A 14 year-old girl, in Ikorodu area of Lagos, has narrated how she was forced at knife point by a man simply identified as Dolapo in a house at Fajemisi Kokoro Abu Street in Sabo, Ikorodu area of Lagos.

“I was coming from where I bought rice for my boss when the incident happened, I was heading back to the Saloon when Dolapo called me to come but I did not answer him because I don’t know him. He then crossed my path by a house that is at a corner on Fajemisi Kokoro Abu Street in Sabo, Ikorodu and pushed me. He lifted up his yellow top, brought out knife and tied my mouth with cloth. He pushed me on the floor, dragged me to a room and said if I move, he will kill me and run away.

“He dragged me to the bed, removed my cloths, slept with me and afterwards I got dis-virgin. He removed his yellow top and used it to clean my blood; he opened the door and ran out with the cloth. I went out of the room and shouted, people came around, and some chased after him but did not find him. A woman took me to my boss shop; I was given some drug and shewbs. My mother later joined us and we went to report the incident at Igbogbo police station, then later went to the hospital.”

She noted that since the incident, she has not being fine. She said she wants proper care and wants her good health to be restored, adding that she also wants Dolapo to be arrested and face the full wrath of the law.

Alenin Joseph, an Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma graduate was stabbed to death by phone snatchers on his way home after arriving Warri from Calabar, where he underwent the mandatory one year national youth service.

Joseph passed out of NYSC on July 25th in Calabar, the Cross River State capital and took to Facebook to celebrate the occassion.

Three weeks after Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo stepped down as Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) over allegations of rape brought against him by Busola Dakolo, a board member of the Ministry has resigned.

In a letter addressed to Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo dated July 19th, Obafemi Banigbe said he was no longer interested in being a member of the COZA Board of Trustees, thus he tendered his resignation “with immediate effect and for personal reasons.”

Pastor Banigbe is the first member of the church’s board to tender a public resignation from the ministry, after Pastor Fatoyinbo stepped down on a leave of absence amidst immense pressure mounted on him by Nigerians.

Medical doctors stationed at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos were thrown into confusion after a man traveling out of the country suddenly collapsed.

It happened at the Turkish boarding gate, Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on July 23rd. The video shows the medical doctors running helter skelter to revive the collapsed man with old medical techniques.

Five persons died in an accident at Tyowaye along Ugbema road, Benue State on Monday, July 22.

The accident occurred when the vehicle plunged into a river after the driver reportedly lost control due to a mechanical fault.

A Nigerian student has died after drowning in the Thames during the heatwave, on Tuesday, in the U.K.

Illustration student of the Camberwell College of Arts, Jonathan Adebanjo, 23, vanished while swimming with friends at Shadwell Basin.

He was one of three people who drowned in three hours. As temperatures soar during the heatwave, the fire brigade have put out an urgent warning against open water swimming.

Two suspected child traffickers, were apprehended by operatives of the Ebonyi State Neighbourhood Watch after a stalled abduction mission.

The suspects identified as Sunday Chukwuma from Isu community in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, and Nkiruka Okpara, an indigene of the Ahiazu Mbaise community of Imo State, colluded to steal a one-year-old baby from the mother, one Chioma Njoku of Agbebo village.

The plan of stealing the baby while acting like they were helping the single mother, was hatched in Port Harcourt and reportedly facilitated by Chukwuma. The arrest was confirmed by the Chairman of the Onicha Local Government Area of, Ebonyi State, Felix Igboke, who commended the vigilante group.
