A lady has allegedly been beaten to death by her husband in Lagos, years after she told a friend that domestic violence was a form of trial and she had conquered it. .

According to reports, 31-year-old Deborah Ukamaka Johnson, who was undergoing her NYSC, was beaten to death by her husband, Godspower Johnson.

The duo got married in December of 2014 while she was still in school, against the wish of her parents and siblings. .

The marriage allegedly became abusive almost immediately and she was forced to withdraw from Optometry at 500 Level, because her grades dropped drastically.

She eventually started all over again in Microbiology and graduated in 2018. According to her sister, Adogah, she once had to go to drag her from her matrimonial home after neighbors got worried by the level of abuse.

However, on the 21st of March, 2019, she was beaten till she couldn’t move her limbs again simply because she turned down his request for sex. .

She was later rushed to LASUTH, where she was stabilized and then transfered to the National Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi, where it was discovered that she had a broken spine and multiple fractures on her neck. .

Deborah gave up the ghost some days later and the husband has since been charged to court for murder and is being remanded in prison.

Earlier Today The National Broadcasting Commission suspended the operating license of DAAR Communications PLC .

The NBC boss says the decision was taken because of the company’s persistent violations of the NBC’s broadcasting Code, despite several warnings from the commission

Obinna Ogba, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator from Ebonyi, says Senate President Bukola Saraki is just like Sani Abacha.

Abacha is the military dictator who ruled Nigeria between 1993 and 1998. His government was poorly rated in so many areas but Ogba said the retired army general was a good man.

He said under Abacha, the rate of insecurity was not as high as it is now, saying the dictator did not approve of some of the terrible things done under his watch.

“I will liken Saraki leadership to that of Abacha. He is just like Abacha. I am one of those who believe that many people can say what they like but Sani Abacha is a president that we have never seen. You may like him, you may not like him,” he said.

“Abacha is a very good man, no matter what they are saying about him. People who are condemning him today are doing worse things. During Abacha time, we didn’t have security problems like this. The man did and so many good things.

“Wherever the man is, God will continue to bless him. He is the one that gave us Ebonyi state. God will continue to bless him and you too (Saraki).”

The legislator berated those lawmakers who did not see anything good in other zones.

“In this chamber you find the good, the bad and the ugly but Nigeria is represented here,” he said.

“What I noticed in this 8th assembly is that there are people who do not see anything good except in their zones. We are not supposed to belong to any political party, zones or religion here.

“The earlier we changed that attitude, it will be better for this country. Mr President I want to thank the leadership of the senate.”

It was a very bloody afternoon when I was about going out to hangout with a friend at Domino's Pizza. Suddenly I got to the bustop when I noticed to young girls who greeted me and I responded. I was even still saying look at how they look good celebrating Ramadan today. They were about to cross the road when a bike man with full speed hit them.
