So, the success of this countries is as a result of islamic banking?I need you to convince me, with verifiable evidence, why you think the islamic banking is a better alternative to conventional banks.

I may not know anything in economkcs but a first class graduate of biochemistry sure should know something about many thingss,
couple of months back while Iwas in osun state, I was watching a program on NTA osogbo about some enterprenuers and how their businesses suffer cos of debt servicing, the least lending band lends at an interest rate of about 14% and for them to stay in business they cant pay all their debts at at time but still have to increase commodities' prices. Then Sanusi came with bank of industries that lend money to these Guys at 7% interest rate, you can imagine how these peeps were happy and praising CBN for establishing BOI, they said they can pay debt a lot easily and an even reduce the prices of their produce and make more profit, thats just reducing interest by 50%, now imagine what would happen if you can borrow from a bank that will lend to you at 0% interest rate, even YOU will enjoy from it cos you'll uy a lot cheaper than now,, hence Economic stability is imminent, lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Erm . . . Trigonometry Dude Why you sabe lie Please use google . . . its free.

Algebra also is arguable and the Arabic numerals themselves are based on Hindu numerals.

Google is f.u.cking free likewise ur brain use them both to read the articles you get then u'll no algebra, trigonometry etc are invented by arabs and muslims and that hindus only started the numerals i.e just 1 2 3 4 etc and no complex calculations like trigonometry,

Nothing like that in any constitution(the one in bold). Nigeria is a secular state by 1979 constitutional law dubbed after the American's, which was later adopted in 1999. Don't tell me that Nigeria is not a secular state, if not you are I will be very hash on you for trying to violate my constitutional rights. State steers clear from religion matter.

NO ISLAMIC BANKING IS NEEDED IN NIGERIA!

Are you a graduate or you are still in sec. sch. cos I see no reason why you are shouting secular, Nigeria being a secular state does not mean muslims and xtians are not entitled to socio-economic credits and values but that "no religion should control the affairs of a state"
see my quote and the words in bold and know the meaning before you reply,

@AZOO

THE EDUCATION THAT YOU ARE BENEFITING TODAY IS AS A RESULT OF WESTERN Education. And history says it wasn't force on anybody, that was the reason why your brothers in the north are suffering it today. someone that has his family enjoying abroad will tell your brothers to tie a 5kg explosive and bomb himselves in the name of practicing sharia.

why why and why?

How many schools as sanusi built in the north, how many hospital has he funded, how many children in the north has he trained, how many widows had benefited from him.

There is no smoke without a fire and no unwritten script without a bad motive.

Note:All books in history never said that Nigerians were force to receive western education and christianity.
Start reading your book from the front to the back pls

Read my book front to back!! Please dont let go down that line,
You aint forcing people to accept xtianity by saying if dey dont accept xtianity no western education for them,, doesnt that sound like coercion whatelse could cry wolf??

Katsumoto:

Lets agree for a second that Mexico isn't better than Nigeria; using your argument, shouldn't the Governors have a similar profile? Instead, the Governor of Mexico's profile reads like a Brigadier in the Army whilst your Sanusi's reads like a corporal.  grin

The Governor of Mexico's CB attended better schools
The Governor of Mexico's CB has better professional experience
The Governor of Mexico's CB was considered for the IMF post; he was second in the vote. Your Sanusi wasn't even mentioned
The Governor of Mexico's CB was a Deputy MD at the IMF
The Governor of Mexico's CB has a Ph.D in Economics from a prestigious institution; it appears SLS doesn't have even a master's degree
The Governor of Mexico's CB has publications that actually relate to economics while SLS is writing Islamic papers

If you return with any more insults and I don't reply in kind, just know that I am ignoring you. And not that I can't respond.

NOW ASK URSELF WHOS THE GREATEST LOOSER, A CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR THAT CANNOT TREAT MALARIA OR AN INTERN THAT IS TRYING TO CURE IT,

Available evidence have shown that countries practicing islamic banking is no better than their counterparts not practicing it.Take a case of pakistan, Iran, Behran,Yemen, Sudan, cambodia etc. These countries are among the poorest and most backward countries in Asia albeit practicing islamic banking.Compare these countries with their neighbours like India,S.Korea, Japan, china and singapore then it becomes obvious that islamic banking is not the panacea to our banking woes. The only striking thing you hear about the islamic banks is that they have cash reserves/assets in excess of trillions of dollars.Apart from this there is no further evidence to corroborate the impression that islamic banking has succeeded in alleviating the poverty of the very poor countries.

stop arguing by intensifying on ur own weaknesses, this only means u'll loose debates if u r in any, now whatabout comparing Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE etc that practice islamic banking and are damn rich with cameroon, Brazil, Serbia, Marcedonia etc that use conventional banking, lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Economic Views
He identifies five characteristics of business cycles in emerging economies that distinguish them from those in industrialized nations[12]:
1. Business cycles in emerging economies are strongly tied to those in industrialized nations.
2. Cycles in emerging economies are more volatile
3. Volatility of emerging economies can be affected by additional factors that don't affect industrialized economies, such as price fluctuations
4. Rapid capital outflows made possible under corporate globalization can have severely harmful effects on emerging economies
5. Emerging economies are subject to the problems associated with exchange-rate regimes
Carstens claims that the solution to these problems is for emerging nations to[12]:
1. Adopt more open trade and investment regimes
2. Allow market control of interest rates
3. Ensure that their banks are robust enough to handle severe macroeconomic changes
4. Enact structural changes such as central bank autonomy, privatization of production, reduced regulations over labor markets, and reduced dependence on foreign savings

There are Christian schools and there are Muslim schools and regular schools. If I send my child to a school that was openly founded on the tenets of a certain religion, then the rules must be obeyed. Nobody forced you to enrol your child there.

Do u have an idea of what BetaThings is saying at all, if you dont understand ask. How about during the missionary days when many muslims were converted to xtianity forcefully all in the name of schooling else go back home I bet you know, u jst ignored it.
Also nobody has forced you to bank with the Islamic bank, Its not that CBN is funding the bank, they just gave permission to whomever has the capital base to come forward like Jai Bank is planning to start soon,
Business / Re: Explaining Islamic banking & Finance by azoo: 9:36pm On Jul 06, 2011
Whether you all like it or not Islam is the way, I just hope you people will stop criticizing and put down your brains to think. Couple of months nack while I was in Osun State I was watching NTA oshogbo and some enterprneurs were discussing on an interview about how they use highest percentage of their profits to service debts at 14% interest rate by commercial banks and still struggle to grow their businesses. It is common place to know that they will have to make more by putting more on commodity prices, Then CBN came out with Bank of Industries that lend money out at 7% interest rate, Come and see how there business owners were happy with this BOI. Now imagine when you will have to lend money at 0% interest rate. Not only the business owners will make more profit but prices of commodities will come down and economic stability is consequent.
Why cant you christians pretend to be nice for a lil, we all know you people hate Islam, you dont have to show it, I know your problems are with the name, but I bet you most of you that are christians with businesses will run your asses down to this bank to borrow money because why would you go to Zenith or FCMB that can confiscate ur propwerties if you cant pay debt rather  that go to a bank that lends for free and you can pay with ease,
I dont mean to spite you people o, but you all have fish brains  wink

Why do you always allow these oyinbo to fool you peoe follow them without reasoning. The whites tend not to drink while eating or consume less water cos of their weather which aid water retention in the body, so excess water while eating is detriment to their digestion. But common we loose lot of water in this our weather now, so drink lil water while eating too,

I actually felt the crash scene, it was 94% tight & the subway was 97%, i would actually prefer if the codes entail the solution to the problem cos the travel to another planet just reminded me the way david duchovny's x-file series looked like.
TV/Movies / Re: The Movie Club by azoo: 6:26am On Jul 17, 2009
@ jesoul, please do comment on knowing, i'll like to know if we have the same view about the mOvie,
The plot is tight but i think the ending of the film is wack, the movie did not uphold the suspence that was inherent in it. THe ending is just so predictive from the outset and i was actually expecting a divergence from that. I was actually thinking of a solution to be in the codes that lucinda wrote but it was just too vague to have selected people transported to another safe planet while the earth was completely destroyed by sun's heat and electromagnetic radiation and the only contribution of the code that seem to be the background of the plot is just to tell date of disaster occurence and not even the solution. God bless jerry bruckheimer.
