ycat: I'm even surprised that Lagos is still standing after holding 75% of ibos population and 30% Nigeria's in addition to the indigenous people, Yoruba. The fair thing to do is to cut 75% of allocations of the southeast and give it to Lagos, because Lagos is the nanny state for the ibos and it's not fair for them to get allocations and are still destitute in Yorubaland. Infact the entire Yoruba region is the nanny region. Lol,nanny region for your imagination. Una never open eye |

The Lekki free trade zone that was created by Tinubu, likely have more industries than each state in the south east. The Atlantic ocean that was spilling into VI for years, who stopped the mess by creating Eko Atlantic City? Tinubu and the APC is doing a good job in Lagos, more still needs to be done sha. Lagos means different things to different people. You can say it's the most developed, richest and home to the most intelligent Nigerians. Yes, you are right.
You can also call it home to the poorest, most chaotic and most overrated place in the country. Yes, you are also right. So, the governor made his choice and he is in his right.
Lastly, only government doesn't develop anywhere because development is a collective responsibility...government, groups, organisations and individuals. there are basic development milestones for a government to fulfil.lagos government is not a good example |

Listening to the gov of akwa ibom umo eno talking about his admiration of TINUBU and how his reforms transformed Lagos state.
Truth is most of these folks don't know LAGOS, they come in to Lagos and only see the high end parts of lekki,vi,ikoyi, mayb Ikeja and believe they've seen it all.
This makes them credit the so called TINUBU reforms.
Truth is the real Lagos is a huge mess.
Go anywhere apart from those places you'll be greeted with huge disappointment.
Private development actually made almost any other place livable in LAGOS ,otherwise, there's gross underdevelopment in LAGOS.
The so called TINUBU reforms are only benefit to the elite few.
Any governor or politician that admires and follows tinubus doctrine, just know that such governors are either pro- elite, anti masses governors or don't know the hell what they are doing or talking about.
Tinubus reforms never worked and his not working for the greater good of the people. |

Why is it that Nigerian elites can not live without one appointment or patronage of the Nigerian state.
They will do anything to live off the state resources, yet people will continue telling poor people that government can't feed them.
People accuse the masses of wanting free things from the government but these same elites never miss the chance to enjoy free things from the government.
They will tell poor people to go hustle n fend for themselves but these elites never fend for themselves ,majority of them depend on the government in one from or the other some from even childhood.
People like buhari have survived on government money from teenage age.
Mele kyari as worked for nnpc all his life, yet can't deliver shit. Akpabio from governor,to minister,to senator yet no deliverables.so many of them. Anime dabiri from nta to house of reps to nidcom etc ,why can't they leave the government pot.
bianca can't resist not to go back to government feeding bottle.
they are so many, majority of the elites in nigeria have been on government sustenance, even many business elites, why can't they leave the government feeding bottle?
many people even on this platform will tell the masses to stop complaining that government will not put food on their table.
But government always put food on the table of the elites. |

It is all clear to any previous skeptic that BUHARI was a catastrophy.
Buharis emergence as Nigerias President in 2015 was the biggest mistake Nigeria made which leads to the second biggest mistake a tinubu presidency.( the Yoruba and hausafulani were the single agent of this mistakes).
Can you explain how buhari got away with the savage murder of innocent lives in the Middlebelt ( Benue, southern Kaduna and plateau). Soon as he left the death rate in those areas have drastically reduced therefore indicating that the constant cold blood murders of innocent villagers were deliberate.
Buhari claimed to have discovered oil in gombe and pumped billions into the claim of drilling oil in gombe but it was all a satanic lie.
Billions pumped into humanitarian assistance all down the drain, anchor borrowers down the drain.excessive borrowing, giving Nigerias money to Niger and guinea Bissau. Excessive borrowings.
Buhari deliberately obliterated Nigerias economy, closing the borders and forcing price increases.
Yet,after all these he went out peacefully ,living Nigeria in a ditch. What a wicked man, what a wicked system.
A cursed generation of old fools. Africa's older generation are cursed.
The recompense of their wicked acts will be upon their bloodline. |

EponObi: What export? What's Nigeria producing?
To get the enough you wrote in capital letters, Nigeria needs to boost production across many sectors first. Leading us again to increment of revenue generation. Exports of crude oil ,minerals, agricultural products, with proper management and structures, these 3 things can generate enough revenue for NIGERIA. But the controller's of Nigeria refuse to properly manage these sectors leading to losses and eventual need for private firms to take over |
Politics › Re: Government Doesn't Need To Generate Profit But Manage Properly by babasolution(op): 8:41am On Oct 30, 2024 |
EponObi: Nope. For the sole reason that the population rate is not stagnant.
You self, shey you go born pikin, abi your pikins too no go born their own?
Increasing demand mean socio and economic development mustn't stand still.
Government need to generate more. Even more than they need presently and manage it adequately too.
You wrote: "What Nigeria needs is proper solid systemic management of these establishments."
You were talking about increasing revenue generation. Proper management encompasses all sectors including birthrate,if adequate data is gotten about the birth rate, resources can be deployed adequately with proper management increasing demand can be met, revenue gotten from exports and taxes will be ENOUGH |
Politics › Government Doesn't Need To Generate Profit But Manage Properly by babasolution(op): 8:20am On Oct 30, 2024*. Modified: 12:37pm On Oct 30, 2024 |
I think it's wrong the way Nigerians always insist that government institutions needs to generate profit.
I think that policy and orientation is wrong, government institutions don't need to generate profit, what government establishments like electricity ,roads, public water, housing companies etc only need is to maintain positive cash flow and proper management.
People for example say NIGERIANS are not paying enough for electricity for the companies to generate profit and invest in the sector, Or people are not paying tolls for newly built roads or paying enough for education.
What Nigeria needs is proper solid systemic management of these establishments. The funds they already have can run these establishments if properly run.
The corrupt Political system and its improper managers are forcing the government to privatise, this forces the constant need of foreign investors ,leading to profit seeking establishment that are making basic needs out of reach of the masses.Take for instance government refineries ran down by improper and corrupt management, now Nigeria as to depend on a private refinery which would seek profits above anything else.
Same with NEPA, Nigeria has to contract foreign infrastructure firms to build roads when government could have been building roads easily at less cost while employing a lot more people. Also the case of Nigerian airways, lots n lots of examples. Government inability to manage anything and wanton corruption is forcing excessive privatisation which is making basic social services out of reach for the common man.The government can't even build houses. Privates real estaste firms are in charge extorting the populace.
Nigerians cannot cope in an ultra capitalist country. It might be good in the long run if it succeeds( the thinking of the tinubus administration) but if it dares fail it's gonna be catastrophic. Tinubu is taking a big gamble here.
There are numerous leakages of government funds.Imagine what the Chinese are doing ,carting any minerals for dirt cheap without taxes.
Nigeria needs to go after the corrupt Political system and these drive for privatisation and profit seeking especially for basic social services and energy. |
