The Federal Government has rescheduled the annual Abuja carnival to hold from 23rd to 25th of November 2019.

This was made known by the Ministry of Information Permanent Secretary, Grace Gekpe, saying the postponement was to enable the ministry plan adequately for a robust event.

Gekpe expressed regret at the inconvenience caused by the postponement but assured the public of a robust carnival.Like the popular Lagos and Calabar carnival, the Abuja carnival also draws participants from states across the country, as well as foreign tourists.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, says he is yet to confirm if President Muhammdu Buhari is aware of the reported resignation of Justice Walter Onnoghen.

Adesina made this known in an interview with Channels Television’s Seun Okinbaloye on Politics Today on Friday.He said he cannot confirm at the time if President Buhari is aware of Justice Onnoghen’s reported resignation.

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) says the demand for religious balancing in the election and appointment of the leadership of the 9th National Assembly by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is ill-motivated and only aimed at polarising Nigeria.

Deputy Secretary-General of the Muslim body, Salisu Shehu, made this known in a statement.

President of CAN Olasupo Ayokunle, through a statement, had urged the newly elected federal lawmakers to “avoid domination and marginalisation of any kind in the interest of equity, justice, and fair play,” as they consider who to elect as principal officers.

A driver was lucky to escape with only minor injuries after falling asleep at the wheel of a large tanker truck and driving off of a bridge in a dramatic accident captured on video.

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday condoled with former Speaker of the country’s House of Representatives Ibrahim Salisu Buhari on the death of his father, Salisu Buhari Daura.

Buhari died in an Egyptian Hospital on Monday at the age of 83 after undergoing medical treatment.


The president also condoled the Yaro family on the passing of another businessman and philanthropist Ahmadu Yaro.

Spokesman for the president Garba Shehu said Buhari recalled that one of the abiding passions of Yaro was his zeal and dedication to entrepreneurship, extending proceeds of his business fortunes to numerous community development initiatives.

Police in Khanna, India on Monday, March 25, arrested a Nigerian woman identified as Gift Amadi after recovering 696gm of heroin from her possession.

Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said that as part of police’s special campaign against drug trafficking, a police patrol team arrested the Nigerian national at Nakabandi near Pristine Mall, G. T Road”

“Under the guidelines of Sh. Dhruv Dahiya IPS, SSP/Khanna, Sh Mukesh Kumar PPS, SP/OCCO/Khanna, Sh. Manjit Singh PPS, DSP, & Insp. The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) won six seats,
the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) got three seats,

the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) won two seats each.
