EducationHow Candidates With Poor UTME Result Can Gain Admission by babaaye(op): 10:53pm On May 30, 2019
A top educator, Prince Adesegun Ogungbayi has spelt out how Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) 2019 candidates of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) with poor result can gain admission, Concise News reports.
Prince Ogungbayi who is the Project Coordinator of Academic Excellence Initiative (AEI), an NGO,was speaking exclusively to Concise News on Wednesday in Lagos.
“This question is a very crucial one at this point in time. Although, that is how it occurs annually due to the failure of admission seekers to prepare for such a critical examination that will determine their academic future and also due to some unscrupulous stakeholders that are encouraging malpractices and morally-bankrupt parents,” Prince Ogungbayi says.

EducationWhat Jamb Regularization Is About And How To Do Regularization by babaaye(op): 3:42pm On May 29, 2019
amb Regularization: What is the meaning of Jamb regularization, how do I know that I am to do Jamb regularization, Jamb regularization deadline, how much is Jamb regularization form and what are the procedures to do Jamb regularization. The salient questions above shall be treated today.
Jamb Regularization is a topic so many candidates are confused about. It took me a very long time to understand what Jamb regularization really means and why you should do regularization

Jamb Regularization
Jamb Regularization simply means the reconciliation of your OND/ND/NCE/HND admission between your institution and JAMB. JAMB regularisation is also known as LATE APPLICATION on JAMB website.
When you got admitted into your previous school, Polytechnic, College of Education, etc. It was possible that you didn’t write Jamb or receive an admission letter from Jamb. This implies that you don’t have Jamb registration number and your school didn’t notify Jamb of your admission.
Should I Do Jamb Regularization?
This is not funny, because you might not have been aware if not that you want to obtain direct entry form, or you want to go to NYSC. Follow the steps below to know whether you are to do Jamb regularization or not:

Go to www.jamb.org.ng
Scroll to the year you wrote your jamb (e.g 2018)
Click on Check Admission Status
Enter your Jamb number and click enter.

There are indications that the Boko Haram insurgents have demanded ransom before releasing members of the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel) they kidnapped two weeks ago.

Gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram had kidnapped a member of the National Youth Service Corps, Ibrahim Amuta and three other members of the church on their way to Chibok to distribute relief items to internally displaced persons and evangelise.

Amuta’s housemate, Success Ezeanya, whose tweet about the abduction went viral on Saturday, told The PUNCH on Monday that he was told by a member of the church that the insurgents had demanded N200m before they could release those they kidnapped.

Although a source in Maiduguri said Boko Haram demanded N100m ransom, Ezeanya said that the family of the abducted corps member was communicating with the church

Ezeanya stated, “I haven’t heard anything from AB’s family members. I think they are communicating directly with the church, so I have not heard anything directly from them. I know he is the only son; I don’t know if he is the only child. According to one of the church members, Boko Haram asked for a ransom of

UTME 2019: JAMB reveals ‘real reasons’ why results are not out (find out here)

he Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has explained why it is yet to release the result of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Daily Post reports that the unsual delay has created room for anxiety and suspicion among candidates.
This is even as the board on Saturday, said 67 exam centres were delisted for various infractions during the recently concluded UTME, raising fears that results from these centres may be cancelled.
Speaking on the development, JAMB Spokesman, Fabian Benjamin told newsmen that they appreciate the anxiety and concerns of candidates.
He, however, requested that JAMB be allowed to do the necessary things before releasing the result.
He said that though results were released pretty much earlier in 2017 and 2018, it was necessary for the board to improve on its credibility this time around.
According to him, many candidates had in the past, escaped with illegitimate acts they perpetrated during the UTME exercise, but that won’t be allowed to continue.
He said JAMB would take its time and scrutinise the outcome of the exercise to ensure that tertiary institutions are proud of whatever they get from JAMB.
“We are gatekeepers but the entire security system of the house could be compromised, if we refuse to keep the gate.
“We would strictly follow the process so that we can get it right. We are less concerned about the time, but (more about) how well and credible (the results become); neither policy meeting nor admission will start this month. So, the delay will not affect any item on our timetable.
“The UTME results are intact and nothing has happened to them. No server has crashed and no other major challenge. The 2019 UTME exercise recorded malpractices but they were not as bad as they used to be.
“Even in previous examinations, there were malpractices but nobody noticed because of the way we handled them. We are not ashamed to admit that there are issues. But our pride is in getting it right. Once we get it right, it will serve as a message that it’s no longer business as usual.
