Xtorm7995: 3. What if the heat tape wasn't for the air outside but for the gas on the way out as someone suggested somewhere above? At least we can both agree that being bombarded with gas in an enclosed chamber makes absolutely no sense for someone who was born in the Silo going out for the first time? Assuming the Judiciary is to be believed and the air outside is truly toxic then the gas should be for someone coming into the silo from the outside as a means to sterilize any form of toxic waste they might bring into the silo not for someone venturing outside.
The gas along with the shitty heat tape might just be the thing. The second season might just prove so if Jules runs out of air before reaching the next Silo and forced to take off her helmet although seeing as how the various Silo's were built close to one another she will probably make it to the next one in time, the only question that remains is why should they let her in. The decision might be out of the hands of whoever is in charge of the next Silo she ends up on, If the citizens of that Silo starts to demand for answers regarding the mysterious woman showing up on their screens from the outside.
Although its quite clear that she wont be killed off seeing as how she is the MC and the seires is dead without her. She might even return to her Silo at some point through the underground network of tunnels running through the Silo's in the coming seasons.
All in all a solid first season, definitely 9.8/10
don't be so sure Jules won't be killed off...
From what I know, the books are a series of books...meaning she could be a character in one and not a character in another
Achilles100: Thanks for this, but if the green view is fake, how come when the generator shut down , twas the green view that flashed before before going off, cos at that time, the system was already off.
It was more of a glitch. I think the green view was what they used to put in the display before the riot
But the truth is, I believe it was added to further fôol we the audience into thinking the green view is real
Xtorm7995: 3. She never suspected that the green view was fake until she was outside watching the same exact feed she had seen before being replayed in front of her. Even her final sit down with Benard indicated as much when she asked him "why not tell people its okay to go outside" and Benard didnt answer because he knew telling her the truth about what's really out there didn't really matter since she was going to be dead soon anyways.
The badge definitely did something that wasn't explaned coz as soon as she brought it out and placed it down before her, Benard immediately said she knows and rushed off like a lunatic. If she truly believed that the outside was okay before she left then why ask for the badge to confirm a suspicion she never had until that final moment?
2. Holston and Allison are not 100% dead yet, their bodies as seen from the cafeteria if fake coz there are no bodies on the outside from Jules POV both from the green scenery and the desolate wasteland there was no bodies while in the cafeteria those fake bodies has been in that same exact position for a couple of years on end. That cafeteria view doesn't paint the whole picture at the very least concerning the supposed bodies.
1. Yes, the apocalyptic view in real coz we weren't just shown what Jules was seeing through the helmet but also the camera panned out to show multiple Silo's littered across the horizon.
3. I think she did... That's why she had a proper heat tape...she suspected that the green view with life outside was fake af... Remember it had birds flying around... If she didn't suspect, she would have even gone outside without the suit sef
2. They are dead from every indication...that's why she put the badge on the body...she knew where it was.
Crumbian: Saw someone also compain about the bolded on Facebook but then again, what we have in the novel is Dandelion the womanizer not Jaskier.
I read the novels after watching the second season and my interest in the series dropped. There's just no way Netflix is matching the novel. They're not even trying. The books are detailed, grounded and very very brutal and the show is just none of these things.
For me, apart from Henry Cavill (Geralt), Only Jodhi May (Queen Calanthe) delivered something close to their character's book version.
I feel like this thing is a pride issue
Hollywood directors can't just seem to follow source materials accurately, they always want to give their own spin to stories...
They just take the premise and keep going however they want.
While I understand that an adaptation doesn't have to be 1-1...it should at least follow the core story and events accurately. But these Hollywood directors are too proud to do this...
The reality is that they cannot know the Characters and the world more than the original author...
I heard The Witcher books are pretty grounded...so it isn't hard to adapt...but instead they chose to give it their own spin...
An adaptation should respect the source material...instead, because of pride, they chose to do the opposite
It might work in superhero stories because those ones are treated as separate entities and can be adapted anyhow... But it won't work for clear cut and concise stories like The Witcher.
Achilles100: So I have questions concerning Silo ending.
1. Which is real? The green environ or the one that looks like the aftermath of a nuclear apocalypse?
2. Is Holtson and Allison actually dead or they survive?
3. Why did Jules ask for the badge, I know it did something but what exactly, I dont know.
1. The apocalyptic view is real...the world is truly in the aftermath of a disaster
2. Holtson and Allison are dead...their bodies as seen in the cafeteria is real
3. She used the badge to confirm her suspicion that the green view is fake. She caused a glitch in the green AR view. In the cafeteria view, the bodies of Holtson and Allison are there, in the green view it's a rock that is there... By putting the batch on a rock, the view began to glitch
mayor1814: One thing I've come to realize about series, movies, music and even life generally is dat one man meat is anoda poison. There are some popular series, movies, and music dat everybody and ppl around me will so much like and me I will not like, I will even force myself to it, but will not just feel it.
E.g. I tried so hard to like the wire, no e no enter my system, same goes with blacklist at some point. Ted lasso too I'm not feeling it, I've dropped it.
You're lucky you didn't waste your time watching The Blacklist.
It's one of the most useless series I've seen. I regret every second I wasted on that train wreck garbage. It's a pointless show that was always going nowhere...I kept giving it hope it kept dashing my hopes
No wonder Henry Cavill left. Disappointing. He's the only one keeping this show alive. He's the only one enjoyable to watch
Some of the cuts don't even make any sense. A character is in one place with some people in one scene...a minute later they are miles away...
Every character seems to keep disappearing randomly and finding themselves randomly. Maybe cell phones and GPS exist in this world now... Oh maybe teleporting machines exist too
The entire season so far feels like a patchwork of ideas...like multiple writers writing different scenes with no knowledge of what the previous writer did
The only reason I'm still watching this show is because of Henry Cavill. Once he's out, I'm out too
In The Witcher, why does Ciri not dye her hair. I know it won't stop them from being tracked, but it stands out too much and makes them easier to be found
oyaskii: Netflix and Amazon are two hideous twins when it comes to adapting fantasy lore. I didn't even bother with Wheel of Time and I'm not even hearing anything about it, I barely scrap thru RoP. HBO would have been better suited for it, they match good budget with fantastic hirings of show runners and leads.
Let's see what Amazon has to offer, at least funds won't be an issue. Probably it's this one they will get right.
same Wheel of Time when one guy here no let us rest about? The show he compared with Game of Thrones?
But truly, the show seems to have faded to obscurity. No one talks about it. No one seems to remember it exists sef
The gas released on the people sent out to clean just before they exit the silo is poisonous... The heat tape prevented the gas from infiltrating Juliette suit hence her survival.
There are many other silos too?... Now that is a big reveal
nothing wrong with the gas. It's the air outside that is toxic
But where did all the bodies of the past cleaners disappear to? I mean even if their bodies decayed, there would be lots of clothes or something
