2mch: I am from Lagos. Now when are you going to hang. Omo aromisa legbe legbe. You wouldnt know what that means. Now, are you from Imo? Stayout of Imo peoples business and stop whipping up bigotted sentiments. You dont wish them well, you want to drag them back into stone age like Abia you home state.Nobody in Lagos is an aborigene. It's either your father is from Oyo, Ijaw, Bini or Igbo or your Grandfather migrated to Lagos. This is gospel truth. From the amalgamation of South and Northern protectorate, lagos has always be on its own. Check from Clifford Constitution till Macpherson constitutional conference o 1954, every ethnic group has always be involved in the affair of lagos. Among-st the 4 people that were elected in 1922 for lagos legislative Council One was Igbo, while the other a settled Slave and 2 Yoruba. We know the history. Lagos has never been part of Western Region. |

Billyonaire: This is a miscarriage of political destiny, an abortion of a political preggies and a dilapidation of trust of a people on a drama king, a man who nicknamed donations from Red Cross Society as personal philanthropy to brainwash the populace into appending their signatures in support of a purported egalitarian leadership which is not to be. APC has no root in the Jerusalem of Africa, Imo people have spoken. Let the outcast make a solo journey into the Assemblage of Pyrates and IslamistsNWANNE THIS IS IT ![]()

Following the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the emergence of All Progressive Congress, APC, Tolagbe Animashaun, a PDP senatorial aspirant in Lagos Central District, in this interview, explains how the PDP can resolve issues facing it. Excerpts: Five northern governors burying the PDP? They can threaten hell and brimstone. What we need to do is to sit down at the round table and settle issues like adults, because PDP is a very big party that will outlive other parties; what is happening is expected of a party that is as massive as the PDP. If you remember, during the 2011 general elections, there were issues that sounded as if they were not going to be solved but they were ironed out. I am positive that the PDP is going to survive the tumult that is going on now because there have been re-conciliatory moves by all forces involved; that is the major reason the party is going to surmount the challenges. Do you envisage the PDP making any head way in 2015? There is absolutely no party like the PDP in Nigeria, one million parties can merge and endorsed by the court, but what you put into consideration first is the caliber of those coming together, you will realize that they are people bent on manipulation and dribbling of the masses. Tolagbe Animashaun Tolagbe Animashaun I have a very high regard for the former head of state, Gen. Buhari, but, eventually, he will realize that he is dealing with deceitful people. If you also remember, in 2011, they deceived and used former chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, who was their presidential candidate, and dumped him. We are going to put our house in order and I am sure we are having this storm in order to have a calm. Is PDP democratic enough in selecting its key officers? I am yet to see any political party that is as transparent as the PDP in Nigeria. Recently, we were supposed to have our convention for the purpose of electing our national officers but the court restrained us and we obeyed. So, which other way can we be more democratic as compared to other political parties that just appoint families and friends. How soon will PDP put their house together ? Reconciliation is in process. A committee has been set up to look into the matter. The committee is headed by the Governor of Bayelsa State Seriake Dickson. I am sure all the parties involved in this crisis will come to the table to talk including the governors that are threatening to bury the PDP. You must realize that people talk when their horses are goaded, and it is better to be together than to be apart Plans to impeaching Gov. Rotimi Amaechi? This party has made many people and I don’t see anybody biting the finger that feeds him, but that does not mean that nobody is hindered not to have aspirations, you can aspire to be the president or whatever you want to be but you ought to respect the authority of the president of the nation and also the authority of the party. As far as I am concerned, there is some level of indiscipline on the part of the governor of Rivers State towards the authorities. Whatever grudges you may have can be sorted out within and not on the pages of newspapers. In all sincerity, he is a Nigerian and he has every right to nurse an ambition, but he has to put his ambition in check. Chances of PDP winning any seat in South-west come 2015? Currently the present administration has not been fair to us in the South-west and we have made representation to the government. Lagos also does not have a representative in the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and it is seriously affecting the fortunes of the party in the state because we don’t have a minister that will speak on our behalf in Abuja. The President is aware of this and we have shouted on the roof top that he is not being fair to us in the South-west. It may interest you to know that Lagosians are fed-up with multiple taxation in Lagos, bad roads and motor cycles being seized. If the party can give us our own minister, we have a good chance of winning Lagos for PDP in 2015. Also we believe that we were robbed in the last local government elections by the Action Congress of Nigeria, especially in Eredo local government area of Badagry; Ikoyi – Obalende, Agbado – Okeodo where we won the Chairmanship election and the courts gave the mandates to the ACN. So, all we need is to have the backing of our formidable party in 2015. For instance, the vote Mr. President garnered during last presidential election was as a result of the efforts of what the PDP did in Lagos. I believe we can do the same again if he recognizes that he needs our support to emerge in 2015. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/08/buhari-is-dealing-with-people-who-deceived-ribadu/#sthash.GJpr7Oyn.dpuf http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/08/buhari-is-dealing-with-people-who-deceived-ribadu/ |

http://www.hopefornigeriaonline.com/ By Tobi Soniyi The Federal Government has initiated extraction proceedings against a Nigerian, Lawal Olaniyi Babafemi, suspected to be member of the terrorist organisation, al-Qaeda. It emerged also Friday that barring the impatience of operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS), the owner of House 3, Gaya Road, in Kano, where an arms and ammunition cache were recovered recently, Abdul-Hassan Thahil, may have been arrested. The federal government applied to a Federal High Court in Abuja for the extradition of Babafemi, 32, also described as “Abdullah” and “Ayatollah Mustapher” to the United States, where he is wanted for his alleged involvement in terrorism-related activities. In an application for extradition filed before the court, counsel to the government exhibited a four-count charge marked:13CR-109-JG, filed against him before the United States District Court of the Eastern District of New York and a bench warrant issued for his arrest by a US magistrate. He is charged with “conspiracy to provide support to a foreign terrorist organisation, provision and attempted provision of material support to a foreign terrorist organisation, unlawful use of firearms and conspiracy to unlawfully use firearms.” The offences, on conviction, attract a minimum sentence of 10 years and maximum of life imprisonment. Babafemi, who was based in the US, fled to Nigeria when he suspected that he was to be arrested by men of the United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). But he was arrested in Nigerian and is being held by the Department of State Services (DSS). Documents filed by the federal government before the Abuja court revealed that the US authorities are of the view that Babafemi belongs to the “al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP),” an affiliate of al-Qaeda. He allegedly travelled to Yemen between January 2010 and August 2011 to train with the group and relate with its senior members including the now deceased Anwar al-Aulaqi and Samir Khan. Babafemi was said to have admitted, upon interrogation that he was paid about $8,600 by the AQAP to return to Nigeria and recruit some English-speaking individuals to work in AQAP’s English language media organisation. The media organisation is believed to serve as the organisation’s medium of radicalising English speakers, who it recruits to commit terrorist attacks on its behalf. The group had claimed responsibility for series of terrorist activities, including the December 25, 2009 bombing attempt in the US by a Nigerian, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. The extradition application could not be heard when he was taken to court yesterday because it was served late on Babafemi’s lawyer, S. O. Yahaya. State’s lawyer and head of the Federal Ministry of Justice’s Central Authority Unit, Muslim Hassan, who said court processes were served on Babafemi a day before his appearance in court, however agreed to Yahaya’s request for more time to file his counter processes. Justice Ahmed Mohammed has fixed hearing of the extradition application for August 28. Roda, while testifying Friday as the first defence witness, told the court that he had advised the SSS operatives who arrested him to play it cool and be patient as the owner of the house – 3 Gaya Road – was away, but would be back in two weeks. Thahil is currently declared as being “at large” in the charge filed against three of his alleged accomplices, now standing trial before the Federal High Court, Abuja for terrorism related offences. The three – Mustapha Fawaz (49), Abdallah Thahini (48) and Talal Ahmad Roda (51) -all Lebanes – are charged with their companies – Amigo Supermarket and Wonderland Amusement Park Resort. Roda, who claimed he had lived in the house as a squatter for 10 years, told the court that had the security operatives heeded his advice the owner of the house, Thahil, would have been arrested. Roda, who was arrested in the house by SSS operatives in May this year, was led in evidence by defence lawyer, Ahmed Raji, SAN. He said: “I told DSS6 (an operative of the Department of State Services) that this matter should be kept silent, because of national security. So that he can investigate very well. “I told him that the owner of the house is coming. And that he should not inform the media. “I told Mr. Osagie (an official of the DSS and a lawyer involved in the prosecution) that they will not see Mr. Abdul-Hassan anymore the moment they took us before the media and blew the whole thing open,” Roda said. He told the court this piece of information was included in a statement he made to his interrogators, but which was not tendered in court. Roda, who said he was born in the country and had been around for about 30 years, admitted being aware some arms and ammunition were kept in the Kano house. He said the owner of the house told him he had licence to import arms and ammunition. He however said the arms exhibited and tendered in court were not the same he had seen in the house. Roda told the court that the owner of the house once told him of a plot to attack the Saudi Arabian embassy in Nigeria. He said he was also told the plot was not successful. The witness said he once assisted in the movement of the arms from where they were earlier kept on Sultan Road, Kano to 3 Gaya Road, where they were discovered by security agents. He said although he assisted in the relocation and the purchase of coolers in which they were later stored, he was oblivious of what the items were because they were held in wooden containers. Roda said he only knew about some Ak-47 guns and land mines. Under cross examination, Roda said he could not inform security agencies about the arms because he was told by the house owner that he (house owner) had licence that covered the arms. He also said he failed to report to security agents because he was not allowed to do so and that he was afraid for his life. “I am not allowed to mention anything to anybody. The reason why I did not report to the police or other security agencies was also because I was told they have license and that I should not tell anyone,” he said. Roda said the fear about the possible repercussion partly informed why he left the country in 2008 but returned in 2010. At the conclusion of his evidence, and upon an application by Raji, the court ordered that the three accused persons be moved from their current detention place at the DSS custody to Kuje prison, Abuja. Raji hinged his application on the ground that his clients have alleged that they were no longer comfortable in the custody of the DSS. Raji told the trial judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola that his clients had made the request based on the fact that they were afraid to stay in the DSS custody to give evidence in defence of their case. He said:“The 1st and 2nd accused persons are afraid to stay in the DSS custody anymore. They should be transferred to a neutral place so that they can come to court with a free mind and express themselves in the evidence they shall give before this court.” Further hearing has been fixed for Monday. |

payless: This is what they use the money meant for the development of South-east and the betterment of the Igbo people. It is sad that Governors from South-east are busy buying Mansions in USA, England, Dubai and western nations while their fellow South-easterners keep leaving their states for Lagos to search for greener pasture. The Governors have no development to show for the trillions of Naira given to them since 1999. It is a real problem when you have 70% of young people from the East between the ages of 16 and 35 live far away from their state of origins.okponu,OUK was already a billionaire before PDP smell power you cant even see the year and date the mansion was commission agbaya.. |
