The baby of hip-hop musician, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, which he had with his baby mama, Sophia Momodu, is still with the Adeleke family. A member of the Momodu family told SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday that the Adelekes threatened that only the court could take the baby away from them. The family member who spoke on condition of anonymity said, ''We have been told that only the court can take the baby away from them. But we also want to know if they took the baby away from the mother through the court. The baby's mother is heartbroken and cries everyday over the matter.'' In a related development, indications emerged on Saturday that the families of Momodu and Adeleke will meet with officials of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons this week over the petition sent by the Momodus to the agency on December 30, 2015. The agency had last week invited the parties concerned in the matter. Sophia had in a petition by her lawyer, alleged that her daughter, Imade, was being held away from her by the Adelekes with an attempt to take her abroad without her consent. SUNDAY PUNCH gathered from sources close to the two families that the parties concerned were ready to honour the invitation. One of the sources who spoke with SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday said, ''I can confirm to you that the two families are meeting with the agency this week. I cannot say the exact day of the week because the agency gave an option for them to choose a particular day the two families can agree on. They are to come and explain what transpired before it got to the level of attempted abduction.'' Sophie Momodu's lawyer, Mr. Gbolaga Ajayi, had in the petition to NAPTIP urged the agency to intervene in the matter. The petition read in part: "Our client, a 27-year- old, is the biological mother of a baby girl with name, Aurora Imade Adeleke, who was born on the 14th day of May 2015. The baby's father is Mr. David Adedeji Adeleke (aka Davido). The father and mother are unmarried. "On the 11th July, 2015, our client was tricked into visiting the house of Mr. David Adeleke's half sister – Miss Ashley Coco Adeleke ─ with her baby, Imade Aurora Adeleke. After getting to the house on Baderinwa Alabi Street, Lekki Phase I, Lagos, our client's baby was forcefully taken from her and she was thrown out of the premises with the threat that she would be decisively dealt with if she ever bothered to return there. "There were armed policemen on the premises and our client's survival instinct made her leave her breast-suckling baby behind, with so much pain in her heart. "When Mrs. Modupe Mofikoya, the immigration officer who attended to the Adeleke travelling party accosted Ashley Adeleke and asked for the mother of the baby, she claimed that she was the mother. Immediately, the immigration officer on duty collected her Nigerian passport, she quickly absconded from the scene with the baby. Her father, Mr. Deji Adeleke, showed up shortly afterwards to clear his daughter's mess. "Our client, with the help of her family members, including Mr. Dele Momodu, determinedly resisted the attempt by Miss Ashley Adeleke and her father from taking away Imade Adeleke from Lagos. Our client believes that the pair are trying to take the child to America and thus put her out of the reach of the biological mother. "At the moment, Miss Ashley Adeleke and our client's daughter, Imade, are still in Lagos and their respective passports are in the custody of the airport immigration services.'' People just need to find the right thing to do to make money and/or live a comfortable life and remove their hands from bad things, because the end is always terrible. Sources say this guy is a yahoo boy who's living large from other people's sweat. Unfortunately for him, he reportedly ran mad today in Lagos Island. Below is how the story is reported: The young man (name withheld) according to witness just packed his Range Rover SUV, jumped out and started tearing his clothes. In no time, he was totally undressed. Then he started moving around the mainroad of Lagos Island snapping himself with his iPhone and a cardboard held in his hand. No one could explain what befell him but it's obviously not something natural. Some persons around identified him as one of the yahoo boys. The West African Examinations Council, WAEC has on Friday in Lagos released the statistics of candidates who passed English Language and Mathematics in theNovember/December 2015 WASSCE results. In a released made available to Vanguard through email, its Public Relations Officer, Mr Demian Ojijeogu said:” A total of 67,713 candidates, representing 29.33 per centobtained credits in five subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.” The statistics therefore implied that above 70 per cent who sat the WASSCE did not obtained five credits including English and Mathematics. Meanwhile, in November/December 2014 WASSCE, 246,853 candidates who sat for the exams, only 72,522 candidates, representing 29.37 per cent, obtained credits in five subjects, including Mathematics and English Language. This connotes that there is a decline in performance from that of 2014. Recalled on Thursday, during a press briefing in Lagos The Head National Office, Mr Olutise Isaac Adenipekun had concealed the statistical data of candidates who scored five credits in English Language and Mathematics, starting that it was not necessary. He, however said: Of the 237,154 candidates sat the examination, 79,490 candidates, representing 33.51% obtained 6 credits and above.” www.adeatom..com/2015/12/7067-fail-english-maths-in-novdec-wassce.html?m=1 lalasticlala seun ishilove introvert |

No plan to increase petrol price –FG …Approves 21 off-takers for crude deal The Federal Government has denied that it plans to increase the pump price of petrol from N87 per litre to N97 by January 2016. The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, advised Nigerians to dispel such insinuations. Kachikwu stated this during a media parley at the NNPC Towers, Abuja, that the discourse has long left the realm of subsidy removal to a more scientific price modulation approach, which entails an elastic price mechanism regime to be reviewed periodically to reflect the prevailing international price of crude. He explained that when operational, the novel price modulation system would place a N97 per litre cap on the price of fuel to ensure that Nigerians are insulated from the vagaries of the global crude price. “I did not say that refined petroleum products will sell for N97 per litre next year. I said that between a band of N87 and N97, we are going to be looking at prices and today the prices are largely close to N87. So, there is no need to change the price,’’he said. The Minister noted that to determine the price of petroleum products in future, the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Authority (PPPRA), will undertake quarterly review of the crude market situation. “I have not put a static figure. PPPRA will have to do the calculation to be able to announce what price PMS will sell for in January, but we do not anticipate any major shift because of the price of crude today,’’ he noted. Meanwhile, NNPC has announced 21 off-takers as winners of the open bid exercise conducted in October. The exercise witnessed the unprecedented public harvesting of 278 bids submitted by indigenous and foreign firms seeking to secure contract for the sale and purchase of the 26 Nigerian crude oil grades on offer. A breakdown of the 2015/2016 crude oil term contract off-takers for the 991,661 bpd Nigerian equity crude indicate that 240,000 bpd representing 24 per cent of the total volume on offer is awarded to four refiners classified as major current receivers of Nigerian crude with capacity to process all of Nigerian crude grades. The off-takers in this category include Emirates National Oil Coy (ENOC), Indian Oil Corporation, CEPSA Refinery, Madrid, and Sara SPA Refinery. Each of the off-takers in this category was awarded 60,000 bpd. Three notable international trading companies, namely Trafigura PT Ltd, Mercuria Energy Trading SA and Vitol SA won the bid for the lifting of 32,000 bpd of crude based on their pedigree as large scale buyers of Nigerian crude with structure for short term freight intervention and storage. The off-takers in this category represent about 10 per cent of total crude volume on offer. Trading affiliates of international oil companies consisting of ENI Trading and Shipping SPA, TOTSA Total Oil Trading SA, Exxon Sale and Supply LLC and Shell Western Supply and Trading received term allocation of 32,000 bpd each totaling 128,000 bpd representing about 13 per cent of total volume of crude oil on offer. Nigerian downstream players with wide experience in crude trading and large asset base accounts for 405, 000 bpd representing about 41 percent of total crude volume on offer. In this category, Emo Oil & Petrochemical Coy/China Zhenhea- an NNPC long term trader is allocated 45, 000 bpd. Other off-takers in this category include: Northwest Petroleum and Gas Ltd, 45, 000 bpd, Forte Oil, 45, 000 bpd, Oando PLC, 60, 000 bpd, Sahara Energy Resource Ltd, 60, 000 bpd, A.A. Rano Nig. Ltd, 45, 000 bpd, Eterna Oil, 45, 000 bpd and MRS Oil &Gas Coy Ltd 60, 000 bpd. NNPC Trading Companies Calson/Hyson 32, 000 bpd and Duke Oil Incorporated 90, 000 bpd account for combined off-take of 122, 000 bpd representing about 12 percent of total volume on offer. Apart from ensuring transparency, the companies, according to NNPC were carefully chosen based on their track records and trading experience to ensure that Nigerian crude cargoes are not left unsold. www.adeatom..com/2015/12/no-plan-to-increase-petrol-price-fg.html?m=1 lalasticlala seun ishilove |
