Politics / What I Told Jonathan About Obasanjo And Amaechi- IBB by babane442(m): 9:01am On Jan 28, 2015
What I Told Jonathan
About Obasanjo and
Amaechi – IBB
There were reports former Military
dictator, General Ibrahim Badamosi
Babangida (IBB) endorsed President
Jonathan for re-election ahead of the
2015 presidential polls, when the latter
paid a visit him a visit at his Minna hill-
top. IBB of course later endorsed
President Jonathan’s main challenger,
Gen. Muhammadu Buhari but IBB has
since cleared the air;
The President came here to ask for my
support. I had only 15 minutes prior
notice before his arrival. When he came, I
took him to my bedroom and had a chat
with him. When he left his people said I
have endorsed him. What am I supposed
to do, deny it? No. For me, that is not a
problem because I am a leader and what
I say or don’t say will give mileage to any
party. When he came here I told him that
he made two political mistakes: first was
to lose Rotimi, the Governor of Rivers
State. When the crisis was going on,
Governor Rotimi was here to pay me a
visit. I confronted him and he spoke to
me very honestly. Despite the problems,
he was not ready to leave the PDP then.
Gen. Obasanjo, myself and a few others
intervened in the matter as leaders of the
party but the president did not foresee the
current situation and didn’t take our
advice seriously. Rotimi is one young
man I like so much for his honesty. He is
very bold and always committed to his
conviction. I told president Jonathan that
the second mistake he made was to call
Obasanjo a motor park tout. What an
insult! That was wrong and the beginning
of his problems. How many times had he
seen Obasanjo insult Gowon? I told him
that supporting him would mean to
endorse the insult on Gen Obasanjo. I
won’t. I advised him to go make peace
with Governor Rotimi and Gen. Obasanjo.
I told him it is almost getting late. I said
to him, you must visit Obasanjo to
apologize to him. I don’t think that the
outcome was favourable because it was
already late. A lot of persons have been
calling me to raise concern that the
President would use the Military to rig the
election and I say to them that it is not
likely. There is esprit de corps. Most of
the soldiers you see today are boys to
our boys. President Jonathan has no
option than to allow the election hold and
to declare the winner. I advised him on
this. Several other persons, both local
and international, have also advised him
on the consequences of using soldiers to
influence the election. I am sure, he
won’t. – Rtd. Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi
Babangida, former Head of State.

Politics / Jonathan Did Not Complete His Ph D Says Obasanjo by babane442(m): 12:00pm On Jan 22, 2015
PRESIDENT JONATHAN DID NOT COMPLETE HIS PhD
Ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo has spoken about the certificate
controversy trailing Buhari's WASC certificate.
Here's what he said: "The truth of the matter is that Jonathan is aware
that Buhari is qualified to contest for President Election but some hawks
with Jonathan, do not want him to contest because they believed that he
will win and come for them.
The issue came up in 2007, and we investigated and found out that his
WASC is with the military and that was why he was allowed to contest in
2007. Buhari cannot listen to anyone about his certificates because as a
General of Nigeria Army, he will speak when he chooses not by Femi Fani
Kayode and Okupe asking him. Fayose and other corrupt people including
Kashamu do not want Buhari because of his anti- corruption slogan.
Even Jonathan did not finish his PhD course but when it was presented
we stated that, it does not matter but many people do not know because
it was PDP thing. I see Buhari as the next President and Jonathan is
aware of that, and that is the reason they are hitting him everywhere to
put confusion in his camp. But a General is always a General."

Politics / Lawyers On The Street For Buhari/osibanjo by babane442(m): 7:02pm On Jan 14, 2015
Lawyers in their Hundreds took to the streets Wednesday in Lagos to
drum support for the Muhammadu Buhari and Pro. Yemi Osinbajo
presidential ticket under the platform of the All Progrssives Congress
(APC).
The lawyers who tagged their outing a “‘Walk for Change” said this is
necessary to create awareness on why Nigerians must support change
of government through the forthcoming general elections.
According to the National Coordinator of the group, Mr. Adesina
Ogunlana the lawyers under the aegis Lawyers4Change who walked
through some major streets in Ikeja also campaigned for a change of
government at the federal level at the February 14 elections.
The ‘Walk’ took off from the Bar Centre of the Nigeria Bar Association
(NBA), Ikeja, through Oba Akinjobi way, Oba Akran road, Obafemi
Awolowo way, Allen Avenue, Toyin street, Olowu street and back to the
centre.
Ogunlana while addressing the crowd at Obafemi Awolowo junction and
Alade market, said that the presidential candidate of the APC, Buhari
and his Vice, Prof. Osinbajo would bring integrity into governance of the
country.
He further said that the combination duo represented honour, integrity,
hardwork and entrenched for rule of law in the country.
He therefore urged the people to ensure that they collected their PVC so
as not to be disenfranchised on election day.

A creul political strategy. A good number of the Notherners believe they wont die unless when thier time is due. Let the bombs blast, let the guns fire. We will take the last of our lives to vote bad leadership out. We dont care to what ethnic or religion you belong, all we want is a united Nigeria with a reasonable cabinate.

Politics / Military Reclaim Bama After Seven Days Of Capture By Boko Haram. by babane442(m): 9:37pm On Sep 07, 2014
BY NDAHI MARAMA, MAIDUGURI
The Boko Haram insurgents that had taken over Bama town last
Monday in Borno state; have Saturday night; fully retreated from the
strategic reclaimed town; as fierce aerial bombardments by the Nigerian
Air Force (NAF) fighter jets, Military sources confirmed Sunday
in Maiduguri, the state capital.
One of the sources said that the aerial bombardments to knockout
Boko Haram’s weapon installations in the border town had recently
overrun; adding that; “our tactical aerial attacks to reclaim this town
had been effective and yielding the desired results. This will enable
the fleeing residents and villagers to return within the shortest period of
time.”
“But the weekend battle however took a heavy toll on civilian lives and
property as the insurgents were said to be embedded with residents,
allegedly used as human shields if the military launches any attack on
the occupied town,” said Mustapha Modu, now taking refuge
in Maiduguri.
On how Bama was reclaimed, the source said: “The first attacks didn’t
really make the expected impact but the second round of bombardment
really injured those Boko Haram boys, which is why they are retreating
now. They are no deeper into Bama, while our people are advancing
and gaining territory. The Boko Haram boys are right now
retreating.
“We are now dislodging them. You know, Air Force have intensified their
efforts; they brought F-7 and different kinds of aircraft. They really
bombarded them.”
Another military source also confirmed the advances of the
Armed Forces in the battle field of Bama but cautioned that it was no
time for celebration yet, as the operation was still ongoing in several
parts of Borno State.
He said the situation was “still very volatile” with Gwoza,
Gambouru, Wulgo and one or two town in northern Borno, are far from
being liberated from the terrorists’ takeover in the last three months.
“We don’t want to say anything official but there are still fights going
on in different places and on different scales, especially by air. This is a
critical and unusual time,” the senior military officer said.
He also explained that apart from the aerial campaign in Bama, NAF
had been effective in support of the ground forces with the launch of air
attacks with different aircraft types, including helicopter gunships.
He said: “We are very deeply involved. You know what we are
having here is a joint operation of the services, even though the Navy
may not be involved right now because of the terrain.
“First and foremost, apart from the airlift, we are equally supporting the
ground forces; in most of the cases we even take the initiative.
In modern warfare, Air Force normally does the first dirty job, clear the
road for the Army to do the mop up operations.
“Like I said, all our platforms are participating fully here. We have Alpha
Jets, we have F7, Beechcraft, Mi35, which is the gunships, and then all
our transport planes: C-130, the G TripleT. So we are participating fully
and playing a significant role in that place.”
A military intelligence source in Maiduguri Sunday also said: “Gwoza is
still a no-go area, I must tell you the truth, as the town is firmly in
hands of the Boko Haram terrorists. We are currently focusing on Bama
before advancing to other areas in northern and southern parts of
Borno state.”
Sources within the military also blamed some of the difficulties
being encountered in the fight against Boko Haram on what they
term indiscriminate retirement of experienced officers.
“Our capital city of Maiduguri is today facing a heavy influx of refugees
from the local government areas in Borno. Borno citizens have been
forced to take refuge in parts of Gombe and Adamawa states mainly on
account of man’s inhumanity to fellow man in the gratuitous name
of religion. These acts are absolutely condemn able in the strongest of
terms,” said the military officer.
However, Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state in his state-
wide broadcast Saturday said: “In the history of Borno State since the
19th century, the latest insurgency was “not the first threat to
our existence as a people. We had faced and survived threats in years
past and we shall survive this by God’s willing.
“We are confident of victory through a reinforcement of our
Armed Forces and the collective will of all of us, citizens, who are
committed to defeating the Boko Haram scourge.”

Politics / Gwoza Town Fall To Boko Haram As Soldiers Flee by babane442(m): 4:52am On Aug 09, 2014
Nigerian Troops Flee Gwoza As Boko Haram
Captures Tank and Driver, Commander
Whereabouts Unknown
The defeat of Nigerian soldiers in Gwoza puts the strategic town
firmly in the hands of Boko Haram militants three days after they
first invaded the town, killing over 100 civilians and several
soldiers. Some units of the Nigerian Army 213 battalion, Operation Task Force
Mike and 234 battalion, which attempted to retake Gwoza Township
from Islamist militant Boko Haram, beat a hasty retreat on Thursday
night as the militants showed superior firepower, SaharaReporters has
learned.
The soldiers were reported to have been led into the battle by
Lieutenant BMG Martins and Lt. Colonel Agu of the 234 Battalion,
formerly Special Operations Battalion (SOB), but they were given the
surprise of their lives when they ran into stiff resistance from the
militants as they advanced on Gwoza from the Madagali axis.
The soldiers retreated but the militants set off in hot pursuit, chased
them and snatched one of their tanks as well as the driver of the tank.
They then called the soldier’s wife and informed her that her husband
was in captivity.
Col. Agu has himself not been since then.
SaharaReporters sources said that following the encounter, some 30
Hilux pick up vans were used to bring back to Mubi in Adamawa State
several wounded and dead soldiers.
The defeat of Nigerian soldiers in Gwoza puts the strategic town firmly
in the hands of Boko Haram militants three days after they first invaded
the town, killing over 100 civilians and several soldiers.
It is the second time in 24 hours that Nigerians soldiers were defeated
by Boko Haram in an attempt to retake Gwoza. The army had recently
retaken Damoboa, over two weeks after Boko Haram overran the town
and planted its flag.
Nigerian army sources in Abuja said that following the attack, they
have yet to find Lt. Col Agu. They further confirmed that about three
military alpha jets have been deployed to the area to assist in the
rescue of soldiers who might be trapped in mountains surrounding
Gwoza.
Military sources blame the Brigade commander for asking the
contingent to withdraw from Gwoza after they made contact with the
terrorists, adding that the hasty retreat emboldened Boko Haram
militants to chase and kill the soldiers during the unusual retreat.

. Gej is corrupt:When the President of a country justifies corruption
everywhere he goes and at anytime, so much that he could come on
national television to shamelessly declare that"stealing is not corruption",
then you should know that the country being ruled by such President is in
dire straits.
At a glance you'll see him doing the following:
1. Corruption and money laundering charges against Mohammed Abacha
have been dropped because of his defection to the PDP and is therefore
being prepared as the gubernatorial candidate of the party in Kano state
so that Kano may be eventually ruled by a rogue like the person imposing
him!
2. Ayo Fayose who was once impeached as governor of Ekiti state for
corruption and stealing, and is still facing charges of murder and stealing
was imposed by Jonathan as the PDP governorship candidate for the
election coming on Saturday, June 21, 2014 in Ekiti state! Same thing in
Osun state where Senator Iyiola Omisore who is largely suspected of being
behind the murder of Chief Bola Ige has been imposed as the PDP
governorship candidate for the state's election in August this year!
3. Petroleum Minister, Diezani Allison - Madueke who supervised the
disappearance of 20 billion dollars in 2013 is still sitting pretty as minister,
and she is being encouraged not to even appear at the National Assembly
for the probe of her spending billions of naira for her private jets. In fact, to
reward her for corruption Jonathan nominated her for the OPEC top job!
4. Charges of corruption and theft of public funds against former aviation
minister Femi Fani-Kayode are not being prosecuted seriously, which
means they could also be dropped in the light of his new job as"Lier - in -
Chief"for Jonathan's 2015 project!
5. What about Stella Oduah's famous earth shaking financial
embezzlement and certificate forgeries? Last time I checked, her
hometown honored her for making them proud while she was minister!
Don't laugh, please! Nigeria is sick! Thieves are the honourables, and
that's why they keep getting more and more powerful! I remember the
Bible talking about gold on the snout of a pig!
6. What about those who stole 2.6 trillion naira in 2011? No one is in jail
for a penny! Anyway, we all know that that money was used to buy the
presidential election held that year, and traditional rulers and religious
leaders became very wealthy from that perfidious cash. And can you see
why they have lost their voices on the rubbish going on?
7. Does anyone talk about the great rip off at the Nigeria Immigration
Service of which millions of job seekers were duped of their money, and 26
of them died in stampedes contrived by corruption? Oops! The minister is
still at his job and the so called jobs promised to surviving families of the
dead have been kept at a cooler somewhere, probably in Sambisa Forest!
Or have you heard anything about it again?
8. Should we even talk about the annual One Trillion naira security
budget? Wow! Don't even go there, please!
9. Did I almost forget the famous pensions funds rip off by one Rashid
Maina who was going about with security convoy like some state
governor? Some cool 300 billion naira (about 2 billion dollars) was carted
away by this guy. But how far? Nothing!
10. Keep counting!

Politics / Tools Gej Use To Divide Nigerians by babane442(m): 5:42am On Jul 08, 2014
THE TOOLS JONATHAN USES TO DIVIDE NIGERIANS!* For 5 weeks
Nigerians were united in protesting against the kidnap of the Chibok
school girls! *Suddenly the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) under
the leadership of the ever divisive and uninspiring Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor
releases a partial list of the abducted girls, saying"These are the Christian
girls kidnapped", which was a clear attempt to break the ranks of Nigerian
along ethno-religiouslines, but Nigerians and the world stood firm against
this conspiracy!* Curiously also, the following day Sunday, in his7th
Presidential Media Chat, President Jonathan played up the divisive card
by saying"The kidnapped girls are 80% Christians and 20%Muslims..."W
hat was he trying to achieve by that? Does it really matter the people of
whatever tribe or religion kidnapped or killed in this their"Boko
Haram"conspiracy? And as the nation's ruler, should he be profiling
victims of terror or any calamity by their tribe or religion? Which of them
have their blood colour different from red?The world already knows that
Muslim towns and villages have been completely wiped off under a
fraudulent State of Emergency! Remember Bama,Baga, Konduga, Beni-
Sheik, Gwoza, Buni-Yadi,Gamborun-Ngala and many others?
Ok,supposed 80% Christian girls and 20% Muslim girls were abducted
by"Boko Haram", was he instigating a"balancing of the equation"? Or was
he also insinuating that if 90% Muslim towns and villages under his State
of Emergency have been destroyed or even wiped off Muslims should also
go for a"balancing of the equation"? I have always maintained that corrupt
and dishonest rulers always suffer a sense of inferiority complex, and their
major trick for survival is the old strategy of"Divide and Rule", and in
pursuit of that they could even venture into state terrorism, for that's even
the definition of state terrorism by wikipedia.* And it gets more interesting
that the following day, Monday, their very own Imam Shekau released a
video in which he said that his group was going to kill Christians wherever
they find them, which was a clear case of an attempt towage
psychological warfare to further break the ranks of Nigerians and the
world that have stood firm together in the face of government's
carelessness and incompetence! * And it also gets sillier and messier that
two days after Shekau's video, and on the day"Boko Haram"wiped off a
great deal of a Muslim town(Gamborun-Ngala) killing more than 600
people at once, the northern branch of CAN came out with some very silly
questions attempting again to link the Borno State Governor, his
commissioner of Education and the Chibok school principal of conspiracy
in abducting the girls on grounds that most of the girls are Christians. But
shouldn't they have known that in a predominantly Christian town like
Chibok, there will be more Christians in the schools? Vise versa Muslim
towns? Again, you wonder why CAN had no voice when"Boko Haram"was
wiping off Muslim towns and villages, and I thought, as good Christians
and as the salt and light of the world, they should be at the forefront in
this battle instead of waging selective battles?Hey, when Christ said"Ye
are the light and salt of the world"He didn't say you should be the light
and salt of only your village or group; He said"WORLD"and world includes
everyone and every place in it. This is why it annoys me greatly when I
see supposed Christians indulging in useless and needless ethnic or
religious sentiments. They were asking six silly questions but they cleverly
avoided asking president Jonathan why he withdrew 75 soldiers out of
the95 guarding Chibok town a day before"BokoHaram"attacked the
school. In the amborun-Ngala massacre the soldiers in the town were also
ordered to leave for some"other assignment elsewhere", and one hour
after they left the murderers arrived in mass and spent twelve hours
bombing, burning and killing!TWELVE hours of operation in such a big
town and the noise of bombings, gunshots and smoke bellowing up the
sky could not as much as attract Air Force and military response! And
they keep lying that they are on regular air and ground patrol in
Jonathan's State of Emergency in north- eastern Nigeria! This is State of
Emergency as scripted by Jonathan, which must be deeply and vigorously
scrutinised by investigative journalists and thriller writers, more so any
serious government that will come after Jonathan's better be forgotten
government! CAN and Jonathan and other mischievous and divisive
persons like the ever loquacious and highly unprincipled Femi Fani-
Kayode could just be allout to break the protests that has even gone
beyond the shores of Nigeria by bringing in cheap sentiments, but it
cannot work just as it shouldn't have worked.
