A lady just learning how to drive, had fled after knocking down a commercial motorcycle and killing a passenger while driving alone in Lagos.

The incident happened, this afternoon, at Nepa Junction, Satellite Town. It was gathered that the lady had initially knocked down two other road users before the tragedy.

PDP Zombies

Court of Appeal has set aside the judgment that nullified Peter Nwaoboshi as the senator-elect representing Delta-north senatorial district of Delta state.

Ned Nwoko had filed a suit challenging the election of Peter Nwaoboshi as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, in the 2nd October primaries of the party held in Delta.

The court had held that Mr Nwaoboshi, a serving senator, was not the duly elected candidate of the PDP in the primary election.

The judge had subsequently ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to publish the name of Mr Nwoko as PDP candidate, having established before the court that he scored the highest number of votes in the said primary election.

But delivering Judgment, Justice Mohammad Idris held that the trial court lacked the jurisdiction to first entertain the matter and the matter was filed outside the mandatory 14 days as for pre-election matter, hence the matter at the trial court was statue barred, and judgment delivered on 3rd April 2019 set aside.

Few hours after his inauguration, Governor Seyi Makinde has sacked all the local government and local council development chairmen in the state.

The Chief of Staff to the governor, Bisi Ilaka, made this known in a statement in Ibadan on Wednesday evening.

The governor directed all local government chairpersons to hand over to their Heads of Local Government Administration (HLA) or the most senior directors in their local government areas and councils.

All boards of parastatals and corporations were also dissolved.

Mr Makinde further placed embargo on all local and state government accounts until further directives.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), Sokoto zonal office, on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, arrested one suspected politician with N60, 000, 000 (Sixty Million Naira) cash, following intelligent report of his suspicious money laundering activities.

The suspect Murtala Muhammad who is alleged to be a brother to Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Professor Abdullahi Shinkafi, was arrested at No.145 Igala Housing Estate, off Byepass Road, Gusau, Zamfara State by the operatives of the Commission.

Items recovered from him at the point of arrest include one Black Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Jeep with registration number DKA 67 PX Kaduna loaded with 4 bags of 'Ghana Must Go' containing one thousand Naira notes of fifteen million Naira each, totaling to sixty million Naira.

One single barrel gun, one locally made revolver pistol, 25 rounds of cartridges and 12 rounds of 12.9mm live ammunition.
