UNCLAIMED ELECTROCUTED THIEF'S BODY

It happened on Friday, but was only discovered today.

In the morning, people passing and owners of shops around total filling station in Unguwan Rimi kept perceiving bad odour. It was like an attack, which soon became a strong smell to a stench so unbearable that no one could stay there.

While they were wondering what was the cause of this strong bad smell, somebody said he noticed a rag like shirt and trouser at the back.

Closer look showed that the ceiling may have been breached. The conclusion was that a rat or cat may have died up there.

A young man went in. He came down and was speechless from what he saw. He couldn't talk. He was only able to demonstrate what he saw. It was a dead body, a human body.

A young man broke into a cosmetic shop in front of the house and climbed up and crawled in between the roof and ceiling to gain access to a POS shop.

He may have came into contact with an open wire. He was electrocuted as he was crawling the ceiling and died. He actually removed his clothes and went in with boxers and singlet.

I was told that POS shops are now targets of these thieves, even though they do not leave money behind. It will be foolish to do so..

This young thief met his end on the ceiling of that shop. Nobody knows the boy or where he may have come from. His face had swollen beyond recognition after 3 days up there in the ceiling.

The people around were so angry they refused to perform ghusl mayyit and salatl janazah for the young man. All pleas went into deaf ears. They just went to the cemetery, dug a whole and dump him there.

If you know anyone in Unguwan Rimi, Unguwan Sarki, Malali, Hayin Dan Bushiya and Badarawa that may fit the character of this young man in your area and you have not seen him, know that the boy was buried without ghusl mayyit and salatl janazah.

He was buried like a piece of trash or garbage. Let the family of your area goon you have not seen know that a young man died in a ceiling, so that if it is their son they can pray for him. He is gone.

One person was shot dead while students and lecturers were abducted when kidnappers invaded Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic in Zaria, Kaduna State, on Thursday night.

The number of abducted students is yet to be ascertained but Daily Trust gathered that the abducted lecturers are Mr Habila Nasai from General Studies Department and Mr Adamu Shehu Shika from Accounting Department.

The student who was shot reportedly died on the way to the hospital.

Abdallah Shehu, Public Relations Officer of the school, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust but did not go into details.

This is the third major attack on a higher institution in Kaduna in three months.

On March 11, 2021, gunmen abducted students of Federal College of Forestry Mechanization, Afaka, Igabi LGA, in Kaduna.

On April 20, 2021, students of Greenfield University were kidnapped from the school campus in Chikun LGA, still in Kaduna.

The latest abduction ​happened hours after President Muhammadu Buhari vowed that non-state actors threatening the peace of the country will be crushed.

In an exclusive interview with ARISE TV, the president asked Nigerians to expect improvement in security.

Despite repeated assurances from government and security agencies, insecurity has been on the rise across the country.

Students abducted from the Salihu Tanko Islamic School in Tegina, Niger State, are still in captivity.

While two mothers lost their lives as a result of the incident, a three-year-old victim died in the hands of her captors.

The Students’ Union Government decided to set multiple plans which are in tandem with the best interest of the entire Students.

It is in the light of the above rationale, we the S.U.G started with peaceful approach to one and All.

We are appealing the Supremacy of his excellency Malam Nasir El-Rufai, on behalf of the entire Students of Nubapoly to reconsider the New Tuition Fee as we our parents are not wherewithal to pay for the new Tuition fee.

Once more, we are appealing to the entire New and Returning Students and their parents for the recent announced Tuition fee. As we are doing to the best of our knowledge, experience and capacity to see we struggle for your right.

I also want to use this medium to urge you all to pray for this situation as Prayers is the best petral solution to all problems.

Abdulsalam Adam, a resident, said the gunmen came on about 12 motorcycles.

“I have been told that three teachers and some pupils have been abducted but we are trying to ascertain the true situation. Right now, our vigilante boys and other volunteers have gone after the bandits,” he said.

“We are in the school right now, what we are trying to do is comb the bushes because some of the children ran into the bush. So, we don’t know how many were abducted at the moment.”

Mai Saje Rama, another resident, said: “There is a particular parent whose name is Halilu. He said he saw them carry his son on a motorcycle. Most of them decided to brave it by going after the bandits. We are in the school and we have sent for security agents but they have not arrived yet.”

Mohammadu Birnin Gwari, a resident of Birnin Gwari, said two of his brothers were among the teachers abducted.

He gave their names as Umar Hassan and Rabiu Salisu Takau.

However, the Councilor of Rama, Aliyu Isa, told Daily Trust that no pupil was abducted.

He said the bandits attacked a nearby village and abducted two persons and also stole cows.

Kaduna State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, did not respond to calls and a text message sent to his phone.

Daily Trust reports that this latest abduction happened 24 hours after security agents thwarted an attempted abduction of 307 students of Government Science Secondary School in Ikara Local Government Area of the state and another attack at the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) quarters in Igabi LGA of the state.

On Thursday night, bandits had invaded the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, in Igabi LGA and abducted 39 students comprising 23 females and 16 males.

Security agents had earlier rescued 180 of the students but the gunmen who made away with 39 students are now demanding for a ransom of N500 million.

About nineteen persons have been reportedly kidnapped by gunmen in Ogu and Tegina communities in Rafi local government area of Niger State.

Ogu is a settlement close to Wayam about two kilometres away from Kagara, headquarters of Rafi local government.

A source from Rafi Local Government who did not want his identity revealed confirmed the incident on Monday.

He however could not give many details on the attacks and had to place telephone call to a resident in the affected community for more information.

A source identified as Kamal Mamman Wayam from Ogu community, said the gunmen stormed Ogu on Sunday morning and started shooting into the air.

According to Wayam, “The gunmen in their large numbers arrived Ogu on motorcycles. Before we knew what was happening, they started shooting into the air.

“They ransacked peoples’ houses, and whatever valuable they could lay their hands on, they carted away. They also abducted six persons from Ogu. Four of the persons abducted were members of one day, while the other two were visitors to the community.”

The attack on Tegina was said to have happened at about 12:30 midnight of Monday.

A resident of the community, Sani Gamachindo whose phone conversation with our source was recorded said thirteen persons were abducted.

“The gunmen entered the room of my daughter that night. But, she hid herself under the bed, while her husband went up the ceiling. When the gunmen entered their room, they spent like thirty minutes and ate almost all the food in the kitchen. Thank God, they were not abducted. But, thirteen persons were kidnapped,” Gamachindo explained.

The latest attacks in Rafi local government came barely four days after gunmen abducted a youth leader of the All Progressives Congress, the District Head of Gunna and two children of two health workers in Garin Gabbas and Yakila communities in the same local government.

Last week Friday, the bandits had also blocked the major road between Zungeru and Tegina for hours, shooting sporadically and causing gridlock.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer to the Niger State Police Command, ASP Wasiu Abiodun said he would get back to our reporter on the matter, but was yet to do so as at the time of filing the report.

Meanwhile, a Pastor with the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, has been killed by gunmen in Chukuba, Shiroro local government area of the state.

The clergyman identified as Pastor Jeremiah Ibrahim, was serving with ECWA Gospel Kubwa, Kuta in Shiroro local government.

According to a senior official of ECWA Goodnews Church Minna who pleaded anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on the matter, said Pastor Ibrahim had gone to check his farm in Chukuba and decided to visit a colleague who was the Resident Pastor of Chukuba when he was attacked and killed.

“It’s quite unfortunate, because the assassination of Pastor Jeremiah Ibrahim is coming barely two weeks after six of our missionaries alongside wife to one of them were abducted,” he added.

He said, the deceased had been buried.
