Ok, i guess you have to search for B&B within the uni areas, they are far cheaper and will fit within your budget. You need to get that figure before applying for visa because it will form part of your budget.

Google B&B in Portsmouth university area you will get a lot of hits, the university is located at the heart of Portsmouth commercial town...area called commercial road or Fratton park which is about 15mins walk to the university. I used to live in Fratton park and its a bit cheaper than commercial road area.

So focus your B&B search in those areas, get the price and use it for your budget calculation.

There is a hotel just a minute away from Portsmouth university I think it's Premier Inn, check the cost to add to your budget so as to make it realistic

Thanks a just wise, I just checked and the Premier Inn hotels near the university is around 3 pounds per night , let's say I want to use 10 days . That's 350 pounds. That's like 140k at parallel market rate. Which make say budget 500k. Good!How much would I need to put in my account , and what are the steps , necessary documents?

I kind of have a different case here. I am presently a student of University of Portsmouth (Distance Learning). Which I will be graduating soon, my graduation is a July 22 as stated by the university.
I presently works with a multinational, and earn 140k per month. Pay slips and official letter of introduction is not an issue .
Guess I will have to collect my to Tax clearance cert before applying,
I have my student ID card and records,
I will like to go for my graduation in the UK,
I need a clear layout of what and what I will need to apply safely for the visa, I plan to spend just a week. Because it will be out of my annual leave, and I don't really have much money to waste away coz have spent so much on the course. However it will be my absolute joy to be present at the graduation ceremony.
I budget to spend 350k, (flight + little shopping).

Your age is a big boost. HND gives you two certificates according to WES, a 3yr diploma and a one year post graduate diploma and that's a huge advantage. If your IELTS is very good then you should be above 400.

For those in a fix as to whether to use WES or ICAS.
WES is by far a better option. However, check if your school can be assessed by them
I used ICAS cos my university is not assessed by WES and I must add it was terrible experience. My timeline is 6months and its no fault of my private university E&Rs

Yes, WES contacts your school after the receipt of your documents for your school to reconfirm that your documents are genuine.

that's will be a big DELAY, my school is still using postal mails as a means of response , very slow school

Haa wait o, I thought it's just your school sending WES tour transcript and then WES evaluates and sensends you electronic and hard copy? Which one is WES communicating with your school and your school replying them back after sending the transcript to them?
Pls you guys should explain further cos I'm getting confused. I thought it's just a one time communication between the applicant's school and WES

I read it here that WES communicates back to school, someone should clarify pls

From what I've gathered, WES is still your best option, ICAS is a long thing. What you need to do is get someone who will be helping you fast-track the processing at the school end while you try and get it by hand and send via courier

thanks , I can maneuver it, get it by hand and send with DHL, however the problem is when WES replies the school , how fast will it get back to Nigeria, and how fast can the school respond to it, even if the school respond , they won't send it via DHL

You will have to do evaluation for your qualifications first to know it's Canadian equivalent and consequently, what marks it will fetch you under the scheme. However, my friend's HND and someone on this forum as well, was evaluated 3year Canadian diploma and one year postgraduate diploma

Wes sent my document for verification since 17th of March, I was able to affirm it has been received by the registrar department but what has been delaying it from gettn to the pg schl where my contact would package and send back to Wes is the major problem now. Wes sent photocopies to lautech, my contact confirmed to me dat is how dey deal. They dont deal via E-mail. If that is the modus operandi for pg schl den ofcos xpect nothin less for Bsc.

that's the potential delay am afraid of, has anybody tried ICAS , is it the same process, the process of sending photocopy back to the school for verification will take a long time , I don't if ICAS do the same
