribes. It's only a few enlightened ones that are free spirited. Funny enough, a lot of them would still come on the forum to accuse Yoruba people of tribalism. We all know who the real trisbalists are. These things need to stop. The economy is not smiling and not every woman would get married to a wealthy man. There are working class men who can still take good care of their families. He doesn't have to fork out millions for bride price and then be taking care of in-laws again after marriage.
